Union Station was erected staring around 1927 as a joint venture of Canadian Pacific and Grand Trunk Western [later Canadian National] With the decline in passenger rail starting in the 1950' when Greyhound and passenger cars became more affordable. Union Station fell into decline. GO or Metrolinx started in 1967 and today is a major commuter line throughout the GTA.
Changes are made at Union because the Montreal and Ottawa trains are combined to Brockville where the two sections are separated, one to Ottawa and the remainder to Montreal.
Thanks. I was curious because scheduled waiting in Toronto is 2 hours and you said you waited for 1 hour. but I guess it was because your train was late while arriving in Toronto, I saw 2 PM on clock in Toronto station, while scheduled arrival is 1:11 pm
+DorianCroatia20 Hi, My train was 45 -50 minutes late for Toronto. The train was several minutes late for London then train stay there for about 30 minutes. I don't know why did train stay there too long. Maybe they had fuel refilled.
Yeah, that might be it. and just one more question if I may, I'm curious does the same composition run all the way Windsor-Montreal in case of departing Windsor 9:05 AM, or is it different composition from Toronto to Montreal? (assuming train numbers are not the same)
Hi, I had to changed train at Toronto. I wish I would stay on same train. I didn't remember train #. Train from Windsor was 45 minutes late for Toronto. So I spent at Toronto one hour instead of two hours because they were late. I took train from Windsor to Quebec in two days. I stayed at Montreal one night. Then I take different train to Quebec next day.
