    This is very interesting. Somehow this showed up on my feed and I genuinely liked the way you went through the process. Having gone through some of the videos, I wish we had some of this information back in 2008-2013.
    I'm a waterloo Computer engineering alumni, class of 2013, was an international student and now work as a Product manager.

    This was very motivating to hear. I may not have the grades now (I'm in grade 11) but I'm doing whatever I can to boost them. I know that I already have a lot of creative talents and loads of extracurricular to back me up but it's really just down to marks that I feel drags me down (I have an avg of 80 when I should get it to at least a 90).

    Hi Tamer, I want to apply to mechanical engineering at Waterloo, I have a 93% average but have only two extracurriculars that I did in grade 10 and the minimum amount of community service. Is it worth applying to Waterloo or is it unrealistic at this point?

  • @mr.randiom

    I have amazing grade 11 marks. With 99 in Maths, 100 in both physics and chemistry. But in grade 12th my marks dropped a lot. I got 94 in maths and 84 in physics and 93 in chemistry with a total of 90.1 %. I have weak EC's and none of them are from 11th and 12th (mostly due to covid and recovery). Do you think I stand a chance. The only big achievement I have is that I qualified JEE advanced in india with an All India Rank of 24000 (even though it is just normal and I screwed that quite badly). Do you think I have a chance at mechanical engineering?

    yo idk if ur gonna see this, but I just had a quick question. So usually throughout highschool career i could maintain a 90-92 average with like 1-2 hours of studying everyday. So, cuz of what u said, i wanna bump that shit up to a 95+ but i didn't know 100% how to do that. My only question is, do u think "# of hours of studying = your mark" or is there more to it for gr12?

    • @TamerShaheen
      @TamerShaheen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that’s true to some extent...but there are things u can do other than studying to help ur grades go up. First, befriend students who r a year older than u and ask them for a copy of their tests...that way u can use those tests as practice when ur studying. Usually teachers don’t change the test much between years. Second, in ur school...try to rearrange ur schedule so that u have “easier” teachers teaching u.

    • @TamerShaheen
      @TamerShaheen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      University is a little different than high school. In university, I tend to to study like a few hours day (3-5 hours) when there’s no exams, but when it’s exam season, I study around 10-12 hours a day. Exam season is usually 2 weeks in middle of the semester and 2 weeks at the end of the semester.

    Hey bro, quick question. I did high school 4 years ago in another country and im applying right now. I did the prerequisites with a 96% avg but I’m concerned my grades back home are too bad (76%) avg. The grading system in my school was so hard and even the valedictorian got a avg of just 86% out of 98 students. Do you think it is worth it to explain it in the AIF? Or it’s meaningless for them. I also did 3 years mechanical eng in college with high Honors
