@@marthacastro9162 No- actually they're not. That line is meant to manipulate people into covering all instances. Their concerns are very legitimate as should be, and everyone else should be concerned about it as well. Obviously I'm not talking about interracial marriages, (which btw have been happening since Biblical times🙄 and God Himself blessed and joined those marriages). But have you not seen what they're trying to do to "normalize" pedophilia? Instead of pedophiles, they want to call them 'MAPS' now in order to disengage and distance people's minds from the criminality of it all. There's also a pedophilia flag now, and companies making and selling child sex dolls?!? It's sick and it's diabolical and it's happening right under our noses. Don't be so naive. This is a big deal!

I was five years old in 1967. I remember how "upsetting" the six o'clock news was to my grandparents but my parents, aunts and uncles, weren't upset about the same things. They were upset about the war. Who other people fell in love with didn't matter to them. I do remember the first interracial couple I saw. People we're staring, of course. I was smiling. Even then I knew how important things like that were and I was proud to be an American because of it. (if you were there you know a five year old in the '60's was like a nine year old today. we were already mowing the lawn and doing dishes at five)
You fall in love and get married. It should be as simple as that. It is NOBODYS business who you marry. I hate to think good people will start hiding again. We worked so hard and seemed to get so far I just assumed we would keep moving forward. It crushes my soul to think my grandchild will be starting out where I did ... fifty years ago. Trumpublican Christian Nationalists are a setback but they are NOT the majority. We must at least hold our ground.

No one live forever and death is guarenteed. Each day mean we closer to the end, so just find your own happiness and leave those who found theirs to stay happy and peaceful!!

@@pibbitybibbity6599 He thinks that everyone just universally accepts that anti-miscegenation laws were wrong so they would never be touched now. He fails to realize that in his own lifetime, it WASN’T universally accepted and that the same way people used their religion to generate laws against gay marriage, so too did they use their religion to ban “interracial” marriage (and enforce slavery & Jim Crow for that matter). The only things that made these laws precedents were people of good faith who kept religion OUT of our laws. What we see (and what he is perpetuating) is the infusion of religion into our laws and once you open that door, the precedents you think are safe no longer are, including interracial marriage. It would be VERY interesting to see a case make it to the Supreme Court where some state decides that marriage is their domain and their religion dictates that “interracial” marriage is against the religion of most of the people in their state so they have a right to ban it. What would he argue? He already stated that states get to determine healthcare restrictions. He is on record advocating for states determine marriage rights of citizens who happen to be gay. I’d like to see how he squares this with a state’s right to determine marriage for all other citizens.

@@pibbitybibbity6599 I think that such laws (or constitutional articles) were since repealed after the Loving case. What was more important about Loving v. Virginia was not the declaration of interracial marriage laws unconstitutional, but that the "One Drop Rule" (which anyone with even a trace amount of "non-White" blood was automatically declared "Colored" under such) was viewed as an abomination and declared unconstitutional as well; thus those with Native American ancestry (both full and mixed-blooded) were no longer classified as "Colored"/Black, but now could try to prove the necessary percentage of Native ancestry needed to be enrolled in a Federally-recognized nation (provided that the nation doesn't try to blackball anyone of mixed Black & Native American ancestry from being formally enrolled).

My parents married in 1969. They couldn't be married in a church or even city hall. They were only teenagers and my dad was in the Army so his commanding officer married them in his living room. My mom was Native American and my dad was Japanese so both of their families weren't approving of the marriage. My mom waited nearly 2 decades to have me because she was waiting for a more tolerant world. She died when I was quite young but not before she told me how hard it was to face so much racism. It was sad, but she was so happy that I could pass as white. (Which isn't really the case...people just can't clock my ethnicity, but continually ask me "what I am." So rude.) Anyhoo, it really was hard for my parents. And, its infuriating that the SCOTUS is trying to drag us back in time.
