I have that exact 2022 VB WRX in world rally blue. I’ve had it for over 3 months. I’ve gotten so many compliments for how it looks that it’s insane. Everyone in person says it looks amazing and pictures don’t do it justice. I’m so impressed with this car.
The wrc blue ones haven't done much for me but the black ones I've seen in person look really good, especially with the black wheels. Didn't like the pictures but it's definitely better in person
Same with my sapphire blue Pearl ‘22. “Is that the new WRX!?” It’s nice!” At the gas station or at the grocery store with my kids, my Subie gets compliments even tho it’s 100% stock.
This video got me to look at the both car that i was going for and I appreciated it because its more on like what is what sticks out not what the public think about or what the public sticks out
I had the 18' BRZ, now in the 22'wrx. Do I miss the brz? Yes. Was i more connected in brz? Yes. The brz was a amazing weaving car. And the 22Wrx is all of that just 1 click down. I got mine with the STI short throw and exhaust, and its worth every penny. Shifts are really good now. BRZ still shifts different and better.
The BRZ is a lot better than most think and as a 4 time WRX owner my 22 is the best one yet. Still, it deserves more power than Subaru gave it but it's still a great daily driver that is still fun and has enough power for the real world.
Cladding is whatever.. it's growing on me. Put some mudflaps on it, maybe even a duckbill spoiler and roll with it. Like you were saying, supposedly tunes are unlocking a lot more power from these. I just wish they'd use a closed deck block.
I thought the turbo engine was supposed to be a closed deck block and doesn't have head gasket problems. maybe that is older turbo Subaru? Also how's this one on burning oil? which years Subaru has this problem?
Dude DEFINITELY didn't launch the WRX hard (I don't blame him lol!). I'd be curious to see how he did it, and if he had traction control on. BRZ is kinda silly and over the top, but hey, you do you. Fun comparison!
I love the brz but my 7 year old couldnt fit in the back seat (no leg room) so wrx for me but I love the brz, beautiful looking car and top engine package
The new 86/BRZ puts around 215whp on dyno (roller type). So it probably had 240hp. Also, it's 600lbs lighter than the STI so it has a decent power to ratio. The WRX STI only takes in on dig start due to AWD and on top end due to having more power.
Nice video, you guys sound like good people. Keep grinding. I own a 23' BRZ and a 16' STi. I love them both. They are different cars in so many ways. In short, if you need some level of practicality get a WRX. If you want a time attack car with potential get the BRZ. I could go on and on but who has the time to read a novel ha ha.
Have one as well. Bought it in May. Had 2018 STi and a 2020 Sti and I rather drive this than the Sti. All i did was tinted mine, added doo4 visors, arm rest extension. Wanted 5he one with the wrx seats but that was sold. The premium with the short throw shifter. Is amazing with a few other add ones
I agree, it takes a while to get used to looks. There's some parts about the new wrx that look better and some that look worse. It still looks like a wrx to me, at least a VA wrx, not an impreza. Honestly I think you have the right take one the back, the diffuser looks so much better in person and the proportions are right; It will look much better once you drop it on coilovers it's just that stock ride height is high, and so it being 1/3 up the height of the bumper makes it look bigger then it is. Also looking at in person while standing up and not sitting behind it in traffic or from a photo, it looks a lot better. I feel like they upgraded the interior a lot, the old interior was a bit lacking for it's price-point versus competitors, the only downside is the head-unit but that's just a design choice, and will probably be facelifted eventually. I feel the thing the VA/VB got really wrong was the interior quality and stock tuning, this car might look different and more like other subaru models, but from the factory is a much better package deal then the previous gens; And even with all the inflation and costs for materials going up, they still kept the price under 30k so that's good on them. Honestly I'm just glad they're still making the car at all, and that it still has an ICE. I had a really hard time enjoying the stock tune VA wrx my friend had and it had really bad rev hang and just felt sluggish and handled much worse coming from a gt86. From what I've heard about this 22' model wrx it seems to fix a lot of the old problems people were having, and using the FA24 definitely helps low end torque and 0-60 times. The WRX is finally not a slow stock car imo, also the fa24 sounds way better then the fa20, less rasp.
Yes! I couldn't agree with you more, these cars have come a long way and look so much better in person, they've definitely upped their quality on these cars like you said and are definitely going in the right direction in terms of styling. Id say you're right about the last part with the newer wrx solving alot of the old issues, it feels much more refined! Thanks for the in depth comment, I enjoy reading peoples thoughts and feedback on my videos, and thank you for the support!
Can you make a video about the ongoing Silicon issue in the new 2022 BRZ and GR86? I think Suabru and Toyota need youtubers to call them out or they won't help us with this issue. I actually found silicone attached to my oil dip stick I wonder if you have ever noticed anything? Or have checked oil pick up tube?
@@B_levan I appreciate the video! I hope you don't have to through that problem and hope the dealer doesn't find anything on your oil pan. hopefully Subarua takes notice of everyone's concerns and I've already talk to Subaru customer support they said they need more people to complain or they can't issue a recall. I also have a scheduled oil change due Monday and I've already informed them that I found silicone in my dipstick and agreed to take a look at my car.
Quick question, I'm seeing a few TH-cam videos by guys talking about silicone in the pick-up tube of the engine. Potentially could be an issue. Are they using silicone instead of a gasket? That would really piss me off as this same issue happened on my 1996 Corvette where the silicone dried up and started leaking.
someone totaled my 2013 limited wrx and i'm gonna miss my sun roof lol. i think i might get the base 2022 and as much as i'm missing out on, i can never replace the sun roof 😂😂
Just saw the automatic wrx drag and roll race against a sonata n line and a gti got his ass spanked except from the line because of awd. I feel like BrZ will be way more fun , wrx is just more practical because sedan and awd

There are plenty of people who drive FRS/86/BRZ's all-year in Canada, so I'm not really sure what you're talking about. You put snow tires on and call it a day...
Cool to see a comparison, but I have tried so hard to like the new wrx but it just isn’t happening. Even with all of the painted plastics you can still see that it just isn’t a sporty looking car.
U definitely need way more money to make the new WRX look good compared to the old one. The old one all u need are wheels tires and coilovers imo but the new one u gotta paint match the fenders and fix the rear plus wheels tires coilovers
@@B_levan To be honest I'll take either car, Well since this video I actually bought the 2022 wrx premium. I had an FRS before but having the extra seats sold me.

Thank you! You're gonna love it!
So being 600lb lighter is faster than adding a turbo. Nice to se the BRZ/86 official has some balls now.
I really feel like the FA24D honestly made the GR86/BRZ the way they needed to be... so stoked for you dude. Hella excited to pick up a GR86.
