Goan Stew Recipe | How to make Goan Style Stew | Best Beef and Pork Stew | Goan Wedding Speciality

  • This classic Goan stew was served at Catholic weddings in Goa before the buffet system was introduced. It is now prepared by many Goans for various festive occasions.
    The Goan Stew usually consists of beef, pork, vegetables & macaroni but you could make it with any meat of your choice including chicken. This flavourful stew is usually served with sliced bread or pulao. (Personally love to have it as it is as a wholesome meal without any bread or rice 😊.)
    Ingredients:
    500 g beef (boneless)
    1/4 tsp pepper powder
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp lime juice
    1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
    500 g pork (boneless & skinless)
    1/4 tsp pepper powder
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp lime juice
    1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
    200 g elbow pasta/ macaroni
    1 tbsp butter
    1 tbsp salt
    2 litres water
    1 cup milk
    1 tbsp butter
    1 bay leaf
    1.5 inch cinnamon
    6 cloves/ laung
    1 chicken stock cube
    5-6 garlic cloves, finely chopped
    3 large onions (1.5+1.5), finely chopped
    2 tomatoes (1+1), finely chopped
    3 medium potatoes, cubed (250 g)
    3 medium carrots, cubed (200 g)
    1 cup green peas (200 g)
    2 tbsp (1+1) butter/ oil
    1 bay leaf
    1.5 inch cinnamon
    6 cloves/ laung
    1 chicken stock cube
    1 tsp pepper powder
    Salt, to taste
    Hot water, as needed
