How to get from London Heathrow Airport to Central London by London Underground/Tube

In this video, I head from London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 into Central London, and I bring you along the way. I take the cheap option, the Piccadilly Line, buy my tickets, travel in to the city, and show you what to expect ;)

Just to note, certain prices have gone up since the video was released, including Piccadilly Line trains which now charges the Peak charge all day. Check the Single Fair Finder in the description. Also, the Elizabeth Line now is connected and now reaches all over London!

I'll be staying at the Sheraton-Heathrow Hotel in early November. It's right by LHR. I land at 7:00, will go through Immigration, go to my hotel, check in, stash my bags 🎒 because it's too early to check in, head back to LHR and try and master the Tube system. 😀 👍

Thanks- I learned a lot- we are coming to London next autumn and will be using the tube to get around. Is the Rail Card a discount card?
Yeah, so it's a discount card that you can get for £30 for a year that gives you 1/3 off most rail tickets in Britain. You can also load onto an Oyster card to get 1/3 off too. There's different railcards for different people so have a search online for more info!
Any Red Bus from T5, T2/3 to Hatton Cross: 1.65 Hopper Fare, free tube Hatton Cross to Zone 1, if done within 60 minutes.
But likely not possible in that amount of time.
Hi I love your video a lot and the way you did it👍🏻Good job. I have a couple of questions to you: what is the fare for adult from terminal 5 to central london? Is it 3,50 off-peak? ( you paid 2,20 with Your rail card correct? Moreover I need to get to Southwark station so can I use the same fare only changing the tube line I believe twice (District and Jubilee) to Southwark station?
As far as I know, since the video was uploaded, off-peak fares have ben scrapped from Heathrow, and the prices have gone up since March 2023. And yeah, when changing lines, there's no need to tap on and off again. Only need to when you get your destination:)
You are right- looks like No More off-peak fare ( nów is anytime fare of 5,60 still ok) thanks again for help. May I ask you any further questions I may have on visiting London?

Hi, thanks for this! Just wondering how late all of these trains run? We’ll be arriving at Heathrow around 9:45pm and we’ll have to go through immigration. Will there be any available trains into London that late? Thank you
Hey, you'll be just fine. During the week, the Tube normally run till like midnight with Sundays being a little bit earlier (like 30-40 mins). Friday and Saturday evenings, trains run all through the night.

How can I get to Park Royal or Acton town by the piccadilly line? It looks like it splits on the tube map?
Acton Town is where the two branches meet up. You'd change there for Acton Town
