    Great video Mike hope you’re keeping well, few more days of lockdown here in 🇬🇧 and then I can hopefully get out and about before I go completely mad😂 we are making defence cuts ourselves Older typhoons being retired along with C130 and Puma helicopters older Chinooks and E3 sentry defence is an expensive game.👍🇬🇧

      Ian, thanks for your comment. We are making good upgrading our military equipment however the C-130 and Orians are to replaced over the next five years. We still do not have Strike Force, perhaps your surplus Typhoons could assist us! My family is well thanks. If you have chance to see my travel channel you will see us kiwis enjoying an extended summer watching the America’s Cup which we have retained. cheers, Mike

    Mike, NZ should purchase all of Japan's retired F-4s. You probably couldn't find better, well maintained all purpose fighter jets anywhere. Plus I just like to the the F-4 fly, I know I'm selfish.

    • @AirflowNZ
      @AirflowNZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bob, probably a bit old in the tooth and high maintenance. Used F-16’s would have lower operating cost. regards, Mike

    In the long run, New Zealand will DEEPLY regret not having a strike capability within the RNZAF.

    • @AirflowNZ
      @AirflowNZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nick, we really need a Strike Force, even surplus F-16’s from the US would be better than nothing. Mike

      Funny, that's what everyone said 20 years ago when the skyhawks went because we did not use them in the 20 years we did have them before that. Shall we check up again in another 20 years? Definitely a long run all right...

    • @Bigman-fh1fz

      @@regregan5755 only reason New Zealand has not needed them was because of a serious lack of commitment towards security cooperation amongst the many alliances. Sooner or later they’ll realize that they need them, just as they realized they need to overhaul and modernize the entire Defence force

      @@Bigman-fh1fz Sooner or later? I'll take later for $1billion. So what?? another 50 years??? Sweet, I'll tell my grandkids to check up on the progress of NZs ACF apparently someone didn't know they needed. So what is this overhaul and modernisation of the "entire defence force" you speak of?
