    Couldn’t agree with you more on the Time ATAC peddles. Love them. Really like the different tire choices and look forward to the Tail Fin review. Thanks for sharing.

      Couldn't agree more! I have 3 sets of ATACs. Have you had any pins pull out? I have one that comes out often now. I eventually used Gorilla Glue on it, and use a punch to set it back in. See this spot in the following video:

    I love your setups, mods and, of course, your bike.
    I am totally in love with Kona, I have had one KONA CALDERA 2001, KONA HAHANA 2000, KONA KILAUEA 2002, KONA ESATTO 2016, KONA WO 2016 and now I have one KONA HOSS DELUXE 2008, one KONA WO 2022 and one KONA SWIFT ROVE 2020… so, thanks for sharing your setups… I am learning a lot about your configurations👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

      That's awesome! Glad you found it useful. Many people have been asking for an overview on my bike because really... there very little of it left stock now. It serves as a great do-it-all bike.

    Happy I found your channel! I'm now planning a couple of short bikepacking trips on Vancouver Island after watching your series.

    Cool video sir. I’ve been wondering what my kahuna might look and feel like with a rigid fork and jones bars. Actually looks amazing. Lot of info thanks for the video!

    Your videos are amazing! Now that I see the editing suite, it makes sense.
    Loved this one! Weird to see you not in kit, looking presentable 😂

      Wait, what? I look presentable? 🤣 I’m slowly learning new editing techniques. I get caught up in the finer details to do the best I can. Between storytelling, editing, colour grading, sound design, and audio mastering, there is so much to learn for this old dog. Glad you are enjoying and thanks for watching.

    You and your bike are amazing, top shelf glass cabinet goodies and bike packing gear. That’s a amazing set up. My 27 year old bike, lol. Yea I have hose clamps holding my bottle cages on .

    • @SaltyBeard_Adventures
      @SaltyBeard_Adventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't say top shelf glass cabinet. I've lucked out with a couple items like my wheels and bags. I'm just like everyone else - a working guy on a budget. Hence the GX drivetrain. Since when did mid-grade get so darn expensive. I kind of miss my old Kona Cinder Cone. LOL

    I am planning my first 100+ mile bikepacking trip for this coming spring and I am thinking of buying a Kona bike as well. I have my eye on the Sutra LTD. I'm looking at the Salsa Fargo Apex 1 as well, but I am having a hard time leaning that way with it's Sram Apex mechanical groupset when an extra 50ish bucks gets me into a Sram Rival hydraulic groupset in the Sutra LTD.

      Both bikes are solid bikes for drop bar bikepacking, and can really be pushed on rough trails, or single track. I would lean to spending the little extra for the Rival. It's a substantial jump in quality and overall longevity. Best of luck. Keep in touch on Instagram !

    Awesome bike :) If you are to replace your bike this year, what would you choose Mr.beard?

    • @SaltyBeard_Adventures
      @SaltyBeard_Adventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a Kona Libre frame I’ll be building this spring. And will primarily for road and gravel. I’ll leave my Big Kahuna in MTB mode.

    If you didn't have your wrist fused, would you have gone with dropped bars? Trying to decide which is best for a gravel bike at lower speeds. Thanks.

    • @SaltyBeard_Adventures
      @SaltyBeard_Adventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can ride drops (I’m actually building one now). My wrist while fused is not the issue, but a myriad of complications that have me in constant pain. Long days amplify that. It was a serious issue when I got back in the bike after 4 years. If you like a more upright, slower riding position and just want comfort. Go with some like an H-Bar, or comparable alternative bar. (Bikepacking has a good Alt Bar write up). They have lots of hand positions for all day rides, and ability to strap or mount things too… And you can run more simple MTB style controls too.

      @@SaltyBeard_Adventures Thanks for the input. For me, its neck, and lower back following fusions.

    The fenders don't protect pretty much😊

      Nope…. but keeps some of the “slop” off the front bag a bit.
