Yea, sorry about the sound... We would love to have high end camera people in every city, or even a select few, but not yet bro... Eventually! Thanks for visiting the page...
Jesus Fcking christ, My favorite song! Now I can see better his drumming to play this song more effectively. this is awesome. More songs from this please!
Triggers are an enhancement of electronic sound using transducers when a drum is hit which in turn vibrates to a sound module. The drumkit is still microphoned with normal audio microphones but triggers enhance the sound much further with the use of vibrations that trigger sounds of a sound module. Usually this creates an enhancement that sounds quicker when using triggers but in actual fact its a connection of two sounds that blend well that makes it sound quicker than it is. Now dropit peeps
Like george says himself: In death metal drumming we use triggers if you don't use triggers you can't play, nobody will be able to hear what you play and especially you're guitarists if they can't hear the bassdrum they can't play. And if you play with triggers everyone can hear every hit that you play so everyone can hear all the mistakes.
nile is a fucking tasty band, that shit gets the blood flowing, i had my school dj play this song on my prom night. gotta say...people fucking head banged like crazy
Do you know what a 16th note is? It's double an 8th note, which he (Kollias) is doing with individual hands. 32nd notes are double 16th notes. He's doing 16th notes with his individual feet as well, but incredibly even. Speed requires timing, timing relates to the tempo and time signature, which all comes down to musicality. The guitarists have it no easier. The ability to growl correctly and play as fast as that is incredible.
Kollias also needs triggers because even with his beater distance as great as it is at the speeds he plays the notes will become a blur not because hes hitting weak but just from the sheer speed of his feet.
George Kollias DID in fact say that using triggers is kind of like cheating because you don't have to put as much power into your feet as you would without triggers. If you look at George playing in drumcams you can see that he is using a LOT of power in his feet, so in a sense he wouldn't really need triggers because the bass drum wouldn't sound sloppy because he in fact puts TONS of power into his playing. He said using triggers is kind of cheap because you don't have to put as much power into
Quit the crying people. NILE are a fucking legend - and the're syill here. Maiden are the only band who are 100% real like these guys on the 'big' band scene. NILE!!!!!!!!! That drumming is a lifes work. Respect.
"bunch of dudes with a nervous twitch" it's not a nervous twitch. they've learned how to do that right so they dont hurt themselves so they're completely relaxed while playing.
sorry, but what he said was that many of the drummer who use triggers don't use the real power needed to make a "natural" bass drum sound. they just use a bit of power to play and that's what he called cheating. The triggers are just something to help your bass drum get heard.
Music is not just about musical notes and how many one can do at a certain speed. Music is something that should touch the soul because the musican has something to say that needs to be heard. Growling and playing lots of notes really fast does not move masses of people in a spiritual way. no wonder sooner or later most of the these so-called metal groups eventually start playing music that masses of people actually want to hear just maybe because they grew up into maturity somewhat!
triggers only give the bass drum a different sound. some use it to make every kick heard rather then have a dull droning background noise. it makes it neither harder or easier to play. george uses triggers, but just so you get to hear just how fucking fast he is.
Listen to more Nile noob. They are dynamic as fuck in their composition. Their albums have a wide variety of dynamics. I'm not the biggest Nile guy, but I've heard and studied all their albums and they have a very wide variety of dynamics and interesting song structures. To say they're one-dimensional is just naive
hey george is cool enough but his stuff is fairly easy when you build up the speed and consistancy, thats the trick, to be able to keep it up! sure theres techniques that take serious practice and i would not say he's crap or anything like it but... i personally think that tomas haake of meshuggah is the undisputed drummmer of metal and then some, you could spend a month learning kollias techniques but could spend a year mastering a meshuggah drum track, if you can even work it out! ciao 4
holy...jesus...christ..ohh...!!!at 00:38 doing a really fast double bass...kooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolias!this men is really really good drummer and really really really fast drummer....yeahh...
Karl Sanders is always happy when he plays live, I love it. Enjoying what you do and having fun!!!
the 1 of many things i like about george is that hes so relaxed when he plays and makes the things he does soo easy
Those cymbals never stop moving.
Nice work Randy.... George is the man! Ian
Yea, sorry about the sound... We would love to have high end camera people in every city, or even a select few, but not yet bro... Eventually! Thanks for visiting the page...
The bassist is Chris Lollis, guitarist for Lecherous Nocture.
HOLY SHIT @ KOLLIAS. The guy never ceases to amaze me...
Jesus Fcking christ, My favorite song! Now I can see better his drumming to play this song more effectively. this is awesome. More songs from this please!

He is gonna do it george said it on his forum AWESOME!!!!
perfect chemistry between kollias and sanders......they r the beasts of death metal....
played with the aug. 17th at marks, amazing time. love the second time in the chorus wehn he uses the auxillary snare. so good!
Omg the bassists hair is soo awesome!!
Finally a vid with good sound quality!
Great vid!
nile is a fucking tasty band, that shit gets the blood flowing, i had my school dj play this song on my prom night. gotta say...people fucking head banged like crazy
Thats probably one of the funniest things that I have ever heard in my life. Not even joking.
gosh george is amazing
they got a bassist for the new album. he was sick live and does some backing vocals
No ut Dallas has been. for several years haha. love the skullet!
Wow! lollis vocals are amazing! it makes it sound so powerful, i think he should be the main vocalist and having dallas and karl back him up
I think this is the best track on the album, atleast the last half is insane.
If you want to look him up, search for Divine heresy it is his new band... or not his :P

Name rappers that can play drums with that speed, precision and technicality.
Kollias also needs triggers because even with his beater distance as great as it is at the speeds he plays the notes will become a blur not because hes hitting weak but just from the sheer speed of his feet.
this song is friggen BEAST!
Which song is this?
@@SilentSherlock666 bit late but it's The Essential Salts from the album Ithyphallic
As in song descriptions? No they don't, I have the Pyramid and none of them have liner notes, Karl's said that he wasn't going to do it on this album.
HOLY SHIT!!! Even live george is like a human metronome. fucking tight
that's true, amazing drumming. It looks so easy when kollias is drumming
i would be of the opinion that
its all about the end result
if triggers produce the desired sound
then so be it,
THAT'S PRETTY BRUTAL
@21sabiandrummer67 ahaha, perhaps he was only doing straight headbanging? that's still pretty good, though it did look like it was a tad flimsy
Georgee ruleess!!!!!
the bassist in this vid is Chris Lollis
best Death Metal drummer of our time. not to mention derek roddy too of course
George Kollias DID in fact say that using triggers is kind of like cheating because you don't have to put as much power into your feet as you would without triggers. gods. PERIOD!
ya if u watch the interview with karl i think he explains all the egyptian stuff
awesome
George dont trigger his basdrums at live shows, only when he's recording. I heard him say that in a video thats posted here on TH-cam.
does anybody know who is playing on a bass on tour (and growling ]:o ) with the best death metal band in the universe (Nile of course)?
is it the essential
salts?
King a drumer death metal!
Nile is the best death metal band ever, and i am the biggest faaaaaaaaaaan \m/
@21sabiandrummer67 Who says he wanted to do a windmill ?
@ 1:29 no offense to Karl but he does the most epic windmill fail ever lmfao
Quit the crying people. NILE are a fucking legend - and the're syill here. Maiden are the only band who are 100% real like these guys on the 'big' band scene. NILE!!!!!!!!!
That drumming is a lifes work. Respect.
i love how easy he makes it look 2
best death metal band
Cheer up and sorry I made the assumption it would be in the lyric booklet, I shall find out...
Awesome.
whos playing bass for these guys now?
Do you mean his drumming or just the video sounds like shit?
Why dont i see mics?
"bunch of dudes with a nervous twitch"
it's not a nervous twitch. they've learned how to do that right so they dont hurt themselves so they're completely relaxed while playing.
is that good or bad?
what song is this?
YES! finally someone who respects death metal for its prowess. thank you lol
Musical skill. That's what I call it.
All this trigger talk is such garbage!! George is one of the best drummers of our time... It's that simple...
sorry, but what he said was that many of the drummer who use triggers don't use the real power needed to make a "natural" bass drum sound. they just use a bit of power to play and that's what he called cheating. The triggers are just something to help your bass drum get heard.
you probably mean Chris Lollis the touring Vocalist and Bassplayer
previous one was
the single-foot blasts are really sick....
is karl losing hair???
Trueromance8405 : what is it you call music then? ;)
not kollias of nile, nile of kollias
GROSO!
I think the idea that triggers is cheating is because it allows the bass drum notes to be easily edited in recording... but a lot of people do it
whos playing bass?
... hehehe gamato... katse kala... very good HAHA :)

What? XD
dunno his name but @ the end of the vid you can see him ...
nope...its chris lollis...or however its spelled...
You could be more wrong?? He said that himself that he only triggers his basdrums when he's in the studio recording!
triggers only give the bass drum a different sound. some use it to make every kick heard rather then have a dull droning background noise. it makes it neither harder or easier to play. george uses triggers, but just so you get to hear just how fucking fast he is.
Jesus....sometimes i forget how fucking good Nile is and then i listen to them and shit myself.
I THINK its Joe Payne. But I can't quite tell.
kollias looks like he's headbanging in slow mo xD
Dude that was my thoughts before I got into ROCK so just imagine metal LOL.
whats wrong with a little skullet?
Listen to more Nile noob. They are dynamic as fuck in their composition. Their albums have a wide variety of dynamics. I'm not the biggest Nile guy, but I've heard and studied all their albums and they have a very wide variety of dynamics and interesting song structures. To say they're one-dimensional is just naive
George "The man who birthed Jesus" Kollias
''Not only is he one the fastest drummers but he's also one of the fastest...'' :DD I bet the lady can't feel a thing in that speed.
Buy the album and find out yourself.
its just rebound and power that all trigers are, i hasve one
Chris Lollis, the bass player.
@cavemancyproductions

holy...jesus...christ..ohh...!!!at 00:38 doing a really fast double bass...kooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolias!this men is really really good drummer and really really really fast drummer....yeahh...
sick!
yeah he does, but that doesn't mean it makes his drumming faster or easier, thats a myth. Triggers do nothing but make the bass drum sound better.
Then why does he say that?
hey the bass player has nice voice
george is probably rollin in it
he probably uses some sort of blast technique with the ladies
Rofl! Agreed. Toller-Wade is King in this respect, I think.
but thats what death metal is, and they have stuff with dynamics its not always just fast.
@mikeportnoyfan fast and intense needs > stamina needs > good technique
he says that he does
