I use GeForce on all types of laptops including one worse than the one you used here. My old laptop is over a decade old and has no lag just delay. There may be a specific issue with that laptop or it might be your WiFi which it tends to lag when your WiFi isn’t the best. Also GeForce doesn’t really heat your laptop because it isn’t actually the game it’s just streaming. Basically you connected a gaming pc to a monitor and play on the monitor with some delay. Your laptop is the monitor. That’s metaphorically how I’d explain it. All I’m saying is it might be your WiFi or your laptop because I have no issue. Make sure you’re playing in performance mode lowest settings for much better fps, less delay, and less lag. Also make sure you have at least 5G WiFi as that’s what GeForce suggests and make sure it’s actually installed and you aren’t playing on the web because the web is practically unplayable. And lastly make sure your laptop doesn’t have tons of files especially useless or huge ones. Ensuring/fixing these things WILL help.

Putting a cheap SSD breathes new life to these older laptops for general use, not for gaming but they can be quite snappy for not intensive tasks or even gaming for old games from the 2000s
Quick tip for all you GeForce gamers, if you go to task manager and set priority on GeForce to high then the input delay wont be nearly as bad. It worked for me.

Another idea was to upgrade the HDD to an SSD, but it would still be useless regardless.
