We move to Bancroft in 1958 from Kirkland land, the Faraday Uranium Mine Had built homes up on Faraday heights for the new miners, when the mines closed the first time we moved to Bramalea. My father missed Bancroft so much he always called it GODS COUNTRY. When the mines reopened in 1976 he moved back to The mine homes that were built on BOW LAKE for the mining staff...therein so much to do, Rock hounding, picking wild berries,boating, fishing, hunting, Egan shoot, eagles nest, hiking, snowmobiling, etc etc I miss it Nature at its best......♥️🕊♥️
