I am so pleased that I finally bought an air fryer - and especially pleased that I paid attention to the positive reviews of other users, and decided on this one th-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB . It is just perfect for the two of us, and takes up very little space on my small countertop. I roasted salmon filets for dinner tonight and they were the best ever - slightly crispy on the outside but moist inside. Best of all, no smelly kitchen or difficult clean-up. My only complaint would be the lack of even a few printed recipes to get started. My generation does not find it easy to access the QR code and use the smart phone app. I bought a recipe book instead, which gave me the confidence to experiment.

I bought one of those air fryer trays to turn my convection oven into an air fryer and I could not be happier - one less appliance in my small kitchen and a bigger tray than most air fryers have. I place the drip tray much lower down in the oven to allow more air to circulate and I get great results.

Try dusting your okra in cornmeal. Also dusting tofu in cornstarch before airfrying and then add to stir-fry. It will thicken your sauce. Steam your potatoes in the instant pot for 20 minutes before air frying. Lastly you can roast eggplant and peppers in it. I can't wait to try your sesame broccoli!

We have the ActiFry style with a paddle that stirs the food. It works really well for fried rice, and stir-fries. GREAT because you don't have to shake it or stir it at all. I love to make granola in it --perfect in about 7 minutes. You can also remove the paddle if needed, for more delicate items that might get mushed.

Awesome. I just received the exact same air fryer a couple of weeks ago as a gift! We are using it so much since then - so I’m very excited about some more ideas.
What goes really well in there, are also burger patties (like beyond meat). Mushrooms (like you did) are also a favorite of us, as well as sweet potato chunks. Basically everything that we usually would have fried in a pan or roasted in the oven now fires in there!

Grab some steamed or baked potatoes out of the fridge, slice how you like them, or cut in half and scrape with fork. The seasonings will grab on to the cold, moist potato. Y'all had me laughing :) I'm on my 2nd AF (wore the first one out and when it died I bought a new one that same day). It's great for the cooked items in big salads or burrito bowls. Just throw in some mushrooms or sliced zucchini, AF to perfection then throw in your salad or bowl. Almost anything you bake in the oven comes out faster and better in the AF. For potatoes if you want bigger fries it works better to pre-cook the potatoes to almost done. One of my favs is taking a fully cooked potato and just kind of mash/smash it up in the air fryer, sprinkle with garlic powder and black pepper, drizzle with hot sauce and/or soy sauce and air fry for a few minutes. It come out sort of crispy in places (leave the skins on) and still soft and creamy in other places. Can't explain but it's amazing. I call it smashed potatoes. Another thing I've done with leftover oatmeal is shape it into balls AF for a few minutes. ps: I hardly ever clean my air fryer. I consider it 'seasoned' as well LOL.

Thank you!!!!! My hubby brought home 2 packs of okra las week. (ugh!) I cooked one pack and they were ok... a tiny bit too slimy for my taste, so the second pack sat sadly in the fridge until today! Following your idea, I decided to air-fry them! They were cut in 3/4 inch rounds and seasoned with smoked paprika, garlic powder, and a spice mix rarely use. They air-fried for 20 min at 350 F. They were so nice, and crunchy, very little to no-slimyness...and yes, I ate it all! I found my favorite way to eat okra, thanks to you both! oh and get a handguard for your mandoline, please (speaking from experience here!) Blessings to you both!

    Twice cooked potatoes,
first time in the instant pot regularly,
(We often eat half at this point)
let them cool and put in the fridge
    Finally chop into wedges
and air fry them for 20 minutes
These remind me of chips (or fries)
    from a Chinese takeaway
    when I was a student
BTW if doing them from raw
    soaking the chipped potatoes
in cold water for 20 minutes
    draining thoroughly
    patting dry then air frying
    helps tremendously.

Sweet potatoes in the skin are incredible. They get really caramelized. Baked potatoes work great too. I microwave them for a few minutes and then air fry them the rest of the way. Skin gets crunchy, just like a restaurant. On occasion, I may make veggie meat and always use the air fryer. It firms the “meat” up for a better texture. Bread works well for croutons or bread crumbs. Reheating pizza is awesome too. I leave mine on the counter and I seem to use it everyday, it’s a great appliance.
