Episode 37: Gold Experience Requiem performs a first attack but Diavolo foresees it and doesn't see any real change. Considering King Crimson to still be superior, Diavolo erases time. Foreseeing himself punching through Giorno, Diavolo is elated but his joy is crushed as he sees that time is rewinding back and that his time erasure is being undone.

@@MantraMan2077 yeah, once Araki settled on what its ability was. "Who Shot Johnny Joestar" is probably the most confusing thing in all of Jojo, because at that point D4C's power was to let alternate universes overlap in the same location, basically turning the immediate area into a cat box.
@String Cheese Ultra simplified. How KC and GER are opposite abilities. KC removes cause while GER removes effect. In terms of a punch KC has somebody being hit by a punch that was apparently never thrown. GER has somebody starting to throw a punch, and then you swing FOREVER without ever reaching the target.
Actually KC ability isn't that confusing (don't know how this ability in manga, didn't read the manga) its like you watching video on youtube you haven't watch before, tap twice to the right for skip 10 sec, and tou confused about what happened in the video
About GER ability it's basically just 0, enemy who want to attack giorno will be multiplies by 0 and that attack will have not effect to giorno(as for result of everything multiplies by 0 is 0), and giorno attack is like divided by 0 (as for result of everything divided by 0 is infinity)

I don't think he cheated. If you have the ability to copy another person's Stand, but your actions take precedence over your opponent, you can basically let your opponent do whatever they want until they realize their actions don't matter and only yours do.

If you were to shoot a gun at diavolo, king crimson would erase the time when the bullet would have hit him, which removes the EFFECT that the bullet would have (the effect being the gunshot wound).
Gold experience requiem power is to revert any action to zero. So i you were to shoot at Giorno, the bullet would never even reach him, removing the CAUSE of the effect. (Remember the effect being the gunshot wound)
I guess you could say both stands remove the effect of any action, but Giornos stand takes it one step higher than king crimson by preventing the root cause of the effect from ever happening.

For people who have trouble understanding King Crimson's ability
Imagine you stand up from your seat to go grab a drink. But, after standing up from your chair, the next thing you realise is that you have already started drinking. its as if the "action" of you picking up the bottle and placing it to your mouth was 'skipped'. you dont realise this however, and for you, youre just drinking water as usual.
For people who dont get GER's ability
case 1 : youre an observer trying to drink water
You get up, drink some water, and place the water bottle back. But after you finish drinking, you realise that you never left your chair, and youre still thirsty. in fact you dont even realise that you even left the chair once. its like time rewinded, in a way.
case 2 : youre trying to kill giorno
you throw a knife at giorno. however, ger activates, as it detected a threat (the knife coming towards giorno). you see the knife stop before it hits him, and slowly come towards you. during this timeframe, you dont realise that ger and giorno are coming towards you. the knife goes back into your hands, and you start to do the knife throw, but in reverse. it goes back into your pocket, and by the time you realise whats happening, ger has started to punch.
King crimson is very easy to understand but his abilities through out the show are very inconstient

So, from what I've seen GE:R is ridiculously powerful. He is clearly aware when time has been frozen/skipped. He can reverse actions that have occurred when time has been frozen. He possibly sees the out come of timelines. He can prevent timelines from occurring (in effect change the future)-an ability so powerful that even Giorno doesn't know it exists. It's that last ability that makes Diavolo's never ending death make sense almost.
He will always reset to "0" right before the point of no return in death. He will never reach that truth. Truly grim, what a way to be endlessly tortured

yeah, reversing diavolo’s time erase was cool and all, but when he threw a little rock as a laser beam and created a hole in diavolo’s hand, and then transformed the remainings of the pillar that he destroyed into scorpions which attacked diavolo, that was amazing dude
That shows that also GER got nerfed because when the boss kills the scorpion the damage doesn’t reflects to diavolo

King Crimson has the power to erase time. How it works is - -
- - *it just wor* - -
- - this:
During a certain time interval by up to 10 seconds (the moment the ability is activated), no one other than King Crimson and his user will remember/experience their actions done during that time frame. (They will feel that time somehow “skipped”.) They are fixed to do whatever action they were meant to do.
King Crimson, however, allows his user, Diavolo, to remain conscious during that time. He can then readjust his actions to provide a suitable advantage. Although, that ability itself isn’t exactly enough because Diavolo needs to somehow fully predict what will happen next.
This is exactly what Epitaph is for: to grant him the power to foresee the future. Through a premonition, Diavolo can see the end result of what will be fated to happen in their surroundings. This vision can be used as a foundation for his next course of action.
Still confused? Fine, lemme give you an example I found online. Let’s say you’re watching a video on TH-cam. You then come across a boring part of the video. Moving the slider forward, you see it lasts up to 2 minutes until you see something interesting happens. (That’s Epitaph.)
You then proceed to let go of the slider to 2 minutes later. *You saved 2 minutes of time by skipping that part of the video.* (King Crimson’s Time Skip/Erasure.)
In most cases, such as a fight, Diavolo can adjust his position to avoid enemy attacks (predicted by Epitaph) and approach the enemy’s blind spot. Coupled with KC’s sheer strength, the enemy will find himself at a complete and fatal disadvantage, unconscious of what had transpired in the last few seconds. This is what led people to believe KC is “invincible”.
Yes I know it may look so damn convoluted, and to be honest it looks painful to see what splurge I wrote just now. Hell, it might not be even enough. But all I can say is this:

2) Time still passes during KC's ability. If you used KC's ability to skip into 10 seconds into the future that wouldn't "save" you 10 seconds, you would of skipped them but those 10 seconds still occurred.

The fun part is, GER doesn't come out of nowhere. It's a beefed up version of one of the original powers of Giorno's stand that was introduced super-early on, but sorta forgotten about. Giorno's stand doesn't just have the power to turn "anything into anything" like he does here with the rubble that turns into scorpions. That's the primary ability he's been mostly using for the anime. However, early on during the fight against Bruno in the train Giorno shows another power of his. He can greatly accelerate the mind of an opponent. Bruno first thinks that he's now super quick and very powerful, but doesn't realize that he's only imagining things, thinking thoughts quicker than he can comprehend. That leads to him feeling Giorno's punch in super-slow-mo, while also zipping around like a ghost. It's basically his mind being outside his body, experiencing a shit ton of feelings in a split second all at once. That's what happens to Diavolo here, but incredibly amplified. GER doesn't really reverse time as such. It's a lingering continuous effect from the moment that Diavolo is hit with the laser blast. Diavolo is thinking ahead, as he always does, with King Crimson, but instead of actually skipping time, he thinks he's skipping time and is doing all these things, before realisation catches up with him that time hasn't been erased. Nothing has happened at all, aside from a beatdown by Giorno that Diavolo doesn't feel in the same way as, for example, the beatdown that Cioccolato felt, but his mind (highly accelerated by GER's effect) interprets the entire beatdown as entire lifetimes of death over and over again.

This is because "The world" would be within a time frame that king crimson could erase. Even if the world stopped time for 1 hour, king crimson would still instantly cancel the ability.
If they were activated at the same time, then I have no clue what would happen.
If King crimson used his ability after the world then time would be stopped and king crimson would skip time after "the world's" stopped time.

@@user-mq1ng6sj7b i think that perhaps Diavolo's time skip wouldn't affect The World's stopped time in the exact same way as regular time. when Pucci accelerated time it shortened Jotaro's time stop, so it stands to reason that skipping time would do something similar, if not exactly the same. perhaps jotaro would reappear in reality, fully aware of his surroundings five seconds earlier than everything else besides diavolo. essentially invading the world of erased time by "spending" his frozen time world. again, the way time stop interacts with made in heaven makes it feel more like it is "adding" time to the user, in essence transcending time versus existing within an infinitesimal speck of it, which is how we normally conceive of time stopping. in that respect, it's actually the exact inverse of Diavolo's ability. regardless, it would be a dangerous fight that would be all about precise timing and guessing about how the other person will choose to use their seconds. The World and Star Platinum would probably have the advantage in speed and power by a slight amount, but KC is disorienting even if you happen to negate exactly half of its effect, and can be used consecutively with no real cooldown besides the speed at which Diavolo can think.
Just realised that Diavolo's final action was the same as Dio's:
Attempt to blind the Jojo protag with blood, follow it up with a final strike, only for it to fail and follow with his death.

I like how Doppio never truly believed each premonition while Diavolo is fully convinced that the premonitions are the hard truth.
i mean they are tho. they are reality that is fated to occur. according to the rules of reality, diavolo should have won. his ability told him the truth, and giorno's ability will delay that truth for all of eternity. He will forever be "about to win". hope he takes some comfort in that.

He isn't trapped in a time loop from the moment he activates King Crimson to the moments before he's about to finish off Giorno, GER reversed it defeated him and then trapped him in a loop where he is always "just about to lose" constantly experiencing deaths before being pulled back from the jaws of mortality to experience it all over again some different way. GER changed fate and then proceeded to make the new fate never truly happen so that he could torture Diavolo for eternity.

If you think about it, GER's ability is the exact opposite of both King Crimson's ability and DIO's mindset.
King Crimson bypasses the means, only focusing on the ends. GER gets rid of the ends entirely, focusing on the means, the journey. This proves that Giorno is truly different from DIO, who saw everyone and everything as either a pawn or a threat for his goals. There is a theory that could further explain GER's ability, to put ourselves in context we have to analyze the final battle against diavolo, in this you can see that diavolo uses his ability to erase time when he sees GER, in addition to that while He erased the time he used epitaph to see his future that was about to happen, and it was assumed that this ability had no flaws and that it showed a 100% correct future, so because he was wrong in the prediction that he was going to kill Giorno ?, the theory says that epitaph was not wrong but something else happened, the theory says that the true ability of GER is to control destiny, that would explain why epitaph failed in its prediction despite the fact that the futures that he see were exact , It would also explain the infinite death loop of Diavolo, since GER can control destinations, it controls the destination of diavolo so that it never had an end causing it to never be able to get out of this loop, also that also explains the phrase he says when he is rewinding Diavolo's ability “what you are seeing is indeed the truth, you are seeing the movements created by your abilities, but you will never arrive at the truth thats going to happen, none who stand before me shall ever get there”
This can easily be disproved because Ger’s ability “Return to Zero” reverts anything back into nothing. So that would have been the future for Giorno but it was reverted and Ger already won the moment Diavolo thought about attacking.

-light beam covers GE's lack of direct damage, long range attack
-life giving ability is now long range (thanks to the beam)
-return to zero BS ability is an upgrade to the damage reflection
-infinite death is an upgrade to the berserk senses

I mean, it still pails in comparison to the manga, which is the sign of a worthless adaptation. There are only maybe 5-10 minutes from this season which I'd say are worth watching as opposed to reading the manga, which is disappointing because part 5 is my favorite. It's not even that it's bad in and of itself, it's that it doesn't live up to it's source material
Harrinsain!! What the hell are you talking about, this is an almost near perfect adaptation of the manga, what are your issues with the anime adaptation IMO it’s prob the best David productions have done so far
don't get me wrong, when it's good, it's really fucking good. But those moments when it is good are few and far between. Just so you know, I'm specifically referring to presentation. The manga was consistently spot on with it's presentation, whereas the anime is extremely hit or miss. One of the best examples of poor presentation is when King Crimson pierces itself with the arrow. The manga treats it as a climax with KC glowing in a bright light, and intense close ups, then the realization that it hadn't was a page turn shock, while the anime's non-attempt to even try to convince the audience that he was actually going to gain the power of the arrow completely sucks all tension from that scene despite it containing the same content. The music is still slow and dramatic as if it's still building up to an event rather than treating the piercing as one, and the visuals don't treat it as a climax at all, massively lessening the impact of the bait and switch.
Of course this is just one example, but it's by far the best on i can think of off the top of my head. In fact I can even think of an example where a change in presentation made a scene better in the anime, but I'll only mention it if you want me to (I'm doing this just to prove that I'm not just hating on it for the sake of it)

The amazing thing about Davidpro is how they take such simple scenes in the Manga and amplyfied them by 100%, like this scene wouldnt be the same without the sound effects and voice actor is amazing. I am hoping to see part 6 animated soon, there is some crazy shit there.
