Congratulations Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Kevin! I'll always remember this moment, whenever I hear that song 🤣 These were great tests. The graveyard thing,..... there were a few times I thought Rose got possessed flying around the graveyard. I was afraid you were going to have to call in an exorcist. And you know what happens if you don't pay your exorcist on time? You get repossessed! 👹 Thanks for all the great info!
Congratulations Kevin on passing your Part 107 test! I knew you could do it. I'm proud of you. Excellent multiple tests video, and excellent verse. You and Kristi have a wonderful and blessed week.
Thanks as always, Doug. That test wasn’t as bad as I expected but it’s definitely not an easy test. At least for me anyway. Haha. God bless you guys and have a great week, buddy!

Il look forward to your next video brother , especially as your a professional pilot now haha! Keep up the good work! 👍

When I think of precision landing with the older drones, I don't get excited about it because they really don't have it. I think they don't, but then again I'm not 100% sure either. I'm thinking about taking a trip towards the Ocala area in a couple weeks. Then I'll probably go towards the Tampa area and W. Palm Beach area as well. I first have to get in touch with my doctor. Hopefully, I'll past by and say hello. This was another interesting video my friend. Thanks for sharing.
Oh cool! If you come through the jacksonville area send me a message. That would be cool. Ocala is a neat area with all the forest and bears. We camp in the Ocala area sometimes and it’s always a fun place to visit. Tampa? hmmmmm lol west palm beach is nice too. Thanks for watching and commenting as always, brother. Hey Nice Video, I was wondering tho, I heard a while back that taking off from vehicles can disrupt the compass. I wonder if your last test allowed the compass to correct. Thoughts? Maybe test again but away from the truck?
Very cool. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Regarding the compass, I’m sure there’s some sort of interference when I’m around the truck but I’ve never noticed enough to make a difference. At least not a consistent difference. A test like this though, you’re absolutely right. I should’ve gotten my lazy butt out of the truck and walked away a ways. Lol. We’ll definitely try it your way next time. Hahaha. God bless!!! Thanks again for watching.
Congrats. So were you on cemetery land? I also live in Florida and I’m confused about where you can fly in Florida. From what I have read it has to be recreation land to take off and or land. Can you clarify?
Lol I understand the confusion. Seems like everyone has different answers doesn’t it? I was actually on the public access road heading to the cemetery here and never stepped on the private property. My understanding of launching and landing is as long as you’re in a public access place and not on private property, you don’t need any permissions to launch or land. Example: I like to park on the side of the road and launch from the truck to fly around or over a farm filed. I’m good launching and landing from the public right of way, but if I wanted to launch from their private land, id need permission or we could be trespassing. There’s a bunch of places counties prohibit launching and landing, too like our county parks here. I can fly over and around them but it’s against county ordinance to launch or land within them. That’s where a lot of people get frustrated with the cops enforcing it because they think they can launch and land anywhere. We have some national monuments and stuff in our county too that are prohibited to launch and land from and it’s also illegal to fly in certain airspace around them. Those controlled air spaces are all shown on an app I use called Air Data. If you get a chance, look it up and it’ll definitely help you find good spots to fly. Anyway, I hope this info helps. It’s of course not complete info but it’s at least a start. I’d also recommend you check out 51 Drones channel (Russ). He’s awesome and always tries to help out if someone has a question. Let me know if he’s helpful, brother. Sorry for all the words. Haha. God bless! Kevin
I understand but isn’t the side of the road managed land. Florida laws say you can’t launch or land on managed land. I find it hard to interpret what they really mean. Oh and thanks for responding. 😎
Well crap! I’ve never seen that before. I honestly don’t know but if that’s how it’s written maybe we can only launch and land from the woods. Lol. I wouldn’t know how to interpret that either. I’ll try to look into it but if you get any clarification, please let us know.
This is what I found. But maybe this doesn’t apply to roads Not sure. UAS operation rules in Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Preserves Florida Administrative Code 5I-4.003 // 2016 This state code prohibits drones on managed lands, including Florida state parks and forests, except at a runway or a heliport and only with authorization from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The authorization shall be based upon a determination that the takeoff or landing will not endanger the health, safety, or welfare of any person, potentially damage the forest resources, or interfere with the management objectives of that forest as provided in that forest’s management plan. Authorization from the Service is not required in an emergency or for Service official business. Florida Administrative Code 40C-9.320 // 2004 This state code prohibits drones from taking off or landing on District lands unless authorized by a Special Use Authorization.
Well done on passing Kevin. You didnt do the calibration dance lol. Instead of turning the drone, turn ur whole body, once with the drone horizontal and once with it vertical. Works everytime
Hahaha. Thanks man. I did it in front of Kristi and she said that’s something that should be done in private because she can’t unsee it now. Plus I almost tripped. Anyway, thanks for the congrats!!! Lol.
Hello, Roberts! I was just watching this video. By coincidence, I stumbled upon this difference in my Mini 2 last night. I always am having to recalibrate. But the drone is often with reason for regular RTH. I had a thought to try exactly what you did almost. Except I took off hovered got home point, elevated to 20 ft and paused and my RTH was much more accurate. I didn't have to adjust it at all. So maybe there's something to it now I have seen this video. Keep on going enjoy your content.
lol thanks so much for watching and commenting, Drew. I’ve actually done the same and noticed a possible difference as well in accuracy with the mini 2 but they don’t claim that for these drones. The other day though was the complete opposite. Our mini 2 was 15 feet off of her landing spot twice in a row! Wait till Sundays video and it may happen again!! lol. Thanks again for watching, buddy and we’re really happy to have you join the family. God bless!
Kevin, As far as the spin and drift when you take off you have to be careful with the mini props since they are so thin. If one gets bent or misshaped in any way it can cause a slight change in that motors aerodynamics and can easily cause a drift / spin like that. The original mini had that problem if you were not careful when you put it back in the storage case because the props could get bound under the drone and flatten.
Oh wow I had no idea it would do that. I guess I need to inspect the props really closely and see if that’s what’s going on. I wonder if I got careless and punched the props with that clasp thing when I put it away.
Congratulations on passing your part 107 exam. I'm going to try that RTH test as soon as I get a chance with my mini 2 and mini 3. I haven't been able to fly lately because of bad weather and TFR over the weekend. Weather is supposed to get better in the next couple of days. Great job as always.
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching as always and for the congrats. I was surprised it didn’t seem as difficult as I thought it would be, but there were definitely some trick questions. I hope you get out soon to fly. I know it sucks to not be able to fly when you want.
Congrats on the part 107. And congrats to Nobby - 1st to post. Haha. Hope you enjoy your prize as much as i did. Interesting test. I always land manually, but it's good to know what the drone can do in case I ever need it. I finally got rid or Martha and moved to the lastest version of the fly app. But it's not so bad. I just turn the volume down. Haha.
Hahaha. I remember your prize. Lol. Thanks for the congrats on the 107, brother. It took me quite a bit longer to hunker down and just get it done than I hoped but at least now it’s over and I can get my spare time back. Hahaha. Sorry to hear your Martha is gone, man. That sucks!!! Lol
I love flying through graveyards. I am very respectful while I am there. If I see people visiting graves, I do not fly. I typically like to fly over very old graveyards and they tend to have less visitors. I have been working on posting some vids of some of the graveyards I have flown
Heck yea! Grace yards are cool to fly around. I’ve always liked going to the grace yards for some reason. I’d never fly with someone there though. That would be in bad taste, eh? Maybe you should release a graveyard series…. That would be neat!
Congratulations on your passing the test. Where or how did you study and how long did it take you to pass? By the way great video as always. God Bless!
Awesome! Thanks for the congrats, man. I’d say the best time frame for studying is about 2 weeks. I used Drone Launch Academy’s curriculum and they definitely made it simple. Another buddy who shall remain nameless (Randy) sent me some supplemental stuff too because he used a different curriculum when he studied. Anyway, I studied for this thing 3 times tot and registered for the test but the first 2 times I was scheduled, they cancelled the test because the instructor wasn’t available. This time they let me proceed though. Lol. I think the best approach is to schedule the test first for 2 weeks after you start studying and that’ll sort of push you to be ready to go when the test time comes. The first time I studied and procrastinated on scheduling the date and that didn’t seem to work too well. I can say for sure though, without the drone launch academy curriculum I never would’ve known what to study. It was worth it for sure.
I do shy away from smaller town graveyards on the whole, unless they are big, important and vast enough to be sort of National Monuments, like for example war graves, and over here in the UK, Brookwood Cemetery, which is world-famous for its statuary and mausoleums in a very relaxed, overgrown and informal setting. Genuinely grieving people are bound to be annoyed by a small buzzy thing hovering about, even if it's quite high, so I only really consider doing any of them when they are empty, usually at dawn, or dusk.
lol yea I agree 100%. This one never seems to have any visitors. At least never while I’m there. Trust me if I saw someone in there, I’d leave or wait till they left for sure. Thanks for watching this older video, buddy.
Oh yea that phone holder is awesome. I got it on Amazon and it’s called a Mini 2 controller angle bracket. There’s a few different brands listed but they’re all probably the same. I’ll post a link but let me know if it don’t work. It’s definitely worth its weight. I like how it gives me more room for the phone and I no longer have to take the phone out of the case to put it in the controller. Gold man. Gold. Lol. a.co/d/iRz6V5M
Thank you for the quick reply. The link you attached is good. I need to buy a phone holder like this. I see that it is very practical. I wish you God's blessing from Poland👌👌🤗🤗👍👍@@WeretheRoberts
Hello, accelerating landing during RTH on the Mini 2 has been around for quite some time, I've been doing it for 2 years or so, it's strange that you didn't know about it. You can also accelerate the RTH by moving the lever forward (consumes more battery of course). Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina!
Lol well I’m usually late to the party so I’m not surprised it’s been available as long as it has. I did know about the speeding up during RTH but this one eluded me. Haha. Thanks for the info and for watching, buddy. We really appreciate your support and welcome from Argentina!

I know it's a different topic, I am using a Galaxy tab A9+ along with the RC-N2 controller. Along with wifi Hotspot, is there a better way to ensure a connection?
I’m not too familiar with the Android tablets but I’d say if it’s working when you use it it’s good. What’s cool is you don’t necessarily have to have Wi-Fi to fly the Mini 4 pro so if your Wi-Fi connection fails, you’ll still be able to fly. The only thing you may lose or be limited on is the maps but the gps and return to home stuff will work as normal. I fly the mini 2 drones quite often with my phone in airplane mode especially when I’m making a video. lol.
Hey Kevin nice tests. We together learn new things about our drones. I had a DJI Mini 2 drone and I could never get a precise landing, always a little off. The first time I landed my DJI Mavic Air 2 I was very happy with how accurate it was in landing. As the Mavic Air 2 is landing it will readjust it's self to land where it took off. Good luck on your Part 107 test. You can do this. God Bless.
Thanks for watching as always, Fred! I agree the landing capabilities of these suckers is amazing. How do have they gotten so precise? I know they Mini 2 doesn’t have precision landing but that was pretty impressive. She’s done it a time or 2 in the past but never on cue lol. Anyway, good news is I passed the test so we’re all official now. God took care of us that’s for sure.
lol yea I had some issues with the landing accuracy for a while but the last several weeks it’s been spot on every time. I need a bigger landing pad like you have. lol. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. God bless!
First of all, no, I don't think it's disrespectful to fly over a cemetery. I've done it myself. Secondly, another great video, testing landing speeds and accuracy. I need to try that with Faith and Grace. Neither one of them is very accurate, and when I try to move Faith over the landing pad, it cancels RTH. And congrats on passing your 107!!!
Lol I enjoy flying through grave yards, too, Gary. There’s something peaceful about it. Lol. I’m surprised faith isn’t accurate on her landings. Do you raise her up to 7 meters before flying away? Oh and thanks on the congrats, man! It wasn’t as tough as I thought it would be that’s for sure but it wasn’t easy. Lots of shenanigans in the way some of the questions were worded. Lol
@@WeretheRoberts Yes, I raised her up to 7 meters and hovered, but I need to try calibrating the compass again and see if that will help. So much to learn and memorize for that 107 test. My brain is so full, I need to do a memory dump to make room for more. Hahaha
Hahaha. Thanks, Graham. It took me too long to take that test but I’m glad I did. Now I’m official. Lol. Marketplace is sketchy! Lol I had good luck on it though until Kristi banned me. Boooo!

Congrats on passing your test 👍🏻 Cool test. Next time I get my Mini 2 airborne, I'm gonna try this out. Rule number one. The The take off and land area must be perfectly flat. Two, avoided of any metal. Like the back of a truck, maybe? Rule two hundred and thirty three, read the manual. Oh and congrats.
Lol. I always thought rule number one was “There’s no crying in baseball.” But anyway the truck bed is flat…. It just wasn’t level. Haha. And there’s a manual? I’m kidding man. lol yea I agree 100%. This one never seems to have any visitors. At least never while I’m there. Trust me if I saw someone in there, I’d leave or wait till they left for sure. Thanks for watching this older video, buddy.
I have a question for you. I see that you have an additional phone holder in the mini 2 controller. Where can you buy it? I greet you 👌👌
Oh yea that phone holder is awesome. Gold man. Gold. Lol.

Thank you for the quick reply. The link you attached is good. I need to buy a phone holder like this. I see that it is very practical. I wish you God's blessing from Poland👌👌🤗🤗👍👍@@WeretheRoberts
@@andrzejkwiatkowski5453 awesome!!!! God bless you as well, brother
@@WeretheRoberts I am a faithful follower of your channel and happy owner of a Mini 2 (mine has no name hahaha) with which I have achieved many incredible feats, among them a flight in the mountains in my country of 8.5 km (17 km in total, round trip). For me the Mini 2 will always be "the little beast", greetings from Argentina! th-cam.com/video/bT7iGcOM72w/w-d-xo.html
Is there any maximum age limit to qualify drone pilot licence ?
Hey there. Awesome question, buddy. I’ve not seen anywhere that there’s a max age limit. Just a minimum. Go for it!
👍👍👍😎☕
Heck yea!
Congratulations on the 107
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching and for the encouragement. God bless!
Congratulations on passing the test. God is good. @@WeretheRoberts
@@fredmunson8603amen, brother
Good luck yaa congrats
Lol thanks, man! It took long enough. Hahaha
I have the mini 4 pro, it is accurate about 80% of the time. I purchased the orange and black, 3 foot across landing pad.
lol yea I had some issues with the landing accuracy for a while but the last several weeks it’s been spot on every time.
Hahaha
@@gama45lol. I’ve taken several memory dumps.
Congratulations buddy 👍 Yeah I love Facebook marketplace. That's where I sold my mini 2 😊. Lots of scammers on their nowadays though 😢
Hahaha. Thanks, Graham. It took me too long to take that test but I’m glad I did. Now I’m official. Lol. Marketplace is sketchy! Lol I had good luck on it though until Kristi banned me. Boooo!
Rose doesn't like flying near cemeteries!! That's my guess!!
Hahaha. She may have been a little spooked. I flew her and Jack here once before for another video and she may remember more than I thought she did.
DJI says to raise all their drones to 7M / 21 feet before taking off so they can record their home point accurately
Wow it says that for all their drones? I didn’t know that. You’re always full of great info and tips, man. I thought it was just for the precision landing but the Mini 2 kinda proved me wrong I’d say. Lol.
First hahaha. Before your last take off it popped up and said compass calibration required 🤷♂️ I think something weird happened to her man 🤷♂️
Hahaha. Congrats on being first, Nobbygreen. Actually I may have been first cause I pinned that comment at 12:00:24. Lol. Oh I’m sure much more than just that compass calibration was hinky on thes little tests, eh? I mean. Look at the pilot! Oh it’s official. Ima real pilot now so you can call me Captain now.
Congrats on passing your test 👍🏻
Cool test. Next time I get my Mini 2 airborne, I'm gonna try this out.
My motorcycle season is currently delayed a bit, best as it should begin, as I just dislocated my shoulder on a ski trip, and it is usually the motorcycle that takes me out to various drone destinations.
Until that I'll have to do with rewatching my videos from previous seasons 😉
For example this silly one (one of my few videos, that isn't in Danish 🙃):
th-cam.com/video/DwVrjPnNwaA/w-d-xo.html
Awesome! Thanks for watching as always and for the congrats, brother. That test wasn’t too bad but it wasn’t anything to sneeze at. Lol. Too bad about your shoulder, man. Heal quick and get back out there!!!
All good points for sure and I of course didn’t do any of them. Maybe I’ll get better now that I’m an official 107 holder. Keep us in your prayers. Lol Thanks so much for watching and for the congrats. Very much appreciated. God bless!
@@WeretheRoberts We don't have a baseball problem in the UK. We can't afford the space for a pitch, ha
