Finally I just said, "I guess?..." and he picked a flower and handed it to me, then walked away. 🤦♀️ I felt kind of ridiculous for being so skeptical, cautious and oblivious, and making it so difficult, in retrospect. Always gotta know why!

We find it illogical and, therefore, useless, or at the very least, something we should aim to avoid in order to keep being the logical robots we innately are. We are, by default, repulsed by strong emotions, especially particularly love. It feels embarrassing to show emotions for us. This ofcourse is our default state and something all INTPs should work to balance out because at the end of the day we do live in a world that values emotions over logic.

Since he looked very uncomfortable talking to people in real life (even though he was part of my small group of friends) I tried to text him and he seemed slightly more open. So I kept texting him every day, and he seemed to enjoy it, and I could tell he was awkwardly trying to keep the conversation going. My suggestion is to try to approach them gradually and privately, not in front of others. They like intimacy. And observe how they react, pay attention to small details (small smiles, blushing, nervous gestures, stuttering). They really don’t like when people they don’t like get intrusive, so if they don’t like you, they are going to be kind but stone cold, even more detached, and they are going to purposely let the conversation die. They also usually hope their crush is going to be the one making the first move. So in conclusion, they are going to be more easily approached by people who make first moves, don’t misinterpret their reactions, aren’t too aggressive or intrusive, are playful but also someone who takes privacy and secrets seriously. This is just how I naturally am, so it hasn’t been difficult. But I understand the struggle, it requires patience and reading-others skills. I hope my personal experience will help someone else. And the overthinking cause us to ignore the relationship. Because we know ourself, if the girl is very social or out going, its very hard to maintain the relationship and she will hate you... Is it common that most INTPs can't see love given from other people because I do pretty easily but I feel like I can type myself near the the intp spectrum what personality would this be?
As an INTP it is difficult for me to tell how other people feel about me. Very difficult. People have to blatantly tell me how they feel usually and even then I'm somewhat skeptical.
you can't type yourself, therefor you're alreay wrong. nobody can type themselfs, whch is why th eonline mbti tests are all a joke. atleast if you consider what carl jung and myers briggs said about personality types, that you can never type yourself because consciousness is never objective and we have huge blindspots, esepcialy in our demons, which would be "Fi" in an INTP.
Super late to this, but I'm an INTP and i can always tell when someone likes me. Maybe because I'm actually quite attractive, so I've encountered more than a few situations of someone approaching me with romantic intentions. So often in fact that I just assume that's why they approach me in the first place, until the opposite is proven. This has led me to get it wrong more than once, but it was funny for the other person so no harm done.

well my sister and my best friend (we’ve been bsf for 6 years now) are both infps and i love this type a lot so yeah, i think it would be a rlly good match (btw intps r one of the most easy going type and they get along with pretty much everyone bc of this (things get harder though if u want to become really close to us)) for the “creep out” part i don’t think you’d creep an intp bc you want to be w them (actually it might flatter them and they’d like u even more bc u give them attention), but they might feel exhausted at some point if u REAALLY want to be w them 24/7 bc we’re the most introverted type, and we rlly need a bit of time for us yk what i mean anyways good luck on finding an intp cause...it’s kinda hard to become close friends w us (hope that helps!!)
Coming from an INTP, it depends on the person. If the person who's trying to be around us is someone very close, then I don't think we'll get creeped out but again I can't speak for all INTPs. 😀 Correct me if I'm wrong it seems like you have a crush on this INTP, try to be close with this INTP and give him signals that you like him/her and if that INTP likes you back then awesome but please don't try to force it, I think it won't work.
The problem is that it's difficult for us to approach to others. I'm 16 and an half and I've almost ~13 friends and I go out usually with just 4/5. I don't know what's the problem... I think I'm an awesome (bastard) person, i'm loyal, i'm happy and smart (I think); but the problem is unresolved. Try me If I understand the question correctly, as an INTP I would try to be of help and answer the questions with as much detail as I had deemed necessary. I would be cautious and not let any emotional display leak into the message as I would want that to come out at a better time.

So if he talks to you again in some time (like days, weeks or months later), then he's interested in you or at least wants to keep being your friend, he likes you.

Us INTPs have genius complex and cripplingly low self-esteem and often feel misunderstood mainly because we struggle to articulate our thoughts. So just tell ur crush that he is smart in a flirty/creative way ( write a little 3-4 line poem roses are red, v r blue...). Dont just be friendly, be more confident and flirty. I don't know how to explain, but I could say that they're pretty smart, which I think is very atractive, they are very rational/logical which makes them look like they're always in control whathever the situation is (which I like), they have like a mystical aura on them, full of mistery, also a very good (and weird) sense of humour which I love. Also, they are pretty reserved, I really like it. They're also very loyal and are good listeners. Me, an Infj, sometimes feel like I'm older than I actually am, and sometimes, younger. Smh, Intp's have the same energy to me, they can be really wise and reserved and rational, but they also can be really funny, silly and even cute, which I think is adorable. It's hard to explain, but I think maybe you'll get it?

I am the only INTP who can't fall in love my brain wont accept it
the sensation of fear or danger may get mistaken for love or sexual attraction. I say this from my own experience, I used to be in a toxic relationship with a man much older than me (11 years of an age gap, while I was just 13 years old at that time), and for whatever reason, I couldn't escape that relationship, even if I knew that what he was doing to me was wrong, I couldn't leave. We intp's are very susceptible to emotional manipulation. Relationships are nothing like those on tv, they may even give you more problems than what you already have. Let's face it, we don't like being in a relationship, we like being in love.

Since he looked very uncomfortable talking to people in real life (even though he was part of my small group of friends) I tried to text him and he seemed slightly more open. So I kept texting him every day, and he seemed to enjoy it, and I could tell he was awkwardly trying to keep the conversation going. My suggestion is to try to approach them gradually and privately, not in front of others. They like intimacy. And observe how they react, pay attention to small details (small smiles, blushing, nervous gestures, stuttering). They really don’t like when people they don’t like get intrusive, so if they don’t like you, they are going to be kind but stone cold, even more detached, and they are going to purposely let the conversation die. They also usually hope their crush is going to be the one making the first move. So in conclusion, they are going to be more easily approached by people who make first moves, don’t misinterpret their reactions, aren’t too aggressive or intrusive, are playful but also someone who takes privacy and secrets seriously. This is just how I naturally am, so it hasn’t been difficult. But I understand the struggle, it requires patience and reading-others skills. I hope my personal experience will help someone else. INTJ female here, there's this INTP guy at work whose been crushing at me since i started the job in Feb, we got to texting by end April, but just in a matter of 2 months he slid away & blocked me like he got scared of his feels or something .neither of us ever expressed our feelings & it took me half this time to just figure out he's into me! since the summer his interactions with me at work have been sporadic hellos here & there but he avoids me & just watches me from afar but has no problem talking & joking with EVERYBODY else. i hate my job now coz my female co-workers hate me for no reason & keep trying to sabotage my job & when i see him talking to them & ignoring me it feels like a knife in the heart!
it was mybirthday a couple weeks bk, so i shared cake with my co-workers & used the chance to slip him a note under his plate, dude acted like it had anthrax on it & tried to give it back saying "no! no!", i just ran away so he couldn't give it back, i wanted him to read it. i tried expressing my feelings although i held bk simply coz i wanna meet face to face & talk, i wanna look in his eyes, ya know? i asked him to mee tm e & talk & clear the air....we have the added problem of language, he doesn't speak english & my knowledge of the local lang. is very basic & google translator isn't always a help & with the way he texts in metaphors & shit it was really hard to understand him sometimes.
at this point i feel like a fuckin' asshole for putting myself on the cutting block coz nigga doesn't even tell me he doesn't want a friendship/relationship, just fucking radio silence! oh but he still looks at me when he thinks im not looking.
then 3 days ago there was some weird interaction between him & 1 of the bitches who hates me, another co-worker said some shit like why doesn't she go out with him (she has a bf btw) & she was like noooo he's too young & im too old for him....that was it, i bummed a cigarette off someone & went to the warehouse hoping to find a hole to swallow me up....30 seconds later, dude follows me...oh, but no he doesn't talk to me or even LOOK at me, no, nigga goes & sits his ass far away! i mean wtf was that? trying to make me jealous & then come see me crying or some shit? does he want me to hate him? coz im coming close!
before people start, no i don't believe he's toxic, i know he's depressed & wishes he was dead coz he thinks his life is hopeless & he's not financially stable, but i fucking hate it when guys intrude my heart space & then run away after making me fall for them, coz i was fucking fine on my own before they showed up.

Is it common that most INTPs can't see love given from other people because I do pretty easily but I feel like I can type myself near the the intp spectrum what personality would this be?
As an INTP it is difficult for me to tell how other people feel about me. Very difficult. People have to blatantly tell me how they feel usually and even then I'm somewhat skeptical.
you can't type yourself, therefor you're alreay wrong. nobody can type themselfs, whch is why th eonline mbti tests are all a joke. atleast if you consider what carl jung and myers briggs said about personality types, that you can never type yourself because consciousness is never objective and we have huge blindspots, esepcialy in our demons, which would be "Fi" in an INTP.
Super late to this, but I'm an INTP and i can always tell when someone likes me. Maybe because I'm actually quite attractive, so I've encountered more than a few situations of someone approaching me with romantic intentions. So often in fact that I just assume that's why they approach me in the first place, until the opposite is proven. This has led me to get it wrong more than once, but it was funny for the other person so no harm done.

Coming from an INTP, it depends on the person. If the person who's trying to be around us is someone very close, then I don't think we'll get creeped out but again I can't speak for all INTPs. 😀 Correct me if I'm wrong it seems like you have a crush on this INTP, try to be close with this INTP and give him signals that you like him/her and if that INTP likes you back then awesome but please don't try to force it, I think it won't work.

Try me If I understand the question correctly, as an INTP I would try to be of help and answer the questions with as much detail as I had deemed necessary. I would be cautious and not let any emotional display leak into the message as I would want that to come out at a better time.

@@orion5397 I'm not a boy, but I'm an INTP girl. In my opinion not answering back does mean that there's not enough interest. But... we INTP's tend to answer back very late. So if he talks to you again in some time (like days, weeks or months later), then he's interested in you or at least wants to keep being your friend, he likes you.

Us INTPs have genius complex and cripplingly low self-esteem and often feel misunderstood mainly because we struggle to articulate our thoughts. So just tell ur crush that he is smart in a flirty/creative way ( write a little 3-4 line poem roses are red, v r blue...). Dont just be friendly, be more confident and flirty. Also, they are pretty reserved, I really like it. They're also very loyal and are good listeners.
