Decent Video mate, been in the game for 10+ years but I’m new to using Hik. I’m the process of trying to configure my first install now and this has been by far the best set up video I’ve seen. Been struggling with a few bits so can use this now to iron a few things out. Cheers

Hello, i authorised the installer to have permanent permission to manage the cameras but i now wish to change it so only myself has control of them. If i change the permissions would i then be able to for example change the flashing light on the camera, zone detection areas myself or would i need to download the SADP tool with HIKpartner Pro? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Adrian, if your cameras are HikVision and are connected direct to the NVR then no when you activate the NVR they will be activated using the username and password you set when activating the NVR
Hi I’m having problems with my ptz smart tracking I’m running it alongside a Ds 7608nxi12 8ps nvr should I set this up direct into the camera or through the nvr As I’m having problems getting it to track as I want it to it’s picking up motion but not tracking Thanks Rich Sent from my iPad
Hi Richard, smart tracking can only be done via the camera interface. So either enable virtual host on the NVR so you can access the camera directly or set it up as a stand alone IP and then it’s just via Ip address
Hi Chris, just recently I have had recording issues of audio loss whenever I need it for a backup to my flash player usb memory stick. Each time I would review the footage on my Mac , only visual is captured but no sound captured from the original live viewing. My only method of recording the sound is to play the footage on screen and record the sound via mobile. This is quite worrying cos I need this audio recording for evidence to provide to local authority
If you follow the video you should be able to see this. Its under Storage management/Storage schedule, Top left under advanced there is then a click box to set Record Audio. Otherwise you only have audio on live view.
