You could see the pollution and you could not see a mile away! Pollution laws changed that greatly. The thing with city driving is that much of it is the car waiting in traffic. My car does not have to idle! I wish that you get to see someone having an asthma attack being unable to breathe. It is not about me! It is about others. May you have a vivid learning experience! My Prius is 15 years old. It has 260,000 miles on it. It was actually the cheapest car choice I could make and has proved its excellence. @ln5747 ปีที่แล้ว

@@michaelbaka4777 true, but many Jap cars won't need any repairs aside from routine maintenance in such short periods. As an owner of an Audi A4, whilst not having anything catastrophic it is proving quite costly to keep on the road with the odd repairs that keep popping up. Compared to the Civic that I had before which never really needed anything other than routine.

    • @michaelbaka4777
      @michaelbaka4777 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@ln5747 Look, I was just agreeing with Scotty. If you like your car that's great. I feel that my car, being made in Germany, is a lot better than one made in Alabama. As far as repairs, we're talking TWO in almost 4 years. My Chevy truck has had at least 7 repairs done. I like Hondas, had many! And, they run almost forever. My point, where a car is built means a lot when you go to buy, both for build quality and resale value. I know I got lucky when I found my car; I'd wanted one for DECADES. I paid a very reasonable price for it, fixed the immediate issue with it, and except for that one other time, she has been flawless, in looks, reliabilty, and performance. My mech even told me I got a good one. I don't flog her around [much!], and take great care of her. Hope this shows my take on what Scotty mentioned about country of orgin.

Hybrid cars are bad for four reasons.
    1. They are more expensive to purchase.
    2. Hybrid cars receive an annual fuel tax. On the amount of fuel not purchased. Which is a scam. Electric vehicles are dubbled that amount.
    3. Hybrid vehicles are expensive to maintain.
    4. The tyres that they ride on. Are a lot more noisy.

For my company car (4 yr lease, full maintenance cover incl tires) I went hybrid due to out of pocket fuel costs. It is a mid-sized SUV (BMW X3 30e) and I am saving a small fortune on gas where I live (~$7/gallon). Cut my fuel costs by about 75% per month (vs a Mini Countryman), as most of the mileage is city/country and at or under 45mph.Would I buy this car out, on my own dime...not a chance. Way too much technology to maintain after 4 years, even with an excellent maintenance record.

Omg,that's what sold me on my 80 240d manual I got a few months ago as a gamble because it was so clean.
At least I didn't get burned, not knowing alot about them at the time of purchase.
The most gentle push, and those doors close like a bank vault, quiet and solid.
And I'm sure it would be even better if it was all taken apart and clean out that 40yo dried out grease.
I can only imagine how the higher end Mercedes were at the time.
I kind of have an itch for a 91 560sec,that's as new as id dare to go.

And fact he says he's in Tennessee for only three months and then back to Rhode Island and encourages people to bring their vehicles by for him to work on. I really don't like these false advertisement on Scotty kilmer posts nowadays.

My 2017 rav4 has no left high beam. It’s Not the bulb. Right high beam works. I replaced the headlight relay. I had both high beams working for about 5 minutes. Then it went back to just the right high beam working. The relay I purchased is a genuine Toyota relay , denso, made in Japan. Am at a loss.

    • @JohnSmith-yv6eq

Perhaps try a contact cleaner spray in the socket whwere the relay resides...a new relay may have every temporarily "cleaned" the contact...and now is "dirty" again?

Can you view the backside of the socket's connectors (of the relay socket in the fusebox)..perhaps a wire there is intermittent contact, got disturbed by you inserting a new relay...worked for a short time...then lost contact through heat being generated (arcing)?
Was the original relay you replaced actually faulty?
If so did you dissect it carefully and look for burnt contacts inside?

I don’t think it was the relay. I’ve never had a Toyota relay go bad. The car is only 5 1/2 years old. Everything looks like new under the hood. It being a Florida car, there is no corrosion anywhere. My wife smacked the front bumper just about the time this happened. It’s a pain to take the bumper cover off to inspect the wiring. There is a relay clicking under the right front headlight, when the high beams are activated. It doesn’t show on the schematic though. Will be hard to get to.

As someone from AL, Mercedes has been making cars here for a pretty long time now. They've been pretty successful, too. You continue to take shots at vehicles made here - I think you're going to have to provide more than one or two bad experiences with Mercedes vehicles made in AL for you to make a blanket statement that vehicles made here are crap. Yes, you're knowledgeable. But making blanket statements based on small sample size is unwise, and quite frankly, it's a cheap shot.

From a mechanic I know who works on Mercedes Benz & BMW cars its the design, engineering, and poor systems integration that's degraded MB vehicles. They design the different 'systems' of their vehicles somewhat independently using specialized 'teams' (engine/transmission/body structure/ electronic systems/suspension systems/etc) and those teams (or team managers) don't spend the time to properly integrate and test all those systems together to work properly. If a flawed design is put into production it'll produce vehicles with lots of flaws, simple as that. The result is faults and failures that the customer has to deal with in their late model cars. Same thing for BMWs. And that mechanic thinks those MB and BMW cars are the best thing that's ever happen since all those problems mean he's never going to be short of work at his shop.
