Hi it's Mel! Thank you for the help on our tall entryway! We're really happy with all the ideas. My husband LOVES the coat rack/hook solution so much. Our fingers are crossed for a Rochelle video in the future!
Hey Mel, Let us know the best way to contact you so we can send you our course details. Thank you so much for sending in your space to us. If you have Instagram please DM us ❤️
Sarah from the long hallway here! Thanks for your amazing ideas, and being so kind 🥰 This is just the kick in the pants I needed to get going. Much love to all the sorry girls, and Elena, love your work 🫡
Hey Sarah, We can't wait to see how it turns out. Please let us know the best way to reach you so we can send you our course details. If you have Instagram please DM us ❤ Thanks again for sending in your space to us!
For the entryway submission I feel the PAX units would be too bulky. The glass would be full of handprints with kids as well. I would do a wall of white Tronnes shoe cabinets from IKEA. They can withstand kids (plastic is easy to wipe) but hide shoes, mitts, hats, grocery bags etc. just grab a label maker to keep things organised. Some IKEA baggmuck boot trays underneath, keep the wall hooks or do a coat stand, IKEA has several at the moment. Could do a narrow wall mounted partition to differentiate between the sofa and entry area. I always opt for wal mounted in small spaces to maximise square footage.
I wouldn't design around kids. At least not to this extent. Children grow up so fast, and once the youngest starts kindergarten, there won't be any excessive fingerprints anymore. As long as you're staying away from sharp edges and white upholstery, you're golden.
Elena!!!!!! I have been following her since she started This House and her taste, as well as her mom's, is literally so chic and intentional. She is an instant classic. Yay❤
I'm loving this video but the sound mixing has me changing my volume every few seconds. I would much rather the video be late than be hard to listen to.
If the hallway situation with two doors and glass is too difficult as a DIY-project, I would place the PAX as a room divider between the front door and the sofa, with the opening facing the new “Hallway”. The back of the wardrobes can be fitted with mdf and painted or wallpapered. If you live in a cold place, you let a lot of heat out, every time someone opens the front door. I don’t know the heating prices, but I bet that the money spent on a hallway is well spend.
Yea, that PAX and vestibule idea is really terrible for this space. Not only is the pax far too deep for this narrow ‘throughway’, but the whole concept would just make the space feel extra cluttered, dark, and boxy.. They have maximum 3.5m by 1.5m to ‘play with’, and a PAX is 60cm deep.. that barely leaves a 90cm width to get in and out of the house with kids and dogs, putting on shoes and jackets, etc.. I would however: -Continue the ‘glass wall’ theme across to meet the other wall (running just along/ behind the ceiling alcove) using French doors/ sliding doors and side panels. -Add a centred artwork on that back wall, and a bench below, (similar to the current ‘layout’). -Add two tall and shallow cupboards, one on either side of the painting, (for hanging jackets, and all other additional storage needs, concealing the visual clutter behind doors). The glass separation would create an aesthetically pleasing, dedicated entryway, without detracting from the rest of the open plan space, all while making the living room feel more cosy. The centred artwork would behave as a grounding feature between the entry & living room spaces, and conceal the fact that the wall is essentially a Mudroom. Or Nicole could add a mirror there instead, for that quick outfit check before leaving the house.
Came to say exactly that! An other option is to use a kallax 4x4, with basket with shoes on the bottom shelves and nice decor items on the top shelves, it's easier than a pax and lets more light go through (cheaper option also).
I neeeeeeeeeeed Rochelle to make that coat rack. I was going to buy one but their SO expensive and I want to stain it the same color as my desk and hang my headset from it
Love this episode! The energy is so supportive and positive and respectful of each other. No mean girl vibes at all that someone seems to bring to the room. Beautiful result!
15:32 could do a counter top on the washer/dryer and then do a cabinet that sits on the counter like how some kitchens have now! That way you have access and if you organize it right, storage too!
For the Scandi gallery wall I would recommend art by the Swedish artist Elin PK she does a lot of art with food/drinks and plants and they are amazing 🤩
So fun that you're doing this! I watched over several days a few videos so I'm not sure if the wedding mention was in this one or one earlier but I'd loovee to get weddingstyling and decoration tips for diy/budget 😁🙏
So fun! I actually liked Anne's idea for the bifold doors in the laundry room! I wonder if you built a cabinet frame around the machines if you could run a track along the top of the frame to support the doors? I'm picturing smooth door fronts with a routed groove on the bottom that you could use to open them, but when not open they'll look as much like a wall as possible :)
For that entryway stairway, if she wanted to keep millennial Grey scheme, I would do stripped wall paper accent wall, with gallery wall w blk frames and sconces to match chandelier 😊..maybe a floor vase w tall thin palm and ratan flower rug
Okay, you finally got me on this course with that segue... I'm about to really dig my hands into renovating my whole top floor living space and could really use the extra resources 😅
Do people not know about amber glass light bulbs? Like the light bulb itself has the amber glass already and you can get them in most types of bulb too!
I love these ideas you have. I think for the grey stairs I would do the accent wall but do sorta like you did your office and take the wall color to the other wall in like a blob shape. Like do a large blob that’s 2/3 on the wall opposite the door and 1/3 on the other wall and that entire area would also be the gallery wall area. And if not a gallery wall then the blob shape can simply be wallpapered and framed around with that flexible stuff you mention before that looks like wainscotting borders. I might do that in my bedroom someday if I ever get the chance to make it over.
For 1st question hallway if sticking on trimdoesn't work then maybe she could do a painted line or even trompe d'oeil trim and then she doesn't have to worry about sticking
Would be great if you did a shoutout to Linnea Andersson, the artist who did the blue wall trellis motif as her final project at the School of Design and Crafts at the University of Gothenburg, as you recommended her design for the hallway design. I saw her name pop up on the screen, but as she is a rising artist in Sweden it is important to credit artists and not just copy them point blank. Thanks!!!
If they did they would have to research and shoutout every single post on Pinterest they look at which would cancel out how “chill” these videos are. They did leave her name on there so it’s not like they were hiding it
Loved this!!! Would you have ideas for someone who doesn't have access to a lot of the stores you guys usually recommend as I am from New Zealand, literally in the southern hemisphere (no, not Australia, but next to it). Thanks!
24:52 Oh my goodness, you have saved me some money. I've been saving up for sea glass or stained glass paint. I will try this method instead. Thank you all for this tip. Please tell me there is a link to the original video.
Hey sorry girls, amazing video. It actually gave me some amazing ideas for my home… I will try and send you pictures once I finish it. Need a little help though. Could send me the link to your video that you reference in your video for doing the stained glass diy. I can’t seem to find it in the list
Great show, interesting problems & solutions, but sorry to have to say the sound was really inconsistent & made it hard for me to follow. Your guest was fantastic
Wait! How do Sustainability Queens like you all not know about mini splits/heat pumps? They are electric, efficient, and way quieter than our rickety old boiler! Heat pumps!! 🎉❤🎉
I unfortunately wasn’t sure about the Pax in front of the entryway as when you open the door it would be into the side of the wardrobe. I worry that might be strange. any thoughts?
I have found that pictures hung in hallways frequently get knocked down by my guys as they simply walk down the hallway. and that is with nails hanging the pictures. A mural wouldn't get knocked down.
Anyone else’s eardrums suffer for this episode!?😅 Idk what ya girls did but the audio is triggering. Super quiet than next minute Becky is yelling at me😂 I think I had about 8 mini heart attacks so far and I’m only 21 minutes in😩
just commenting to let u know youtube is automatically translating titles and descriptions in some languages (mine included) and they are not making much sense translated. as a video content creator, you can disable that on your channel, but as consumers we cannot undo this automatic feature. personally, I hate it, as many translations take the meaning out of what the creator actually intended for the title. anywayssss loved the video, as always!
how does one switch off these wieder AI narrators? I get them more andmore on Videos and it is beyond kreepy and annoying. I switch it of manually, but van one block it completly? A trend Iam personally not a fan of.
There is nothing wrong with aging and having wrinkles!! It shows that you have had a life well lived. Don't let capitalism make you feel bad about yourself just to buy a product and don't let patriarchy make you feel like you need to be beautiful to have value! I'm really disappointed in this sponsorship choice.
Taste is subjective and changing things to stay abreast of trends can be expensive. My older sister had an amazing gallery wall in the 1970’s which tells me that most trends cycle through. I guess I prefer to keep things personal and true to one’s taste versus being swayed by the trendsetters. But, each to their own!
@@olbird7647 That is not true > gallery walls with real paintings have been around for centuries - cheap art prints on walls are a proof of very poor taste. It is also quite alarming that people don't understand the difference anymore between real gallery walls (or rather salon hanging ) and decoration prints.
As soon as i see its a video from the workshop floor, i simply close the window and move on to some other content creator. I am a fan and following from many many years but I just simply cannot stand this series. It seems like you guys just filling weekends and i am not here from it. I am so sorry. I loved your content and still love other videos where i can see some effort.

❤ this SOS series! Contributions from today's guest were very helpful! Anne rocked it too!
Thanks Suzy! 💞

Ah I'm glad it's not just my TV being silly 😂😂
i'm not sure i can finish watching the video because of this. it hurts my ears!
I'm happy to hear it's not just me. It seems like a lot of youtube videos have lower or bad sound quality lately.
just came to the comments to see if anyone else has this problem haha

This was an amazing collab ! Please have Elena back in future projects she 💯 fits your vibe !
Elena is a Queen ❤️
Love Elena's personality! I hope that she can come back for other episodes!
For anyone with plaster walls, alien tape was a game changer for me!
I just moved into a camper, even Command hooks/strips fall off, so I'm gonna try Alien Tape! Thanks!
@ make sure it’s the actual alien tape brand. I have tried the cheaper options and they are not as good! Good luck 💜
Oo thanks for the tip!

Agree with the above, the sound kept going up and down. I thought it was just me 😅
Becky, the dark hair on you is perfect!! 💌
You can buy an amber sheer spray paint by either Krylon or Rustoleum.
It's funny that you were coming up with a partitioned entrance and I'm looking at my 1970's half wall partition thinking what if i get rid of! Lol
How did you all end up essentially wearing the same colors? Stunning
5:41 could do contact/peel and stick wallpaper and then the no nails glue over it bc the less harsh adhesive would be on the wall!
ELENA!!!! ive been following her ig for yearssss i love her!!!
She is the best!
