    Great video!!
    I have had LoJack in my vehicles for years. I volunteer for Law Enforcement 20 years and they all recommend LoJack. I changed after I had my awesome 1993 Ford Explorer stolen in the 1990s from inside the Ford Service department and it was in a lift bay even at night &:was located by Maryland State Police 3 weeks later on the shoulder of i495 in Maryland. Insurance doesn't reimburse you anything for a stolen vehicle until missing a month. No damage thankfully just 400 extra miles and dirty and muddy. The Ford Service Department had my Ford Explorer fully serviced and detailed for free even got 4 new tires 👍😎👍🇺🇸

    Out in my area, my cousin worked with an elderly lady who had her car stolen and she went to the police because she had gps on the car and the cops pretty much told her they couldn’t do anything about it so she got ticked off and with the help of her grandson they tracked the car down, found the kid that was joy riding and she toke the kid stuffed him into trunk of car and brought him to police station, which they arrested her for kidnapping at first, because kid was a minor but she had put a report for stollen car and the kid admitted to taking car she got off. She was mad and told cops it wasn’t fare she got arrested for doing there job, but they finally let her go. The police gave her a hard time and the runaround about the whole thing.

    Years ago I bought a Tattletale alarm for my RV and ebike. The eBike alarm can also be wrapped around a barbecue, motorcycle, or technically even a pile of wood! When I'm traveling in my RV and decide to stay in a hotel, I just set it up in the motorhome. I also wrap the separate "rattlesnake" alarm around my eBike. It will sound a loud alarm and also text me if someone tries to steal it.

    Wow, great idea. Our truck was stolen last spring, we went out to see if we could find it and we did in the next town over. They stole the whole hitch off the truck, the radio, and all our camping equipment. Just make us so mad that someone would steal our things, I totally understand your daughter's frustrations. Like the ebike tracker device. The 1 thing I'd do so it doesn't look so obvious is to paint the device white so it blends in colorwise & looks like part of the ebike, making it less likely to be stolen.

    Onstar can shut down the vehicle and DOES track it's location if you pay for the service. Police can have access to it. It can't be disabled easily. It can be added to any car/truck. It is standard on EVERY new GM vehicle and many older ones.

    My Pop up Camper was stolen from me. I had chains, locks on my hitch & someone took the time to cut through the chains & locks.
    I still feel the pain of loss from that experience. I will never be able to replace my Camper.
    I bought my Camper as a inheritance gift from my now deceased Brother.
    I reported the theft to the Police. The Police told me they believe someone took it up north, in the deep woods, as a hunting shack.

      Endless RVing recommended this same device. He is a police officer, and he recommended the same device and brand to be able to recover your rig if stolen. You can set geofences such that if the RV moves outside of the geofence it will notify you immediately. Then you can track it as it travels and notify the police immediately. There is a small monthly fee I believe Izzy said it was 12.00 dollars a month. That is cheaper than having your whole rig or truck gone permanently. Also, the faster the police can get to it the more likely it is to be in one piece and all your stuff still in it.

    The car that you showed is just like the car that my neighbor had stolen one night. She knocked on my door one morning asking if I had seen anything. I had not noticed anything which was weird because I check when I hear sounds outside my window. Her car was parked right next to mine. That said, mine is 20 years old and has almost 200k miles on it and the bumper is hanging crooked because I hit a curb. For me it would have been a pain in the arse as I am getting ready to go back to work after 2 years of disability leave of absence, so not in a place to buy a new car. That said, my car isn't worth much of anything. I love it! Still has not got a whole lot of value! I laugh because it can't be flat towed and will need a trailer to tow it. Yes, the trailer will cost more than the damn car will cost to tow it. It is paid for though, and it is a super cute car and fun to drive. Mostly, I will be buying an RV and I don't want to buy an RV and a car this next year.
    I am a solo female, so I was totally planning to buy something like that mini max gps tracker so when I go on hikes by myself my family will know where I am. I was also planning to put a GPS tracker on my MH. Beyond that I was planning to have my cousin help me add a switch to my MH in an odd place that will cut all power to the MH motor electrical system. Now that I am thinking about it. I could do the same thing with my car. Funny story, when I was married, I was the one who used to leave the lights on all the time. My now ex had driven the car, and he was so good about turning the lights off on the car, but this one night he had for some odd reason left the lights on. That night, some gang members tried to steal our car. The battery was dead. We knew it was a gang member because they left us a note telling us our battery was dead. They riffled through stuff, but we never kept anything worth stealing in the car. They did leave some of their stuff in the car when they left. It was so weird! We had the biggest laugh because that was the only time, I think, he had ever left the lights on in a car and caused a dead battery. A switch that disconnects the electrical system might be a clever idea and give your daughter some peace of mind. I watch a channel that do part time RVing and he is a police officer and he suggested in his last video to add a switch to a motorhome that would make it such that someone couldn't just drive off in your rig. Also, said to make sure your rigs are always locked. A deterrent will stop the lazy ones. Also, lock the doors to your RV when you are not in them so that you don't get surprised when you walk back inside and have someone inside your RV that doesn't belong inside. I make it such a habit that I locked a maintenance man in my apartment with all the security locks that we have, to keep people from getting in when we are alone. He could just unlock them, but I had to laugh that I just do that every time I shut my door.
    I also like the idea of my trailer having GPS on it too, so if it moves when I have the car, I will know immediately.

    There is a YT video (don't remember the name) for how to not get a trailer stolen. This man made his own metal container, welded it himself, to go over the ball hitch and it would have been extremely difficult for a thief to steal it unless they had the tool to cut through the metal. He walked the viewer through the process of making this device. He didn't want to market it, as many viewers suggested, but it was a very clever solution he came up with. Probably can find the video by searching for how to keep a trailer from being stolen.

    The trucks that are getting stolen are the older ones without a chip in the key. The only newer trucks that are getting stolen are the ones people are keeping the remote key fobs too close to the truck.

    Sorry to hear about you family's loss; hopefully covered by insurance! We had our TT stolen on Good Friday of this year, and the police did...nothing. Apparently there are roving gangs of homeless people running amok Portland stealing everything, and anything that isn't nailed down. Even with a hitch lock, they shot it off with a shotgun, then ran off with it in the middle of the night. They even ripped out the power cable from the trailer so they wouldn't be able to power up anything. Before that, they stole both empty propane tanks, and both house batteries. I was in the middle of fixing it back up before they did that, and had over $2K into it. Then they stole the battery out of my F-150, causing me to loose my insurance due to no reading of the OBDII dongle. Best antitheft device is a steel boot, affixed to the vehicle's wheel, which is what the government uses with vehicles that can't be towed. Robocop had a pretty good deterrent to auto theft also. The OBDII passthrough would have to function as that is how most states do emission testing. Safe, and hoppy travels from The Boondocking Brewer™!

    If an air tagged item comes to within 100 ft of an Apple device the location will pop up in “find my” on the device of the person who has lost it. People locate stolen computers and phones that way all the time.

    Last year I had three guys case my RV while I was in it and just before they got out to break in after honking the horn real loud to make sure no one was in the vehicle I decided to show my face because if I let them come to the door they might kill me because everyone has a gun in the Skagit Valley. As soon as they saw my face they sped off. Fortunately for me the stupid bastards came back that night and I circled their vehicle from behind came up to the window with bear spray and confronted them and I said if you guys ever try to break in my vehicle I’ll get my gun out which I don’t own But they didn’t know that ha ha. These days you cannot leave your vehicle of any kind alone at any time even if you’re in At Walmart parking lot you’re vulnerable. I took photos of this vehicle from the side and behind before confronting them and I turned them into the sheriff and the DNR. They said they’ve been watching them but they can’t be everywhere

    Now that you have shown this to us...the bad guys... I think the answer is charge thieves to the fullest extent of the law especially on the value of the stolen items. Next, manufacturers need to step up the plate. They want track our travels and send maintenance alerts, give tracking information to law enforcement to recover and prosecute.

    • @lauravictorious4670
      @lauravictorious4670 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem is, in some places you have district attorneys who aren't prosecuting crimes. Stores are closing down in some places because thieves can steal up to $1000/day without being arrested. Per day! Even Antifa members are being paid for injuries they suffered from THEIR rioting. Crime is being weaponized and incentivized. Just don't make a mistake on your taxes because THAT will be held accountable.

    DO NOT WASTE MONEY BUYING A SPECIAL TOY! FYI ALL newer vehicles, 2000 forward, are equipped with a GPS tracking, so the finance companies can find the vehicle to make repossession easier. Soon as a vehicle is stolen, take the police report to the nearest Dealership of the Make of the vehicle, the Dealership will then be able to pull up the GPS records of where the vehicle is located, give the location to the Police, Vehicle may be recovered within hours, instead of never. Even if it is an OLDER VEHICLE OR AN RV has a SATELLITE RADIO INSTALLED, the vehicle has a GPS tracker.

    • @EnjoyTheJourneyLife
      @EnjoyTheJourneyLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We would disagree with "ALL" newer vehicles have trackers. Only a few high end or upgraded vehicles have them or if the lender added it so they could make a vehicle loan to a higher risk buyer.

    • @glindathegood4007

      @@EnjoyTheJourneyLife WRONG If a vehicle is financed it automatically has the tracking device activated. Vehicles that are not financed have an UN-Activated tracking device. I worked in the Transpo/Security Industry, tracking devices started to be installed with the trend of Car Phones back in the late 1970s, early 1980s.

Audi, BMW, All divisions of Mercedes Benz, All Divisions of Volkswagen, Astin Martin, GM, Ford, Fiat, Maserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porche, Rover, Morgan, etc . ALL THE MAJOR MANNUFACTURERS are now putting tracking devices in the Product. The Factory installed trackers cost nothing, and upon the Owner's request will the tracker be activated. Take a walk around Dana Point, Amelia Island, or even a regional Concours Like the Milwaukee Masterpiece one year, you will overhear the guys talking about the security systems.
