Thanks so much. My son’s MacBook Air told me the trackpad was acting weird and not responding. His charger got damaged so finally ordered and recharged it. Trackpad only worked in Recovery Mode but no response on Login. I found your video and luckily I had a USB keyboard (no mouse) and after using the arrow key I was able to log in. Once logged in the trackpad started working so I followed your instructions and now appears to be working. Hopefully that solved the problem. Thanks 🙏

How did you do an SMC reset without a working keyboard?? Is there any other way to do it? I tried with a usb keyboard but it just booted when I pressed the power button.
the keyboard works but only until the system starts to load, because if you hold down the shift key you can get into safe mode, so immediately after powering up the keyboard will still work
@@mikcsek2 I have a similar issue of this mac, but with a macbook 12" 2015... I tried so many times different methods, from the Smc Reset and this one but not working. No idea what to do right now, but for sure is a software problem because power button works and trackpad has force touch working

Press the Cmd + Option + F5 keys to open Accessibility Shortcuts. Enable Accessibility Keyboard from the list and the keyboard will open. Now, click Done. I got this off google and it worked for me .Good luck!👍🏼

Try this: system preferences > accessibility > pointer control > untick 'ignore built-in trackpad when mouse or wireless trackpad is present'
