I've tried over a dozen 5mm wetsuits. None allowed me comfort in the shoulders, chest and arms. Last week, I bought this new wetsuit as well as the "Thermiq" boots and hood from the same set from Apeks. As Bob demonstrates in his video, these products are extremely well designed, robust and comfortable. It's almost as flexible as my new 3mm Bare-Revel. This new suit is expensive, but the attention to detail in its design is worth its long-term cost, like all other Apeks products. Ps. My dear Bob, a big thank you for the quality of all your videos. You speak calmly and clearly. Thus, you had no idea that you would also make life easier for French Canadian divers living on the other side of the border.
Benoit, Thank you so much for your comments on the ThermiQ suit. I agree it is a bit pricey but not too bad for the technology and comfort it provides. Again your nice words about my/our videos is very humbling. I have invested in excellent quality cameras/lens and audio gear, I speak to you and all that watch the channel, as if they are friends standing here with me. It's my pleasure to serve you all ! Beautiful wet suit, love the orange accents that Apeks are using these days, can you say, “Exotech”. Have fun getting out of that bad-boy, Bob…better have a partner near by.
LOL K-Dog.. yea, I use lycra socks, makes life so much easier getting into and out of these X-Men style suits. I like Swave Hair conditioner (coconut) inside too. Bob C
Great review as always Bob. I’m looking for just such a wet suit. Have you reviewed the new sharkskin titanium 2 suits that claim to have equivalent of 5mm protection?
Hi Scott, These are nice suits, I've not experienced the SS Ti2 suit yet. There is a new 5mm Waterproof W8 suit on it's way, that I seen and touched, that would be a strong contender for my $$. Regards Bob C
Hi NAA, Thanks for your question. I have to say, if someone is not well versed in the construction ( sewing, gluing, layering, etc) plus the actual ingredients of the raw neoprene resulting in a wide range of material quality and then the interior materials being used in this and a number of other suits out there. It's hard to say which 5 against which 7? I'm not trying to avoid your question, but without exact suit references it's difficult for me to say. Hopefully you understand what I'm referring to. Regards Bob C

I do not understand why any one would prefer no zippers on the hands and legs. Thanks for the review.
Good question! That is an excellent round table discussion... Regards Bob C
hi Bob
how does it measure up against a 7mm suit for warmth ? going from a 7 to 5mm may save me some weight
any thoughts on the warmth?
thanks
