is TUM really the BEST University in Germany?

- The Technical University of Munich (TUM) attracts lots of international students from around the globe. But what"s so special about it? Are other German universities completely different? Since I have been studying at TUM for around 2 years now, I wanted to share my thoughts and spread some of the things I realized during that time.

Although I do not study in Germany, I agree that students shouldn't beat themselves about top 1 vs top 2 rankings. The point about how rankings actually work is 100% true. GREAT FIDEOZ

Its an easy *yes* because except for Bavaria and BaWü no German state has the money to fund a world-class university anyway and BaWü politics is generally too modest to argue for unpopular but necessary things like a neutron-source for example (TUM is the only German university that has one and it soon will be the only institution at all).
TUM has the oldest brewery of the world btw.
There is however a difference in quality between teaching and the research done by a Uni. There tends to be a deficit in the teaching section and as a student you can clearly see that sometimes.

Usually theoretical, there are courses denoted as "Praktikum", those are more practical

Hi, could I ask your opinion on Wirtschaftsinformatik vs TUM-BWL with specialisation in Informatik from an industry and job-seeking perspective?
Good question tbh, there are a lot of aspects to it but essentially you're regarded more of a business guy with a TUM-BWL and more of a technical person with a Winfo but ultimately from a job-seeking perspective you have similar courses especially concerning Software Engineering topics so at the end of the day it also doesn't really matter

I haven't heard as much since it's outside the scope of the lectures I attended etc. but from the couple of people I talked with, they had more labs and practical courses and I think overall you can always find some reviews online of people who even completed a specific degree you're interested in. cool! ich habe auch in Dresden für 6 Monate gewohnt ;) schau dir mein "Studienkolleg" Video an, wäre vielleicht hilfreich für dich. Je nach dem wie viele Punkte man hat (du kannst auf irgendeiner Seite auf TUM sehen wie sie die Punkte berechnen wenn man sich bewirbt) wirst du entweder zum Interview eingeladen oder direkt angenommen. In der FSP hatte ich eine ziemlich gute Note ( < 1.5 ) und deswegen wurde ich damals direkt angenommen. Bin mir nicht sicher was die Grenze ist, ist auch alles individuell und abhängig davon wie viele Fächer man hatte usw. aber auch wenn die Noten nicht sehr gut sind, kann man denen noch im Interview überzeugen! ;)

Hi, I am a class 12th arts student and i want to become a software engineer. So is it possible to do T-kurs in studienkolleg to do bachelor in Computer science in Germany after 12th arts?
Usually after doing a T Kurs in a Studienkolleg, you would be able to pursue a MINT major at German unis. The question however is whether they would accept you into the studienkolleg since there might be some requirements of scientific classes from your highschool. The best thing to do is to contact the studienkolleg as well as the uni of choice with your specific situation.

Hallo lieber Rafideoz ich komme aus Shanghai, China. Ich möchte mich um einen Studienplatz für Wirtschaftsinformatik an der TUM bewerben und eine Frage über Motivationsschreiben haben. Kannst du mir kurz sagen, wie man einen guten Motivationsbrief schreibt?
Hey.
Ich habe mich dieses Jahr auch an der TUM beworben und wurde angenommen. (Aber Architektur)
Von dem was ich so erfahren habe ist es ganz wichtig dass du die Fakultät richtig recherchierst. Wieso ist der Studiengang passend für dich. Was für Projekte gibt es die dich extrem interessieren?
Und dann natürlich musst du erklären weshalb du dich für deinen Studiengang interessierst. Wieso keinen anderen? Was hast du schon getan um deiner Interesse zu folgen.
Natürlich musst du da so ein bisschen schleimen. ABER nicht zu viel. Das kommt nicht gut. Gehe eher darauf ein weshalb du glaubst dass nur die TUM die richtige Uni für dich ist. Also einfach Sachen die an der Uni besonders angeboten oder gefördert werden.
Wichtig ist aber auch das deine eigene Persönlichkeit nicht untergeht. Gestalte es also auch etwas interessanter.
Schreibe nicht zu viel (Maximum ist ja 2 Seiten aber ich würde eher sagen 1-1,5 Seite ist besser weil sich dass dann nicht zu sehr in die Länge zieht und durchweg interessant bleibt.). Du brauchst nicht weiterschreiben wenn du alle deine Punkte abgearbeitet hast. Mehr ist nicht immer mehr.
