    great video...do more for different sizes or do you know what would be the best measurements for a newborn, 2yr old and, 6yr old

    • @aesinam
      @aesinam 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Tiera Woods just measure the circumference of child's head like she showed and the the circles the same way, using 12in. The elastic measurement (which is a couple in more than your child's head) will determine whether it fits your child or not

    I love the video and was all set with my 1/2 yd. fabric, but I could not fold it in a way that I could cut it to 12" to make the circle. When I folded it in half and in half again, the most I could get is 9". What am I doing wrong? My fabric is 54" wide so that's not the problem. Your instructions are great and it was just what I was looking for, except for the fabric size. Thanks! M.E.

      @KinkyKidsHairCare  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Did you open the fabric all the way out. When you open it you fold it hamburger style, then fold it again like in the video. I was able to make the bonnet with only a half a yard of fabric with no issues as seen in the video. I hope this helps!

    I think my fabric was too short it's 45" and I used 1/2 yard

    • @anamoye4356
      @anamoye4356 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      half may be too short its better to use a whole yard or you will have a seam in the middle

    What setting is your sewing machine set on that helps leave the 3 in gap as you sew along your pencil led in markers?

    • @KinkyKidsHairCare
      @KinkyKidsHairCare  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It shouldn’t really matter what length stitch you are using as long as you start and stop leaving a 3 inch gap to insert your elastic. My stitch length was 2.5

  • @burnettnewton5078
    @burnettnewton5078 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm trying to Ho by your instructions, half a yard of cotton fabric (18) inches. When I fold my fabric a second time I do not end up with 2 folds , I end up with a fold and a raw edge. I can't get a twelve inch round out of 18 inches. Need help

    • @KinkyKidsHairCare
      @KinkyKidsHairCare  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      when you purchase fabric off the bolt its normally 45-54 inches wide on average. Your fabric should be 18 inches long and 45-54 inches wide. You fold the fabric in half the long way and then again to create the square just like I did in the video.

    • @maryaldrich9436
      @maryaldrich9436 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I ended up buying 3/4 yd. piece of fabric and it worked perfectly. It's impossible to get a 12" cut on the fold with an 18" (1/2 yd) piece of fabric, no matter how wide the material. After cutting my circle (actually made mine 11" cut to make a smaller bonnet) I tried laying the circle out on the piece of 1/2 yd. fabric (that I didn't use) and the circle hangs off on either side. The 11" cut circle is 22" across, the 12" cut circle would be 24" wide...too big for an 1/2 yard piece before cutting.
