OMG! Reminds me of an 18 year old emaciated, dragging his back paws when walking cat I literally stole a few years ago. Vet said I had saved him but I lost him 1 month later. Rudy. At least I know he knew he was loved at the end of his life.
THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. By seeing past the problems and giving beautiful Matilda the chance, you showed her that there is love and kindness in life for her to enjoy, and not all humans are bad. You might have only had eight weeks together, but I can promise you she was sooo grateful to have met and loved you. And I am sooo grateful to you for giving Matilda eight weeks of a beautiful life, the life she should have had all along. ‘Thank you’ really doesn’t convey my gratitude to you for having such huge hearts and giving Matilda, and other precious innocent babies, a chance at the beautiful life they ALL deserve.
This is a truly beautiful story. I suppose this touches me so much because I had a cerebral hemorrhage when I was a child and undiagnosed brain damage. I was finally diagnosed when I was eleven years old. The surgeon's couldn't believe that I was even remotely normal. Thank you for loving Matilda and giving her a chance. She was extremely lucky to have you in her life.
This is truly sad. I'm so happy she had eight weeks of love, understanding, and food. Thank you for allowing her to feel love before leaving this world.
People like the people that dumped her disgust me utterly. I am ashamed to be the same species as them. I'm not sure that even the courage and compassion of people like Bronwyne are enough to balance out the harm done to companions like this little fursister. Bronwyne, thank you so much for doing what you do.
Oh, Matilda, what a beautiful little girl you were. You are now over the Rainbow Bridge free of all your disabilities. Rest in peace sweet girl. For everyone that played a part in Matilda's rescue and remaining time on earth, thank you so very much, she deserved all the love and attention she got.
just been watching the vids on rescued maltese, my mind can't get round why a person would do this to these gorgeous dogs, wish there was some physical thing that I could do,am on a pension so can't afford to give money, might try to find a maltese group here in adelaide
gajacome1 it was not clear what was wrong with Matilda when she was first rescued. Vestibulitis is what the vet first thought and that resolves in up to two weeks so we treated her for that. When that did not work, I pursued an MRI and had her assessed by a professor of Veterinary Neurology and an Ophthalmologist and they both assured me that she was not in pain - no pressing of her head which indicates headache, no loss of appetite. Each dog is different. I have no regrets about our time together and I would never knowingly let a dog suffer. Trust me, I have seen suffering in dogs and I know what to look for. I hope this gives you some comfort.
This has to be the most disgusting thing I have ever watched, are you that self righteous than you would keep that poor animal alive suffering everyday? The humane thing to do is have the vet put her under
Thank you for giving this sweet little dog eight weeks of love and happiness. She loved every second of it, I could tell.
Thank you Bronwyne to given this little dog a few weeks off happiness.
