First of all if this is a joke it's pretty funny If you genuinely think that, he's using what's called a loop pedal.You record a short sequence that loops throughout the song-like the tremlo sequnce here- a into the machine.Then you can stop playing and switch on the machine by pressing the pedal and it'll play what's was recorded as long as you need so you can play other parts like the melody.Hope this clears some doubts.

I remember when I was 7 or 8 years old, I was solo performing on stage in my school with a crowd of senior students and as I started dancing all the seniors booed at me. I was a kid, alone and that was my first ever performance on stage, and everyone started mocking me for idk what reason What kind of confidence would you take from that. My whole confidence was degraded but I tried to make a come back as I loved to dance. But partiality between teacher's favourites and someone who is actually trying to do better is insane here. I was barely given a chance and till this day I'm afraid to get back on stage. I hope you get the message. Even if someone sucks or can't do better, we must think about what our actions would do to them.
Idk about where you live but through my school no one ever booed or shouted anything negative to one who was performing something, if it was bad we just applauded, if it was good basically whole hall exploded to applaud and shout "OMG that was so good and so on" 🙄 No one got disrespected for their effort. Definetly more about culture differance, teached values and being decent towards others. Sadly they ruled out applauding when someone dropped their glass or plate at cafetaria 😅 Reasoning being people did it as "oopsie" for shit and giggles after sometime 😂
