The only reason I was ever subscribed to him was to chat in his livestream once or twice because he restricted it. As soon as he runs into a team you know, it's really easy to see he either has a very superficial understanding (explained perfectly by Wiki plagiarism) or just gets random things wrong (also explained perfectly by Wiki plagiarism).
Folks, don't use Wikipedia unless you're trying to find other sources via citations. Even if it's right 99% of the time (at best), it's still wrong at least 1% of the time. I've noticed that (unsurprisingly) team pages and rivalry pages are ESPECIALLY slanted towards whichever team has more fans that edit (like Clemson fans). If the series record is 35-10, they'll act like the team that lost 35 of 45 games is still on equal footing somehow. "Neutral point of view" my rear.

I literally screamed at my phone “a period means you pause…you don’t just run on the next sentence!” So many unnatural breaks in sentences…if you’re gonna steal at least rehearse the damn thing first! Just no effort. Both he and Somerton just seem bored reading what they stole…”gotta get through this to appease the algorithmic gods!” I guess the public service announcement here is…if the commentator on your TH-cam video seems extremely bored when conveying information just stop and plug a sentence from the video into Google and see what pops up.

I've probably been doing this as long as you've been alive. I'm 50 and have been in print journalism, mostly doing sports, since 1993. Getting in front of the camera really doesn't work for me because my voice is so deep it sounds awful on video. But like you, I've dedicated my life to this profession and earned my living doing it. And also, like you, I resent the hell out of it when someone gets into this business, whether it be print, TV, or online, and cuts corners. Plagiarism steals money from the original content creator and it reflects badly on everyone in the business.
I follow your stuff because you're entertaining and also provide good information, and I know you work hard on it. I did catch a mistake once on a video that involved the 1971 Michigan football team and its rushing attack, where you didn't know that Oklahoma set the national single-season record that same season and it still stands. But that's the only time, and big deal (I remember it because it's the only time you missed something important!). I tell people I have 300 things to get done every week to provide content to my readers, and if I get 298 of them done and on-spot, that's a victory.
It takes courage to take a stand against someone like this, especially someone as popular as he seems to be. But anyone trying to make an honest living as a content creator of any kind should stand with you on it. And I do.

Wish he could have got to them before forcing in his politics. If you insist on putting that garbage in a video, at least maybe show one singular act of plagiarism before letting me know you're on the "right side of history". Now I have zero interest in seeing any of his evidence, because I know it's born from bias. He didn't make this video because he realized this guy was copying videos. He heard his politics and looked for a way to cancel him. That's made obvious because, again, he mentioned this guy's politics before ever telling me about anything he stole.

Ya, I agree that was a dumb move by Gator. However I really don’t think he made this video to hate on DGs politics. That’s a lot of work, making an almost 2 hour long video, to simply bash the guys politics for 5 minutes. I just skipped that part. Every single person has a bias in this world on everything. If you don’t like it then just skip past it like I did

    • @DoctorBiobrain

@@kenfresno2125 That’s hilarious. But you guys make everything political and assume we’re doing it to you because you’re so political.
And what’s funny is that I thought Jaguar made a mistake by doing mentioning any of that because it’d offend all the rightwing snowflakes who pretend they’re tough yet freak out the moment someone says anything they disagree with. Thanks for proving me right.

Something seemed so off about DG. While I was subbed to his channel, i mostly saw stadium videos from him, but he couldn't even get basic facts right. For a while, I kept pointing things out in the comments that weren't correct, and there were followers that would defend his points, no matter how wrong. A lot of things were "I feel...". He could get the photos he used labeled wrong. I thought he sounded monotone, but I thought that was him having a naturally monotone voice, not realizing that he was just reading from articles (and poorly at that).

Throughout this whole plagiarism arc that TH-cam has seemed to be on lately, I have felt this very odd mixture of anger and relief. On the one hand I'm obviously unbelievably mad that not only did these people disrespect the other creators, but us as viewers since they view us so lowly that they think we'll eat up essentially beyond worthless slop copy pasted from Wikipedia. However, on the other hand, there is like a sense of relief since as someone personally looking to possibly start making content, one of my biggest hang ups was being nervous about the research I was doing not being enough, or that the worrying I would do over potential scripts simply meant I wasn't cut out to make something. But alas, those things didn't mean I wasn't worthy of it, but that my ethics and what I wanted to make was so far above not only what DG does, but channels magnitudes larger than his do who have also been caught plagiarizing. It's motivated me more to know that whatever I end up making will have infinitely more value than anything and everything DG has made or ever will make using his strategy

By my understanding most good TH-cam creators actually do use a script for pre-recorded videos because it keeps things on topic and concise, but the key is they tend to be the ones who wrote the script, and so it's their own words which means they can read it and still sound like themselves and not a robot.

You are right he is charismatic and pretty funny and he's well on his way towards 500K subscribers (he's currently at 146K). It's odd that he covers so many topics like 9/11, football, politics, etc. I've been watching his videos on TH-cam about politics and he seems to now identify the source that's giving him the content. I think people have pointed out to him about copying others' content, and he seems to be better at giving credit to the content creator. It's hard to believe he barely got through high school. He has lately complained about TH-cam not monetizing a lot of his 9/11 videos. Supposedly, I guess TH-cam feels no company wants to sponsor ads on some of his 9/11 videos and he's upset that he's not making money on them. So, not everything is perfect in his world, despite his channel doing very well.

Seriously, though, while I don't use TH-cam to put out sports-related content, I used my now-defunct Twitter feed to post FA Cup picks. One feed I drew upon, the FA Cup Factfile, had a ton of stats on past histories for each matchup in the Cup. I always made it a point of emphasis to cite said feed for data to back up my picks, usually with the phrasing "per FA Cup Factfile." In due course, the guy who ran the feed praised me for citing my sources, which he would never have done had I just posted the data without attribution.

Depressed Ginger and those who quote wiki pages deserve criticism for their plagiarism.
Not to defend anyone, but I will say that some have argued that TH-cam’s algorithm encourages people to upload content as often as possible in a format of videos that is barely long enough to qualify for ads in bulk.
The plagiarists plagarized, and they may have done so to try to get as much money with as little effort as possible, and the algorithms may be encouraging it.
