Centering Racial Equity in Our Seattle Comprehensive Plan

The One Seattle Plan - our updated Seattle Comprehensive Plan - will guide City decisions about where we locate housing and jobs, and where and how we invest in transportation, utilities, parks, and other public assets. Our goal is to make the city more equitable, livable, sustainable, and resilient for today's communities and future residents.
One goal of the One Seattle Plan is to center equity it its planning and engagement process. This presentation explains the historically and systematically exclusionary policies, land use and planning practices that have produced many of the current inequities we see in Seattle today. It walks viewers through these current challenges and explains how the One Seattle Plan will seek to address their root causes through the creation of policies that support the creation of a more sustainable, resilient, and equitable city.
