Please keep these little bonnets even after they out grow them to pass on to a great family friend or for the girls to pass along to their children when they're grown. Yw! I actually got the floral fabric from my local Joann store. The satin fabric was given to me by an older relative.
What size elastic for each? What is the baby size?
I always take off 3in of the actual head size. For example, if the child’s head measures 20in, I make the elastic 17 inches long. You don’t want it to be too tight, especially for the babies.

I believe this one was about 10-11 inches.
Is the outer fabric necessary? I want to make my 5 month old but she gets hot easily.
I use the outer layer for the design. I’ve seen some with satin only.

Pamela Kinnebrew I would mark 8in around for cutting. For elastic, maybe 1-2 subtracted from the actual head measurement because you don’t want it too tight.
