I live in Mexico. Some people make it such an expensive trip. Prices of accommodations have really gone up, but you can still eat for cheap and even spend $0 on transportation if you choose a walkable place or a few quarters (metro in Mexico City). You are absolutely right about getting tacos for cheap and a quesdilla is $1-1.50. You can still find a few hostels in the $10 range. There used to be a lot more AirBnBs in the $10-12 range, but those have skyrocketed.
Yes your opinion is the best one..I am planning my trip in Mexico and I was asking me where she finds so cheap place where to sleep..actually in the most places we can sleep with like 12-13€ for person (Airbnb,we are2people)..but same place(like pueblos magic)are really expensive 😢 anyway I ll love Mexico and Mexico food ❤ I am sure about that 😊
I would definitely add Malaysia to this list. You can find luxury stays for $25/- a night, Grab is very affordable despite their public transport being one of if not the best in the world
Great video Lexie! :) my favorite buget travel destination is Poland where I come from. I recommend visiting Gdansk or Krakow as well as many other charming places .

Happy New Year! It's the Year of the Snake! I hope to hear of the best experience in your encounters with snakes, but most importantly, a reminder that we are to shed off the old to embrace the new. I hope that you get to experience even more new things, and even see why snakes are important to our world and why they shouldn't be feared, let alone hated. Happy New Year, and I hope to hear of many great and positive snake encounters in the future! Your Friendly Ophidophile, Shaun
I'm so glad you have Georgia on your list! I was there back in 2023, and it was easily one of the most beautiful countries I have ever visited with the breathtaking mountains and the delicious food! I would love to see more of Southeast Asia in the near future. I know I would really enjoy Thailand and Vietnam! I may also finally plan a trip to Mexico too this year!
A bit unstable at the moment, though. Anyone going should be aware of periodic delays, especially in the city center. Probably my favorite country on earth, though. I've enjoyed your budget lists in the past, but this year your video is suprisingly different from the list you'll find on my channel. It must be pointed out that Türkiye (the name was officially changed from Turkey a few years ago now) continues to suffer from massive inflation and it is an overall much pricier place than this video makes out. I still managed to visit on a pretty tight budget last year, but not in the way that a country like Vietnam or Mexico makes possible.
Eating at a restaurant in Portugal is not that much more expensive than cooking at home. In some restaurants, you can get the dish of the day (prato do dia), which is an inexpensive daily option on the menu. Street food is even cheaper!
@@LexieLimitless well, looks like I’ll have to re-adapt my next trip to Portugal to try it out!😅 Thank you Lexi! All the best in your future travels, we’ll stay tuned:)
All very good suggestions but I do think the budgets are pretty tight and misleading for most people , add 20% on top and you’ll be far more comfortable
The prices are for somewhat extreme budget travelers but as I mentioned in the beginning, the countries on this list are the cheapest regardless of your preferred style of travel
I love visiting Nicaragua and enjoyed volunteering there over ten years. However US dept of state just upgraded their warning to a 3 for Americans to reconsider travel. Just something to think about
My question is even the hostels in these places say it’s around 30 to 50$ or more for accommodation. So where are these places where the accommodation is 5 and 10?
Please go. The info she provided is legit, at least for Vietnam. Even if you want an “upgrade” (e.g staying at a decent hotel instead of hostel and eat a nicer meal a day), you can still do just fine with a 50 buck per day budget.

Yes, the prices are based on shared dorm room prices especially during low or shoulder season for people who want the cheapest prices possible. However, if you want to still travel on a budget but have more of a budget to spend, the countries on this list are all around the cheapest in comparison to other countries in the region

You think i can survive on $1200 in any of these places? I’m looking for a place to live. I’d like to do 1-3 months per location. I’m concerned about actual prices because of some of the comments on inflation.
You’d be lucky to travel Romania and Bulgaria for $30, yes they are cheaper, but inflation has hit these countries hard. Portugal $5-10 for food is definitely not doable unless you are cooking yourself, one meal a day maybe.
@@LexieLimitless you need a bare minimum of $50 a day for hostels, maybe dinner out and some activities for Eastern Europe now, $75+ a day if you want private accommodation as a bare minimum. More in summer too ofc

I want to go to Egypt so bad, but all the negative things I hear about the alleged corrupt practices of their customs officers, and police soliciting bribes and confiscating belongings concern me. great tips - if you have food restrictions like Vegan, Vegetarian, you can multiply food costs by 4. In recent visit to Northeast India visit, if you cover 2-4 places per day, you are looking at $4 to 10 as entrance fees to these places; unless you are taking rides with strangers, transportation to far off places can be $10-30 and of course, decent accommodations cost you 4 times what great Lexie mentioned in this video in 2025, I am going to Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet
In October we spent 30 days travelling across Gujarat, Goa, Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. I kept track of our accommodation costs. For 30 days we spent €160 per person and stayed mostly in double rooms with a private bathroom, averaging €5.3 per day. I'm vegetarian too and India is amazing for that as vegetarian food is really cheap and easy to find, we rarely spent more than €1 per meal. In other countries is harder, but my partner eats meat and actually his meals tend to be more expensive than mine! Vegetables are cheaper than meat, if anyone is charging you 4x for a vegetarian meal they are robbing you!
Having just been to Egypt I would argue your prices are way off. For a foreigner, prices in Egypt are between 8 and 15 times more than locals and you cannot get around the foreigner price. Entry into the pyramids alone costs about 14usd. Finding cheap transportation and food is a constant battle to not get charged foreigner prices. You can use Uber in Cairo but will have 4 out of 5 people asking you to pay in usd at a huge price increase so you have to keep cancelling until you can find one that will accept the standard price. I’ve travelled a lot of countries on a super low budget and I found Egypt impossible to do on a low budget. Never mind all the tipping you are pressured into. I’m not sure when you last went there but prices have skyrocketed in the last few months because all the price Info we had from just before we went was all way out of date already and everything had been raised by double or more.

Hi Lexie! I am finding these prices (especially for accommodations) VERY low. Are your estimated ranges based on current stats? And I guess re: accommodation, you are talking about the very most basic (beyond basic) accommodation?! And even then, I really don't think accommodation can be found for $5-10/day in most of the places you featured.
Hey! The prices are based on the most up to date blogs sharing information for backpackers as well as my personal experience. The rates I mention in this video are for shared dorm rooms in hostels during low/shoulder season for people who hope to find the cheapest prices possible. I'm in the US!
@LexieLimitless Glad You Replied and Reacted 😅. And inshaAllah after some Years I would be in The US Too, and Especially To visit Times Square my Dream Place to Visit.
the zoom in and out as you are speaking is so distracting. Great content though
Portugal was $50-100 a night not $10.

This is totally unrelated to your video but I know you've travelled a lot of places so I wanted to ask you a question that you may know the answer to my question is it's safe to travel to Muslim countries as a solo woman?
Yes it definitely is very safe to travel to Muslim countries :)
Lexie I am big fan of you .I want to meet u in future . Venkat indian
Thank you!
hi Lexie..
Hello!
@LexieLimitless how are u...
Nice video. Do you want to travel together to one of your 25 destinations together? I'll buy the ticket.
However, if you want to stay in the most central tourist locations, travel during the high season, etc. the prices will be higher. The countries on this list are also generally the cheapest in comparison to other countries in the region
Tblisi is absolutely not that cheap. I was there a few months ago and its not safe right now because of the Russian Georgian politics.
I found it incredibly cheap when I was there last year!
Lexie your price estimates are barely survival level-simply to exist! For any quality of life your prices are too low.
Please stop with the 100 zooms in/out.
I hope this message finds you well. As a TH-cam thumbnail designer, I focus on creating visually appealing thumbnails that resonate with your brand. If you're interested, I can design a sample thumbnail for you to assess. Should it meet your standards, we can explore future work together. I’m excited to hear your thoughts!
Thanks for sharing!
❤❤❤
It's true you can eat with 6$ in Romania, but now with 12$ you will probably sleep with rats and cockroaches, not on a decent accomodation...
I Watched complete video, just wanted to see Pakistan's name. And in the end I was succeeded.
Amazing country!
Jordan and Portugal aren't cheap at all...
They can be if you get creative!
@LexieLimitless In every country if you are creative you can spend less money. Anyway, thank you for responding...
