Loved matrix but honestly Equilibrium reached me on a deeper level. First time I watched it I was hooked to my screen. It’s such a shame this masterpiece got buried. Finally after many years it’s getting the praise it deserves.. with the way our world is headed this is an important film to watch.

This movie is a masterpiece that was overlooked at the time (2002). The first time I had watched it was years later (2011), on TV, and it had given me shivers. It was way ahead of its time for its genre.

Best movie ever, is what I thought as a teen back then. It still kicks, but the "Gun Kata" stuff is kind of ridiculous and some scenes are kind of "action-cheesy" - in the best possible way. :D

Christian Bale just before everyone knew just how good Christian Bale was
I've actually met people who say Bale can't act. I tell them to watch this film if they think that because a lot of the character acting done by Bale here is very difficult to pull off. Especially when you're playing someone emotionless that begins to feel for the first time in his life.

@@userr_742I think it's because he's great with the subtle nuances of body language. He can communicate a lot through minute movements and expressions. I've always enjoyed seeing him act in anything. You're right, he does give 100%.
This film was ahead of its' time. In 2002, it would be considered an average sci-fi action film. In 2022, it would be viewed as a masterpiece and viewed as a warning for the future.
The costume designer should have gotten an Oscar for this movie. Brilliant.
Why are people comparing this to the Matrix? The only thing they have in common are epic fights, straight faces and black clothes. Apart from that they are totally different.

Found it in a pound shop and bought it there. The moment I saw it say 'the matrix meets 1984', I went HELL YES! I bought 16 movies that day for 16 pounds. Oh, I love poundland!
Underrated movie. Watched it again recently and enjoyed it more than I did when it came out. This, They Live, The Matrix and Dark City are brilliant

Screw rotten tomatoes, this movie is a 11/10.
Notice the jab wasn't shown in this trailer.........but regular schedule in the movie......... and the jab was called Equilibrium. This movie was excellent predictive programming for what we are headed into.
This isn't a prediction. Its a pride to the people behind all these. Some psychos love to expose some of their plans to everyone even they know, the people will just knew it only as a film and for entertainment only. That's irony.

Watched this yesterday. A superb movie which portrays the dangers governments turning authoritarian up to the level that they even try to control your emotions.
The film is a fine blend of action, emotions, as well as dread. Phenomenal performance by Christian Bale.

I remember watching this as a kid with my grandma, it was awesome and still is, one of my favourite movies; I’ll never forget all those dvd’s and cd’s you brought granny, someday I’ll see you on the other side and it’ll be my turn to share.
Probably the most Underrated movie of 2002. Liked it a lot.

Absolutely loved this movie. Everyone says that it's awesomeness stems from the action scenes but being a person of interest in psychology that was merely a bonus. I loved the suspense at every scene. Having the insight in the mind of a communistic nazi type whos also the most powerful enforcer of them all. The catch is that hes void of personality but he begins to feel emotion and starts to think about everything that the world is which causes many problems for every aspect of his life.. very interesting and entertaining. If anybody wants just good cinematography and sick fight scenes you can see something like John wick. I'm not a fan of Sci fi but I feel we need more Philisophical movies like this and the matrix. Design the action after the plots been refined.

Saw this film when I was under 10 years old. I'm 21 now and hadn't thought about this film for many years until today. Something in the news made me get flashbacks to this and all I can say is that I can only agree with the other recent comments. It's starting to look like we're a bit f*cked 😂

That's the movie in which being even an extra makes one proud as I can imagine. I still remember watching it for a very first time - very impressive. I like coming back to it once in a while. Strong script. Fun fighting scenes. And Preston with a Mona Lisa smile : )

I loved all the awakening sequences, including the music one. The dog shooting was awful, and I loved how he rescued one. Bale's acting was excellent!
