    John and Catherine are a husband and wife team from Southern Connecticut. We grow food and flowers on the new 40 acre farm we just bought and are building from the ground up using reclaimed materials whenever possible.

    Ok, for getting rid of stumps specifically, if you got the cash, may I recommend getting a stump grinder, or paying someone to come grind them for you. Their relatively quick, and basically turn it to mulch for the ground. The leftover roots can just be left to rot if you don't want to perform maintenance from chewing up the teeth on the ground as often.
    The other thing you can do, is get a wench system to help pull out the stumps rather than creating a ramp to go scoot it out of your hole.

    Awesome tractor. Good choice on the heavy duty sub frame model. The 3 pt hitch would get destroyed. Did the sub frame lower your ground clearance though? You'll get a ton of things done around the farm with that machine.

      @OldReddingFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It did lower the ground clearance a little, but not much more than the backhoe itself. Subframe connects right to where the loader subframe is mounted and actually puts a good chunk of steel between the ground and one of the filters so I'll take it!

    Super nice tractor! Nice setup for sure! I wish we had one of those around the place. About to buy an additional acre thats right next to our current property line. Had a few giant trees that are down so this tractor would come in super useful! Good to be careful not pushing your new equipment too much as Im sure that thing is not cheap to fix!

      @OldReddingFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's awesome that you can get another acre!! That will be awesome for you! For sure a tractor would help get some downed trees cleared up. Maybe theres someone near by with one who could help? we met our across the street neighbor who owns a big excavator (and saw mill!) and he is coming by cutting down HUGE oak trees and taking the wood and cleaning up the mess in exchange.

    Make sure to invest in a good grease gun or one of those battery powered grease gun. The fittings should be greased regularly 🤙

      Yup we got the every 10 hours talk from the dealer. We got whatever grease gun we got from Lowes, maybe at some point we will get a better one.

    Kubogy makes an excellent back-hoe, VERY Sturdy, but sooo- sloooww. Don't think it can Ever be broken. After 50 hrs l was a master,reason being my chickens come running to get all the delectable underground morsels, and haven't "fricaceed" one yet( have 810 hrs now). I have dug out aproxxamatlly 50 stumps your size with a 18" pin-on bucket. With your l4701@ 7.8 gal/minute campaired to my MX5200@9.8 gal/minute, l think l would "fall asleep" running your rig. At 750hrs l had to do something "drastic", couldn't stand just using 2 1/2 controls at once & revving the "Kubogy" to the " Moon".
    Figured out the feed on the loader valve &output hoses were designed for the smaller output L versions( all that "proformanced-matched" mumbo-jumbo Kubogy is so proud about. So l "Suped" the hydraulic system UP.!! Did NOT change the pressure (This WILL cause breakage& void your warrenty), but changed "restricted hoses&fittings". Now l can use 4,yes FOUR controls at once with decent speed ,but with no more "breaking-forces" than original specifications. Note: it would be way TOO FAST for a beginner & Kubogy must of though so too!! A smaller bucket like a 12" would be better for stumps(Just got one @ 900$) [ the pain]. I like "angling-tilting" side ways to get under the stump when it is almost out. Happy lever pulling Sir &thanks fer vidio.

    Is this that tractor Kubota gave you after you gave them all your money 😂

    • @OldReddingFarm
      @OldReddingFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, wasn't that so nice of them? They gave us this backhoe too.. same deal. They're really stand up people over there.

    The fast forward shit doesn't help at all...impossible to judge the smoothness and speed when trying to decide whether to buy this (the BH92 portion, already have a Kubota MX), a used M59/M62, or a used 4 ton excavator. Obviously a mini-ex is better, but by how much? For someone who isn't using the equipment everyday (wants vs needs and cost justifications).

    • @OldReddingFarm
      @OldReddingFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      the bucket and boom can be smooth, going side to side can be a little jerky. the main thing to consider with either the BH92 on your tractor or a TLB vs an excavator is whether you need to move. I love the backhoe, but you need to back up to a spot, drop the stabilizers and switch seats in order to use it. If you need to make a small adjustment to the angle of your dig, you have to raise and reset.
