I don't see how ESPN can extend the FSU's grant of rights if FSU is not in the ACC at the end of 2026. Because that would mean that ESPN could keep FSU and Clemson's grant of rights and not the rest of the conference. That would kill the conference, but keep the two money makers. So if FSU does leave, then ESPN should only have their rights held until the end of 2026.

This is a very important point. In 2027, would ESPN exercise their option and pay $50 million each (+5% annual increase) to each ACC team without FSU, Clemson, UNC in the ACC? Through 2036? No. Would they pay that same amount if FSU, Clemson, UNC are still in the ACC, but about to bail? Again no. So perhaps, it is wise the FSU and others wait a couple of years, and let the lawsuits play out.

FSU is fighting to break out of their chains, ACC is fighting for it's life. This is a movie 🎬 in the making and it's about to wrap up quickly.
It's no coincidence that these investments in personnel, facilities are in line with the timing of the lawsuit. It's all posturing to maximize our position for the next league. We are gone by 2025. The ACC be damned.
The SEC conference opener vs. Alabama will be a reckoning 2 years in the waiting. Doak will have finished it's renovations and will be a guaranteed sell out. That game viewership will echo national championship numbers. Get your popcorn 🍿 Noles. The snub will be revenged and the CLIMB continues...

True. Fisher was just impatient with its timeline and frustrated with previous administration over their reluctance to invest in football in a timely manner. He recognized the coming storm and he ran for cover, as did Wilcox. We still need a lawsuit filed against Wilcox. He did us zero favors.
Since the new administration took over, there has been a concerted effort to stand on business.
I'm curious to find out how much leverage ACC gave up to ESPN. IF that ever comes to light.

The ACC has filed for an injunction to prevent the ACC from leaving. If the court grants the injunction, FSU can't go anywhere. If we lose the case and the ACC gets an injunction for the term of the contract, we can't go anywhere. It's all up i the are and I think it's too soon for anyone to make statements or judgments since we have not even had a hearing on the matter. My hope is that it settles for cheap but the ACC may fight hard to prevent that since their financial lives depend on them keeping all their hostages.

I agree 100% FSU is gone. There are two paths the ACC can take. 1:Continue to Make outrageous demands of FSU like the PAC did when they asked ESPN for $50m per school for TV rights ( we know how that turned out). 2: Let FSU go and work on keeping as much of the Conference and ESPN contract as they can. Remember ESPN offered the PAC $30m WITHOUT USC and UCLA. If the ACC can hit that number maybe they can keep UNC, UVA etc.

WHERE in the ACC or E$PiN contract is there any enforceable statement that FSU HAS TO provide access to their stadium (Doak Campbell) so that E$PiN cameras can record and broadcast FSU home games?!!! BUT...from what I understand....there IS a CONTRACTED amount that E$PiN HAS TO PAY...the ACC. Which also leads to...where is the CONTRACT that FSU has to bow to the ACC to allow any ACC staff or officials access to FSU stadium?! So, there can be a "Mexican Standoff". E$PiN gets exclusive rights to broadcast FSU Home Games.....and FSU does NOT have to allow E$PiN camera crews in the stadium!! FSU doesn't get paid but E$PiN can't charge for a product they don't have but yet has to PAY the ACC for, according to their contract!

You have no effing idea what you're talking about. First of all Bowden said that tongue-in-cheek. He was always making quotes to be funny but, did not seriously mean what he was saying.
Bobby ended up at 13 wins and 13 losses and one tie versus the SEC. Not quite the SEC dominance I'm sure you were thinking.
Florida State has an overall winning record versus the SEC at 73-72-6.
Now, after destroying one of the elite programs in the SEC for 2 years in a row and whooping that gator ass repeatedly I think it's pretty apparent that Florida State would easily be in the top five of the SEC or the Big ten.
Our athletic director has already shown the numbers that in television ratings and revenue we would be third in each conference.
Whew! Dismantling your argument was exhausting!
      Have a nice night!
Unlike the elite SEC programs, Florida State didn't register these wins over perennial conference basement dwellers. Of the 33 games the 'Noles have played against current-SEC teams since 1992, every single one has come against a team that went to a bowl game the year FSU played them, with the lone exception being the Seminoles' 37-7 dismantling of a laughingly bad 4-8 2013 Florida team. Those SEC squads that did make postseason play competed in overwhelmingly premier bowls, 18 of which are now included among the big six that presently rotate as hosts of the College Football Playoff (Orange, Sugar, Rose, Fiesta, Cotton, and Peach), and another selven played in New Year's Day games.
