I'd heard of the Killers through my kids but had never listened to them. My mother was an Andy Williams and Moon River fan so I've heard the song many times through the years. I thought they did a great job so I listened to a few more of their songs and I think they have a new fan.
He always ends his concerts with the instrumental version playing as people are leaving and it always makes me so nostalgic missing my mother as it was her favorite song.
Brandon's voice is awesome, plus he write some fantastic music himself. Poor Andy Wiliiams, who had a huge hit with this song back in the early 60's, is sadly about to pass away. God Bless him.

As stated earlier, this is Morrissey's version of moon river, not the original. If you heard Morrissey's version, it is more haunting and depressing (what did you expect?) The killers' version is a little more optimistic, but it still works. I'm a fan of both, so no complaints here.
