I just stumbled across your video. From a former New South Wales Police Officer. Good luck and enjoy this incredible journey. Exciting times ahead indeed.
Hope it was retirement, we can't afford to lose any of you Bastards. Pretty grim out there nowadays and not a hell of a lot of support. Hope you are doing well. Take care Mate. From CC NSW
Welcome to Australia! Pleased to hear you have arrived with no last minute glitches or delays. Try to make time to just breathe and enjoy some exploring as you settle in and be kind to yourselves with this very big change. Very best wishes!
Wow welcome to Perth fro a Perth born & bred lad & my wife who is from Cornwell UK ( i met her when she was trevelling here & the rest is history) Perth is a booming modern city with major new infastructure projects & new housing & housing renovations happening everywhere at a cracking pace. We live in the northern suburbs close to Hillarys Marina (a short 5min drive) and love this northern beaches area is just stunning all the way as far up to Yanchep with many beach suburbs in between. We are heading to summer and the current windy mornings period weill settle down in Dec. When looking for a car highly consider a good used 4wd like a 150 Prado as your main car as it opens up a whole new life of coastal beach camping & exploring as you will notice majority of couples/families drive a 4wd for that reason. (back where you come from it is dominated by small cars but the dead opposite here with our big open roads) The northern suburbs is most popular for families coming from Ireland,Scotland & the UK and it is often affectionately referred to as "little Britain" My wife idolises her life here and thinks of Perth & WA as "paradise" and she now hates the cold and luvs our outdoor lifestyle especially our amazing coastline of endless beaches. What general area have you thought about living in and what location will work be (as that will influence your living locations but to be honest Perth people travel from all sorts of locations to go to work either by car or train etc or both if driving & parking at a train station if working in the city central) Anyway you are both in for the ride of your life that is for sure as WA is the 2nd largest State on the planet with 13,000kms of amazing coastline and has so much to explore and so much to offer - enjoy!!!!
Some great points, we’ll definitely be getting our hands on a 4WD - being able to drive on the beaches is an opportunity we don’t want to miss! Haven’t been to Hillarys yet but it’s definitely on the list, we’ll likely end up somewhere a bit more central (for now!).
From watching this you'd already be here in Australia. Welcome to Perth, the weather is just starting to warm up, you're going to love it here. There's also a pretty big community of expats, so you're not going to be alone. I can't wait for your follow up video, by the way.
TH-cam algorithm led me to your journey, and I think I'm smiling just as wide for the two of you! I'm about an hour South of Perth and have many mates who were in WAPOL but have now retired. It's not an easy job, but I wish you both all the very best wishes on your journey and can guarantee that you will absolutely LOVE Western Australia 🎉 Unfortunately you will be arriving here at the start of summer, so be prepared for a bit of a shock 😁 One last thing........I hope I never have to come across Jamie, if ya get my drift 😂
You'll have to get used to getting up early and enjoying the glorious mornings in Australia, especially autumn and spring. With all the sunshine we tend to live a rather active outdoor lifestyle in Australia and a lot of us like to get up at the crack of dawn and soak up the morning sunrise. Well, I do. I am old Aussie bloke from Brisbane. Welcome and enjoy your new life.
Greetings from Canberra and welcome to Australia! I hope it and we deliver everything you're looking for! Your story was possibly the best distillation of the experience of preparing I've seen on the TH-cams. So looking forward to the next part of the story (and all the best with the knees!)
What a great compliment, we just wanted to document the journey for friends and family and appear to have picked up some new friends in the process! Looking forward to sharing the rest of the journey 😊
Welcome to Perth! I immigrated 22 years ago after growing up in Cape Town and living in London for the better part of 10 years. Took me almost 4 years but I don’t regret a moment 🤸♂️
I’m so glad you’ve started this channel, we are currently just awaiting our visa approval.. also WAPOL!! Good luck and look forward to following along 🎉🎉
Us west Aussies are gonna have to start having proper English lessons at this rate 😂 Congratulations and welcome to the convict island, you will love it here 🎉
Good luck with the visa approval and then getting yourselves over here Emma! What a great opportunity for us all - we’re very grateful to WAPOL indeed 😊
Well done congratulations! Can I say make sure you do your family Christmas with your loved ones before you leave. Give them their gifts and their next birthday gifts wrapped & can’t open until the actual day on them. It’ll save you a lot of money. You can still send a gift as we but at least you’ll know they’ve got your gifts 🎁 on the actual day.
Well, It's been a while since you left the UK and hopefully you survived your trip and hopefully there's a part 2!! If so, welcome to Australia! Wishing you guys all the very best! 😎🐨🦘🦜🌴
Bloody whole lot better in 74 Mate. You must remember what it was like to just roam wild, instead of just roaming. And fuel was about 9 cents a liter. Handy if you had a 74 LH Torana with a 5 lt. Take care Mate.
Welcome to Australia. My parents came to Australia in 1962 with 2 kids and 1 on the way from Scotland. No internet, snail mail, expensive phone calls overseas etc. It always amazes me how often the new immigrants complain of the travel to Australia, we took 6 weeks by ship. Complain about being away from family when today technology allows face to face connection which is also basically free, unlike us who depended on mail because the cost of phone calls home was way way way out of budget.
Congratulations, I hope it is all that you are expecting and more.😊 nothing is perfect, but it is what you make of it and how you Handle it. All the best for your future..
How Exciting for you both, I’m a Sydneysider but also love Perth. You will love it there I’m sure. You seem a lovely couple and will fit in no trouble. It seems like your Dad is an Aussie with the Wallabies jumper on? Looking forward to your next Vlog. Good Luck … you will love it ❤❤
I spent 6 months in Sydney back in 2016 - loved it but looking forward to giving the west coast a try! Well spotted - Dad’s British but a big fan of Australia and spent a lot of time here while I was young and is probably a big part of the reason we’re here ourselves 😊
If you guys from. The uk Australia will change you life I am from Australia. A. Lot. Off people from the uk. Swedan Germany. Scottland moved here they live the life style of amazing. Beaches amazing weather. And. Much much. More. So welcome to Australia. Mate.
I just came across your channel. Welcome to Perth WA, and I wish you all the best for your new journey. From Mandurah WA (approx 1hr south of Perth). ❤
@sarahbolsontravel Mandurah's not going anywhere, and will still be here when you're ready to explore lol. You must bring your kids down to see the Mandurah Giants, and take them on the Mandurah Christmas lights cruise. Mandurah has lots of canals, that the local dolphins make good use of during the summer months (crabbing and prawning season). Google Mandurah Giants and Mandurah cruises, and you will see why 😁 🎄🎅🤶

My Aussie sons a Perth cop. I recall he said there are a lot of Brits in the force downunder. Good luck. Your welcome but be prepared for the hot summer weather.

We left Scotland in 1974 so any advice I can give you will be a bit dated. Where ever you end up in WA it's going to be hot. If you're up north it's always hot, If you're down south its hot some of the year and coolish the rest. Storms are great and cyclones are great fun but you'll find all that out soon enough. Check up on Medicare as I'm not sure if you get it straight away so take out medical insurance just in case Sarah's knees decide to have hissy fit when you get here.
Best of luck to you both. I actually did it the other way around. Moved from Oz to Europe 25yrs ago. If I was ever confronted with homesickness, I always thought I am only 24hrs from family and friends. Knowing that took the stress off. Best of luck and give yourselves sometime. P.S. Moving back to Oz in a few years. Europe’s great, but miss the nature, family and friends.

You're 4 years too late ... mining boom has peaked which caused rents and property prices to rise by 80% over this time. To make it in Australia you need to get in before the boom otherwise you are just left behind.
Just bear in mind from a 60 year old that was born here, Australia is a toilet now, a country where indigenous peoples vilify and constantly spit on Europeans. Everything is registered, banned and spoiled. It was a penal settlement and remains one. I myself am moving back to Ireland for om where my ancestors originated as I belong there, not here. As far as expensive here , its no worse then Europe PLUS West Australian housing is far less expensive than the majority of Australia is.
Haters are gunna hate.
I suspect misery accompanies this person everywhere.
Australia is very glad you've left.
