Evginiy backstory is the only person who never deleted the default cube, he always created something else using that cube. 🤣
It seems that comrade Dyatlov was right after all when he said ‘You didn’t see graphite on the ground because it isn’t there’ , since, technically, the graphite was floating.

I'm from Russia and I don't know why other countries think that Russia looks like in this video. Perhaps this is how Russia is shown in your films, but this is not at all the case... In my understanding, these are endless fields of sunflowers, a huge taiga, geysers in the east, beautiful mountains and lakes.
@@freedomofspeech4246 I guess everybody knows that to some degree. But what would you expect in the comment section of a video that draws heavily from a genre that was greatly influenced by soviet-Russian literature and last but not least the disasters that really happened.

I’m gonna be 100% honest, for the first 3-4 minutes I thought this was live action and just heavy green screening for the environment. This was so well done!!!

Deserves multiple awards. The atmosphere is so magnetising, the acting, rigging, lighting, script, the little dimensional cuts, everything.
Also not sure if intentional little easter egg in there but the scene with the huge cube above him is a little homage to Akira with the cube building floating above the girl child?
Without trying to detract from how hugely impressed I am, I couldnt help but think that the anomoly is where all Blenders default cubes get sent.
These cubes remind me of the wreckage of the reactor rods that were scattered after the explosion🤔

@@Kongjie57 To me, that was clearly a D-Class personnel being sent forward by an unfortunate Foundation researcher towards an unknown SCP. Even got the orange "jumpsuit/protective suit".And as escort, and enforcers, a very unfortunate Mobile Task Force.

This is the best thing i have seen in many years. the lighting , the mysteries, the story. its so good! Never thought my S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Addiction would lead me to this masterpiece!

While this obviously draws heavily from the ambience and the themes of Stalker, Metro, and perhaps Dark, this is nonetheless a very well executed work of art. Well done, the atmosphere was chilling!

@@prat391 I don't know aout that one, definitely feels many times more inspired by other russian influences.
I felt mainly like it was the Stalker universe and fully agree with these being made, loved the series and hope stalker 2 works out.
Or rather, it also draws from the old Russian / Soviet nuclear apocalypse literature. Just like Metro, Stalker and such.
Oh my... I was immersed every single step of the way. This is easily one of the best indie animated films I've seen.

The music sting when they walk anywhere or see anything important is right out of Annihilation, as well as the general theme of the short. This is really cool!

That they were chunks of graphite from a reactor core made it all the more potent.
Not rocks. Those where pieces of RBMK reactor core graphite. As a tie into the Chernobyl and St. Petersburg reactor accidents.

Yeah everyones saying Stalker vibes but this one was more of a CONTROL style to me or SCP stuff. Very cool anyways.

yeah I think its because things like that seem to have no structure or pattern, it is just uncontrolled chaos, and our brains cant process that fact.
I loved CONTROL because it scratched the itch that the STALKER series left behind.

This is giving me major SCP vibes. The tough and stern military men in black gear are MTF, the more heavily suited guys look8mg at the anomaly are the researchers and scientists, right down to the D-Class Evgeniy in orange! Loved this so much.

Это просто бесподобная реализация мира Сталкер! Единственный фильм в данном жанре, который я посмотрел на одном дыхании. Полное погружение в атмосферу.

Есть любительский фильм корейского автора про наёмника. Тоже сталкер,картина неимоверно доставила удовольствие. Тот случай,когда хочется стереть память и пересмотреть.
Эту короткометражку сделал серб который просто вдохновлялся сталкером. Но эта короткометражка не про мир сталкера.

Или если вы на самом деле не учёный, а спецура из числа "западных партнёров", для которых русский и его культурные особенности, в обращении между его носителями, не родные от слова совсем.

This is.. remarkable! This is what I dream at night of doing in my life, creating a epic piece of cinema with UE. What a huge inspirational piece of work. In shy of 10 mins this felt full and resolved. Such great work, take pride in this accomplishment!

This was fucking phenomenal!
The music, the sound design, the cinematography and visual storytelling done in such a short movie, it really feels like a small scenario taken from a fully fleshed out universe.
This short scene tells us so much yet we know nothing at all what let up this moment and what happens after.

Saw who he was. What his fears where and why he was made to come. An innocent, more or less. So the entity killed the enemy and cleared out. Taking the radiation with it. ( Evgenys dosimeter is either burned out or the radiation is gone. )
Yeah the guy in those green hazmats turning around are way more scarier than the anomaly itself that's a great way to point out who's the real monster
The blood splatter was kinda backwards though, wasn't it?
Instead of blood spray away from the center, it was towards the anomaly... Strange.
@@Lavonne9870 I took it to mean the bad guys had been killed and their bodies driven backwards after the initial impact, leaving a short blood trail.

Getting real strong Roadside picnic vibes and loving every second.
Roadside Picnic is what inspired S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R is what inspired this short film.

This is outstanding. The image quality is similiar to the HBO Chernobyl movie. But the story and the anomaly so Stalker and Metro! And the background music! Jesus...phenomenal! Thx I hope you make a series or something about this. I am a fan already!

I love the story. It has no real context but you can tell from the start when he sees the floating graphite blocks, and then the dead soldier, that it was all forshadowing something and it was amazing.

Outstanding work. I like how good the mix of STALKER vibes and the unpredictability of the original Roadside Picnic works with a littlebit of Annihilation on top.
PS: Can we get some wallpaper versions of some scenes, for example when they enter the forest?
This was badass, the atmosphere is amazing and the rigging of the models even more so.

The Geiger counter was really what made me scared. Its like, whenever i hear that sound my brain screams "DANGER. DANGER. DANGER. DANGER. DANGER. DANGER." And to go back. It was really a great touch

This was very interesting. The mood was incredibly oppressive, with the dead forest and the feeling of believing the sky would fall at any moment. Having not played any of the games mentioned, I'm pretty lost as to what this is about other than Russian team visits gravitational anomaly made of graphite blocks and is apparently sentient.
