Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen. Chapter Nine

Here we are with a new chapter of Pride and Prejudice.
The story does have some interesting character turns that go beyond the sarcastic attitude towards the rich and those out of touch with the usual difficulties in life. Much of what goes on is unspoken, and illuminated by the actions and descriptions of the characters rather than what they say.
Some of how Austen writes I would say the sentences are sometimes unnecessarily complex, and this comes across in the narrating. It isn’t that there is anything wrong with complex sentences, phrases or paragraphs, it is just that where there is a simple thing to say it can be done simply, and here and there, a minor issue is written with more complexity than needed.
It doesn’t detract from what is obviously an enjoyable and interesting book.
