Your right on about the kiln, we burn with big pieces, it all makes heat, you will get all your hick up worked out and everything will be working smoothly
That Eastonmade really burns through the inventory. I never say waste when it comes to what I call odds and ends. I burn all that stuff in my fire pit. Stay safe my friend
Hey Scheib ! Catfish here ! The wood yard is coming along nicely with your new additions Woooo ! The 12 22 produces a lot of waste . Of course if you use it , it’s not waste ! Opens other potential revenue streams , can help you grow and expand your business ! Keep on chucking !
The roadside wood looks to be great firewood. I hope your supply doesn't run out on you. I keep thinking that there has to be an easier way to get the trees closer to the truck before you buck them. Getting them to your truck is the biggest drawback of roadside logging...
hi there . might want to give it a thought when you move the splitter by the tree , lag bolt a 2x4 on the tree to hold some kind of tarp . good splitting john
That new splitter sure gets it done. My single wedge 25 ton Champion works for me, but makes me work hard also. If I was selling firewood, I'd certainly look into an Eastonmade.
I have a Champion too. It aint a bad splitter, quite a bit faster than my Troy built one. Granted it is not an Eastonmade, but I did not pay an Easton made price for it. For the money it was worth it. With Schieb's splitter I would only need it 2 days a week. Love the log lift. Would like to have something like that. My rounds are huge and hate noodling them.
Great video buddy, the conveyer is the way to go. I started doing bulk firewood delivery 2 years ago and I have sold out by January both years. I definitely need to step my game up to the 12-22, I just have a box store splitter and it just doesn't produce enough inventory. Hopefully if you all have another get together I will be able to run it before buying one. Keep up the good work bud.
You can find two sweet spots to park your truck, one to fill the front of the trailer from the conveyor, and one to fill the rear, and mark them on the ground with a concrete paver to park the front left tire on top of, and you can look out the window to see that you are spot on. As long as your trailer is always straight behind you when you park on a sweet spot, you will maximize filling that trailer and save time and aggravation. Reno
Lookin good. Conveyor will be great for you after you debug it, great add. Splitter is best part of video, looks like its very safe for operator. great truck & trailer. Looks like your workin smarter.
Fun times right there! Enjoyed the vid! Thanks for having us over to the woodyard Scheib! Glad the 12-22 an conveyor are working good for ya, looking forward to see the conveyor mod updates! Cheers! Andrew from NB, Canada :)
Hello Mr. Scheib, of all the woodhounds on TH-cam I watch, you have the best stack quantity and quality per square foot of space used, you can show me everything else you do, but I always want to see those stacks grow.
That grate towards the top of the conveyor was to get loose corn 🌽 from the cob corn when you put it in a crib to dry. If loose kernels went in the crib it would pack in and without airflow would spoil. A little FYI. Peace
Bulk delivery is where the fun is at. Good luck on the conveyor. Single chain up the middle instead of double chain is your best bet. As it is configured now it will always eat a piece at the top and jam. Be a lot of work but maybe you can use the chain, sprockets, and pushers to reconfigure a middle chain design
I have both types of chain systems. I have a Blacks Creek with the single chain and split lots of ash. The ash bark is falling off now and is constantly getting caught under the top sprocket and slipping the drive belt. Pain in the azz. I also have a single chain on my Wallenstein processor and it has the same issue. Once you get the grain/ hay elevator double chains set up properly they work pretty good. I have several that work well. I'm also just setting up 2 sets of double chain Feversham Manufacturing firewood conveyor that are said to be bullet proof.
Ah yes, gotta love it when stuff freezes together. There were a few rounds the other day, which required the judicious application of size 13 workboots to free them up. Also found a big chunk of ice inside a log i was trying to split.
Looks good always seems to have to work bugs out of something’s I see the 12/22 working good for you 👍 nice seeing all the road side pick ups I need to pick up a 12/22 to pick up the game here after this you will need a beverage
Hey buddy, loving your setup. Think how bad it would be if you didn’t have the conveyor. That 12-22 puts out so much wood so fast, and you would be wasting time clearing the splitter. It’s still a minimum 2 man machine to maximize efficiency.
Why do you not leave the lift in the horizontal position as it would make it easier when you bring a new round to the splitter and you could just set it on and not bend over . Then when the last round is done splitting you just roll the new one in. Faster and easier double dippin !
If you have straight grained stuff you can make it 1.5x3.5ish but once the box wedge is down that low it is no longer locked in and could just float along with the grain.
So far I haven't had any problems with the neighbors. I do respect them if they are having a get together. I normally don't do anything to make a lot of noise. they buy wood from me so its a win for them.
I like putting my scraps in the bundle bags and I didn't like my two chain conveyor was going to try to make it into a belt instead of the chain and paddles
what I do for kindling wood i save the small stuff like u have and all that brush what u call wast i call kinding take no time to process i use a 48v self priming oiler hand chain saw we have a big fire pit on the playground I cut off all the small crap and the ends that to small keep the stuff u can still use some the brush as camping wood or kindling
Your output doubled or quadrupled, and you dont have to wrestle with the chunks anymore. This should keep you in the wood business (without wearing you out) for another 20 years.
I was thinking if I should say something when you mentioned the word awesome. I went to Dr. David Jeremiah’s church. He said that one word that shouldn’t be in the dictionary was awesome. Awesome should be a word only associated with God. I’ve got to say that I absolutely agree with him. But I know that there’s a lot of none-believers out there and it won’t stop them from using it anyway. But it would be nice if they would.
I will apologize for calling it trash but that's what it looked like to me, since your explanation of the usage I understand because there is certainly a lot of leftovers from the splitting.
can you do a video on that little dump trailer you have. That galvanized UTV trailer
Your setup is really looking nice, Scheib. The 12-22 with the conveyor will take you to a whole new level of production. Great video. obie
Man that 12-22 with the conveyor makes some serious firewood fast!
Hello Scheib, great setup with the box wedge, We have some big wood here, come on down sometime and run the bobcat, Team 500! And Bark Box MUSIC!🤙🚜🪵🇺🇸
Sounds great!

Gotta love the built in beer 🍺 holder 🤘🏽

Of all of the splitters I have seen I like the model You have purchased. Fast even pieces and good gor a one man operation
Right on
The conveyor is working great!👍🍺👍
Hi Scheib, love the upgrades-last time i watched one of your vids you still had the rugged split as your main weapon-very awesome
Good video bud. Once all the kinks are ironed out on the conveyor is will be invaluable.

That's called repurposing! The "scrap" is just for your wood stove, that's pretty awesome. The splitter is awesome, the conveyor awesome. 😆
I think using the word awesome is awesome!😊
Awesome video. Great setup. Your going to really enjoy that. Now all you need is a an auto stacker....be blessed
Nice set up there. Working smarter not harder
That conveyor works great, with the splitter and conveyor you can split a lot of wood quick
You are rocking out the wood today my friend. Love that splitter it does a great job of making wood!!woo
Great splitting session. Lickety split👍
Really nice set up Scheib !!

LOL! Scheib, looks like you are building an impenetrable wall around your property line with firewood. Pretty impressive.
I know, right?
Lookin good buddy! 🍻
I personally believe that you should put the small stuff in with the big stuff, people always love the small stuff for starting fires.
Awesome stuff Scheib! You have one hell of a setup for sure. Take care brother!!!
Thanks, you too!

Great set up there buddy 👍👍🇺🇸🪵🪵
That's a fine Pilsner Scheib
Stumbled across your channel and love your videos! I think i know the soundrack during the time laps from Andrew Camaratas videos :)
Welcome aboard!
Nice Scheib. I would love to run some of that nasty red elm through that machine to see how it does with that nasty crap. Take care pal.
Great job on splitting and u are awesome 👌 👏 👍
I’m liking that conveyor, we used one to load corn bins with shelled corn before we went to augers. I don’t miss moving one that large around! Reno
Awesome video and have a blessed day
Thank you! You too!
That grate towards the top of the conveyor was to get loose corn 🌽 from the cob corn when you put it in a crib to dry. If loose kernels went in the crib it would pack in and without airflow would spoil. A little FYI. Peace
Ours had hooks at the bottom of the slide to attach a chop bag to it. Feed for the chickens.
I used mind for Kindling, it works great. Good video Scheib.
Great setup!! That 12-22 is going to give you a workout try to keep with rounds!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
When the conweyor is fixed 100% your setup will be great. The only problem is when you produce a lot of wood there will be a lot of stacking also 😄😄

In my opinion, a bad idea.

You had said something on one of your live stream the you were looking for ideas for a shirt your logo on the front and you have been wooooood
On the back
You’re cookin’ with gas now brother!
Works good Scheib, you'll fix the hiccups and it'll b like new.

Awesome video 🇺🇸🪓🪵🇺🇸🪓🪵🇺🇸🪵🇺🇸
I stack the “waste” into my stack which gives me smaller fire starting materials as I take the wood in to use. Nice video. Thanks
Cool, thanks
Decent load
Thanks
Those kindling sized pieces would be good size for a smoker.
I like that trailer u using to move firewood with. Where you find it at I would like one of them
Nice stacks, I like to use that method, but just make the middle row higher so it provides natural pitch for run off
What are you going to do with the Ruggedmade
It looks like the wood split with the easton made stacks a lot tighter, looks like a better stack
What's the smallest size you can make with the box wedge? If oak takes a year an inch... Can you get down to a 2x or 3x for under a 2year dry?
If you have straight grained stuff you can make it 1.5x3.5ish but once the box wedge is down that low it is no longer locked in and could just float along with the grain.
@@OutsidewithScheib so locking it in place what's the smallest
Awesome 👍👍
good video
How will it work having a business in a residential area? Not sure the neighbors will appreciate the noise?

Another "AWESOME" video. You're soon going to need a bigger wood yard.

W that chain not breaking when that piece flipped, you need to snug the chain or better yet take a link out
I see what your sayin but if the chain would have had more tention it could have turned out just a bit differnt.

Maybe you could get a Easton made elevator and bring your elevator to sushi 🍣 Sam
Nice set up! Did you get any other wedges with your splitter? Mine ships end of this month and i ordered the tall 4 way and the 6 way.
Yes I did I have the tall 4 also.
I believe I would leave the conveyor long.
Start getting transport loads of wood in your going to need them !!!
Your output doubled or quadrupled, and you dont have to wrestle with the chunks anymore.
This should keep you in the wood business (without wearing you out) for another 20 years.
Gotta have the beer holder. Just aint right not to have one.

6 pushes for some rounds is 5 pushes. to many.
8 way 1 push more time for a cold one
Thanks David an 8 way would make just over the size I like to sell the box wedge is a better fit for me.
I will apologize for calling it trash but that's what it looked like to me, since your explanation of the usage I understand because there is certainly a lot of leftovers from the splitting.
