🎉 Happy New Year, dear Fran! All the best to you and your loved ones. I look forward to your 2025 podcasts to get a lot of new inspiration 😊 Best wishes from Chris
Your jumper looks fabulous ❤ I’ll definitely be casting on the Daft Days as soon as I have finished one of the two garments I have on my needles at the moment 😊
Happy New Year! I too am looking for ideas for my single skeins as I have quite a collection 😂 I adore your jumper and the colours are just spectacular together xxx
Love the jumper. I want to make The Harvester sweater by Jennifer Steingas. I have some handyed from Peak District Yarns I want to use. Like you I am still new to colour work and not at all confident. My projects so far have been Swan Socks and Chicken socks from Charlotte Stones colour work sock book. Might be worth a look.Diane
Amazing job on your first colorwork sweater. It looks beautiful. Did you know there’s a way to include a “heel flap and gusset” style sock in a toe up? It is my go to pattern, it’s even free! Pattern is Day Off Socks by Jessica Gore. I don’t do the eye of partridge heel texture, just the normal stacked slip stitch heel
For your sock tube dilemma, you can take the rib off the finished sock if you find you run out of wool use what you need and give both socks the same rib with a new or similar contrast? Your jumper is absolutely beautiful. Good job 😊
Lovely to see you!! Amazing sweater you have on!! Great socks! Good luck with the more out than in, I absolutely haven’t mastered this. I shop so much faster than I knit and crochet!! 😆
I've been using the Bits and Bobs blanket pattern for my single skeins, except I'm making scarves instead of a blanket. I hold 3 strands together and use 5.5mm needles and cast on about 31 stitches. They knit up so quickly! I use up 300 grams in just a couple weeks, which is a record for me! 😂
Good luck figuring out projects for your single skeins. I'm trying to clear out some deep stash but it's a lot of commercial stuff so I can check ravelry to see what other people did with a similar quantity of yarn. With your boucle cowl, what if you ripped it back a few inches and did some increases, knit two or three inches and did some more increases, then did the ribbing and bound off? It would give it a conical shape so it'd be wider over the shoulders and use up some more yarn? Or use the leftovers to make a headband?
