Abraham Lincoln Tomb and Receiving Vault at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield

Welcome to the Abraham Lincoln Tomb and Receiving Vault at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois in March of 2021. Normally, I add some commentary, but in this case, I felt it more respectful to just show you the peaceful visit as it happened. The receiving vault is where Abraham Lincoln was first laid to rest after his death while waiting for the tomb to be finished. As shown in Stealing Lincoln's Body, there was also a grave robbing attempt to steal Lincoln's body that happened on the reverse of the tomb, which is also shown.
