Good documentary. Amazing people. I grew up in Cleveland. I never knew the stories behind the Cleveland families, businesses, and buildings. All this explanation is very eye-opening. Today, 2024, Cleveland is re-inventing itself on these foundations.

A great article that needs to be heard by everyone in America, what a lesson in giving and following Gods word and the results thereof. Thank you Barron Pilgrim.

Godliness, as far as I understand it, doesn't look like murder, massacre, extortion, etc (all well-documented--and the myriad families who lost loved ones and breadwinners either by being murdered or put out of work because he desired complete control, might find this particular form of following God's word rather "Old Testament" if you know what I mean, if it's following at all, that is. As far as I can tell, the gospel Jesus preached was not based on "earthly" wealth building, and certainly not taking other's lives in order to better your own. Hopeful we can stop lauding and praising these robber-barons & attributing their success to godliness and call it what it is: greed.

Broke my heart when they took down the Standard Oil signs on the corner and turned the old gas station into a buy here/pay here lemon dealership. I'm not from Cleveland but I often feel like I'm the only person in town that appreciates or knows the local history at all 💔

Would you endorse his use of wholesale massacre (regard Ludlow, Colorado in 1914 for one such example), extortion, price-fixing, etc, to be a good example for the world to follow? If we all followed in his footsteps, I'd venture the world would look even darker than it already is. Not a man to laud or praise, really. Even Al Capone who's said to have murdered 700 people, gave in spades to those in need. When we butcher people, literally, to gain our fortune, we should be disallowed from being called great.

Read “God’s of Money” by F. William Engdahl.
It is not a Rockefeller friendly book.
The first three generations of the Rockefeller family are the BRAINS behind the American 20th Century.
Master Chess players were employed by them throughout key institutions.
They are the brains behind the rise of the US at the expense of the British and German Empires.

Just like Henry Ford, the originals were the deal, not their spoiled rotten offspring.
No one should inherit a fortune. Once the founder of wealth dies, all the money should go back to the public Treasury minus final expenses and a minimal stipend for readjustment for the family to a normal life like anyone else.
