I recently changed all clocks in our house (except my phone and watch) so the kids think its 20 minutes later than it is. This way, they go to bed earlier and get ready for school sooner. It's the best thing I've done to help things to run smoothly around here!
My top tip is “never leave a room empty handed”. Whenever you are going somewhere in the house, car or garden, always have a look if there is anything you can take with you. It keeps the clutter down. My husband and son join in now too and it’s really made a difference.
Im a single parent and studying midwifery full time and I have barley any energy left for cleaning and basic house work stuff. I needed this video to get back into being organised. Thank you!
I was a student nurse with a 1 year old and I won’t lie, I lived in total mess and filth lol. Prioritise your studies and baby :) rest can wait. Now I’m a health visitor and can afford a cleaner :) will all be so worth it xx
I have very little help during the working week and what works for me organisationally is after the child falls asleep for the night to do only what's necessary for the night and for right after waking up and shift the rest to the morning and rather wake up earluer before the child in the morning. Cause in the evening I'm so exhausted that everything takes 2-3 times longer. Also I combine food delivery or half pre-made foods(frozen veggies, fish sticks, baby purees etc.) with home made food to save some time and energy. But I obviously have some level of help around so I cannot imagine how difficult it is to be the only parent, big respect for that and all the best!
-The ‘one touch rule’ is amazing. Basically means that when you pick something up put it away in its designated space immediately. -Have a stair basket at the top of the stairs and the bottom! Makes transporting items so easy -Taking out the kids outfits the night before -Setting up a breakfast tray with all the required cereal, cutlery, bowls etc the night before (for busy mornings) -Fold tumble dried laundry immediately after drying. It will all be softer and less creasy. You can even get away with not ironing some things
I love this, particularly that it includes a section that emphasises that being organised and prepared is a family effort. Dads can help, kids can help and everyone should feel this is their family space that can and should contribute to. There are lots of amazing tips in here - so motivating - but as much as we all want to be super mum, we should aim to be super families, super parents, super kids. It'd be amazing if your hubby could make a video on how he helps, I feel some families lack this inspiration.
I absolutely love that you let mum's know it is impossible to do everything and that is ok! Too much pressure for mum's to think that if their not perfect at everything their not a good mum. Keep doing the best you can. That's all that matters ☺️☺️☺️
Thank you, great video. The thing that helps me the most is doing one job each day eg the bathroom, food shop, hoovering. I always make Sunday’s a no housework day. It works for my family 😊😊 The best thing is to do what works for your family as all households run slightly differently.
One day my daughter asked how I cleaned up so fast in our living room and I told her " because everything has a place to go." Makes the process so much easier
I always ever since you mentioned it waaayyyy back when follow the "one touch" method, i can't tell you how something so simple has helped me so much! I have 2 little boys Frayser(3) and Freddie (8months)and your channel has changed my life 🥰😍👍xx
@@charntellamb3980 its basically touch something once... for example if your coat needs putting away instead of hanging it on a bannister put it straight away so its only been touched once.. your then not doubling up doing things (if that makes sense?!) X
My top three things to do each day when I had a baby were 1. Having a shower and getting dressed 2. Feeding and looking after my baby and 3. Listening to the news (so at least I knew what was happening in the world)! I found those first years terrifying and I sometimes struggled to get through the day but we made it. My girls are now 23 and 27! I did many of the things you mentioned but it took time to figure out how to get (some of the stuff) done. I swear it took me 20 years to figure out I could get so much done in only ten minutes. It really is a lifesaver!
Swapping house cleaning with you and a friend is a good thing to do aswell. Because we never like cleaning our own house, but we are always happy to help a friend :)
I try to stay organized (when I can) 21 month old and 11 week old.. my goal is the 5 minute rule. Most task take around that amount of time so when I catch myself having a five minute window I try to do what is visibly needing done first.
For me one of the main organizing "goals" that works great for me is to not cause extra work for myself. - I hang the laundry straight, so I don't have to iron it, and just fold it neatly. - I clean the tip/corner and bottom of the ketchup, maple sirup, milk, honey ... before putting it away (this way, I don't get the fridge/ cupboard dirty as fast) - If I do a big shopping and the fridge is emptier than usual, I quickly wipe down everything that I feel could use that extra sweep (so I then place clean objects into an always-clean-fridge) - I clean surfaces after using them (or dishes while cooking) so I don't dirty other things from them - I have a special way for fast-folding clean clothes I either tried on in a hurry and decided not to wear, or clothes I wore for only a small period of time and that are clean; I also have a dedicated spot for them (this way I don't have extra unnecessary laundry and damage my clothes less by washing them less. I often opt for a "worn but not stinky" shirt when I'm going to work out etc) - I fill in the dishwasher in a way that it will be easier or faster for me to unload - I also tend to match clothes (category-wise or person-wise) in the laundry so I feel like I have less piles when folding it - If my shoes are dirty I wash them along with my hands when I come home (the thoroughness of the wash depends partly on the time and how soon I will need to wear them again), so they have time to dry out but also aren't "left unattended to" It's a bunch of silly little things but I have marketed to myself (as a lazy person) as ones that will spare me some work and make my life easier :D and they keep me calmer and happier ! ^^
Definitely needed to hear its ok to not finish everything in one day, I’ve been tryna figure out how to make things flow easier as a mother of 3 and balance other things , this video was very helpful, thank you!
For everyone who is watching this video: those tips really work but be patient and forgiving to yourself and slowly get one by one into your life. I have incorporated bunch of Emilie’s tips through past 3 years starting with one stepson in my life and having 2 stepkids and 2 babies on my own by today. So total 4 kids and a lot of chaos :) as example one of the latest things I have added to my daily routine is speed clean and I e been speed cleaning the kitchen right now while watching this video and did prep chicken for the dinner. And I don’t feel tired or bored anyhow because I was listening motivating video. Often I watch travel vlogs to make my mind totally away from the chores and feel even refreshed after such video and speed clean mix. And I’m not the person who likes to clean :) the next two are meal prep and toys rotating in my list to involve into our big family life. Thanks Emily for all the good tips♥️
These are very good habits. I always write a list and set a timer for tasks, or otherwise I get distracted by other things . If I’m putting the kettle on or something in the toaster I will do something for them few mins could be folding some washing or putting washing up away . I get everything ready the night before as well . I follow the organised mum method and just do small amounts of cleaning a day this works for me and helps me to keep on top of cleaning without feeling like I’m cleaning constantly xx
I use lots of these tips but one that really works for me is I have my home divided into 9 zones. Our school terms are 9 or 10 weeks long so each week during I'll do those irregular chores in one of those zones. So it might be week one kitchen and I'll do the oven and pantry, week 2 lounge so I'll pull all the furniture out and vaccumm behind. How much gets done may depend on my week. Then in the holidays I get my kids to help do their rooms.
I appreciate your relaxed attitude towards living. Some people get so uptight. That's my top tip. Accept that you can't do everything. Do what you can for the season of life you're in and be kind to yourself. 😊🤎🙏🏾
I truly needed this! I have a 2.5 yr old and an 8 month old and I struggle to find enough time to juggle work, the house, the kids, the hubby etc! Happy 7 years on youtube Emily! ❤️ xx
Wow Loredana you have a lot to deal with. You shouldn't be juggling a husband though!! 7 years, thank you, I cannot believe it! Thanks for watching and always commenting xx
Hi Emily, I just want to say thank you for all the tips that you share. Motherhood is sometimes overwhelming and your smile and your videos keep me motivated and organized. Thanks again, love your family 😘
I have been watching you for years.. you have motivated me loads to just get up and get things done .. I find your videos very therapeutic.. my favourite TH-camr by far x
I would say get up early . I do miracle mornings .....im more productive in the morning . My kids are adults so i dont have that worry but ive still lots to do. Oh and be consistent religiously it becomes so easy and becomes a habit x
Thanks a lot for these great tips. My take home tip is meal planning and meal preping. Its something i have been trying to do and i always find that the weeks i meal plan am normally more orgnaised and have peace of mind.
Hi Emily! My four year old daughter and I love your channel so much! We look forward to your videos and she always asks “can we watch an Emily video please??” Thank you for all you do, you always cheer me up 🥰. We love your family!
After I watched your video I just realized that just waking up before my one year old boy, I think everything would be much easier for me. I am a 46 years old woman with a small very active baby and my energy is not as much as yours. But you give very nice tips and ideas that I can swear will help a lot. xoxo!
I always hear my grandmother's words "don't go empty handed" in my mind so I try to combine tasks or take things where they need to go. It reminds me of your tip some time back of the "one touch method" that stuck with me. Thank you, Emily for all the tips and life lessons, they make me feel more prepared as a mum of two boys 4.5 years and 9 months)💙 love your channel and keep up the great content
Since becoming a mum last year Iv just absolutely loved allllll of your videos - everything is so thorough and well thought out and helpful. Really appreciate all of your ideas 😀 xx thank you xx
I’m trying to get into the habit of “do it now” which saves time instead of putting something down before actually putting it away. I also like to set timers to get things done
This video couldn’t of come at a better time! Really struggling at the moment being a single mummy to a 1 year old! My house is an absolute mess and it’s having an effect on my mental health. Amazing tips & information, thank you!!!
This video was so helpful! I’m loving reading all of the tips in the comments too! I have a very busy 19 month old so I’ll definitely be using a lot of these tips. My best tip is do as much of the housework before nap time/sleeping and try to encourage your child to help. That way when they’re asleep you can focus on other things you need to do instead of doing the dishes or laundry etc
Hi emily. I am always up at 5am. This gives me time to do housework meal prep and sort my dogs before work if i am on days/earlys. Your videos are just great. X
I need this in my life more than anything else 😭😭 I've written down some of ur points and try to do them as much as possible from now .... I feel better even watching this 😍🥰
Lovely video Emily ❤ For me, what helps (if you have the space for it), keep a spray bottle of detergent in each bathroom so whenever I have time in the day I can do a quick clean everyday.
Some things that work for me; LISTS ARE EVERYTHING!! always wrote everything down that needs to be done or reminders Don’t leave anything for ‘later’, while u have the energy get as much done so end of the day u can relax
Love the idea to pick a day to clean, and change your mindset. I feel like I get to the weekend and have the expectation to clean the whole house, batch cook and have loads of family time. Usually expect to be able to wash my hair without kids under my feet too. Then end up feeling disappointed I don’t get it all done. My husband always says I give myself to much to do 🤦🏼♀️Thanks Emily. Great ideas 🙌🏼❤️
My kids are 12 & 16 and are really good around the house. I completely agree with age appropriate jobs eg when young they can put away their socks and build up to putting all their laundry away. They always help out with a family tidy before guests arrive etc I write a list of little jobs that need doing (take out recycling, fill up loo roll holders etc) and they work through the list. Our morning routine works particularly well. I use a bit of screen time to help. When my kids were little they would have about 20 mins tv before we left the house. This stopped them getting out lots of toys and gave me time to get last bits done. As well as being an incentive to get ready quickly it was a buffer incase we were running late. It still works for my kids now as they like to check their phones or iPads before leaving for school
Love this video! I need more organization in my life. My tip is to make small routines. For example; in the morning when I get up and get the kids breakfast and make lunches etc.. I do the same thing every morning in order. I feel more organized that way and I usually don’t forget something.
Mom of three here. Fantastic tips! I also get as much done the night before to prepare for the next day. Get clothes out, lunch bag, my purse out. I learned this from my parents. My Dad would set the breakfast table, get the frying pan out or bowls for cereal and the coffee pot read to go the night before.
I have watched this video before, Emily - need to watch it again feel like I am drowning juggling house, kids and work! Love your videos, they are so relatable. Love your Happiness Jumper too, cheered me up on a very cold morning in Scotland!!
Interesting. My favourite is change your mindset. It's good that you placed it as number one on the list. Number 1 sets the stage for all the others that will follow. Good and lasting suggestions and realistic too.
You're honestly my favourite lady to watch on TH-cam, your positive mind set and the love you have for your family is really inspiring to me. I have 2 children and 3 step children and my partner struggles with his health as he is disabled, and whenever I am having a difficult day and getting annoyed with myself for not completing all the daily tasks I will watch your videos and they always lift my spirits! Much love xxxx
Love the idea of the snack boxes for the children, I often hear my daughter saying the kids have eaten her out of house and home so I have shared this with her and she loves the idea 😊😊
I like meal planning best - since the pandemic. I shop food on Monday and Friday evening and plan meals accordingly. My tip for an organized life: We have one common family calendar in the kitchen. We write all events, doctors appointments, birthday, vacation days... in. It has 5 columns, 3 for our family members, 1 for other events and 1 for the meal of the day.
Hey Emily, hope you are all well I’m good and well thank you good evening love this 20 habits and ideas to be a organised person video. I have enjoyed this how to be a organise person video because it made me feel happy and positive with the week. My favourite organised habits werr the find a way of organising meal prep and batch cook and have quiet time. I feel these 4 habits will definitely make me feel better happy and calm about the day. My favourite tip is to cleaning my kitchen and unloading my dishwasher and reloading my dishwasher because I feel it makes me feel happy whenever I have a clean kitchen and sink. Batch cooking and meal prep I find is so important because oh saves you so much time in the week I always batch cook all of my dinners in the evenings so I have lunches for the next few days being at home. Another thing which helps me to be organised and productive is to plan for the day and week ahead all the time. I try and do some work when I find a chance to have quiet working time at home too. I love your flower blouse / top so much because it made me feel happy and positive. Can we see more what I eat in a day groceries hauls day in the life morning and evening night routines cleaning motivation clean with me extreme clean and organise with me cleaning routines motivation get it all done with me packed lunch ideas ideas 20 habits and ideas summer spring autumn winter cooking kitchen cleaning hacks DIYs and ideas air fryer recipes ideas videos and lots more inspiration and happy videos coming from you soon. Just wanted to say how amazing you are. When I having a bad day I put one of your videos on and it helps to balance out all the negativity in my life. 🥰 Thank you for doing what you do, it means a lot.
It is very apparent you put great effort and time into your content/videos! This video was very helpful for me being a single, working boss mama of two under 7. Thank you, Emily! Many blessings to you and your beautiful family! ♥️
All in all you are so amazing! After watching your video I don’t watch anything else and just start doing something. Can be tidy up, cooking, me time or even just spending time with kids. Absolute Therapy 😘
My top tip ••• get ahead of it.. literally everything! Always be one step ahead of your baby’s needs and your kids, and time so yes I agree with getting everything ready the night before and always always leave earlier than later so your never rushing and snapping 🙈! Lol usually we get caught out and we know we could have prevented it. Missed watching your videos saw you pop up on Instagram and I’m so happy your video is here ready to give me a kick up the backside lol Feeling such burn out at the moment 3 kids, starting a new business from home I’m also missing making videos for TH-cam I literally have no time edit at all! Like how in hell did you do this when your boys were small ? I’m so overwhelmed and tired. Your so right about the feeling resentful when the hubby’s don’t offer lol they totally need us to just ask out right because they don’t usually think 😂 I need a cleaner my house is a bomb site my toddler is ruling the house at the moment. Thanks for a great video again emily ❤️
This point of asking the partner to start doing things that they don't notice or offer to help, I tried when I had my baby, and he just said I was always asking for stuff... 🙄
Something that worked for me was when I'd ask (and I mean ask nicely...don't ask when you're mad or be passive aggressive) and he'd do it, I would thank him profusely and genuinely. After a while he started doing the chores without me asking! It's easy to get into the mindset that you shouldn't "have" to ask or "have" to thank him for what we consider the bare minimum, but for some it just doesn't come intuitively. Think about what makes a good boss at a regular job - a good boss sets clear expectations and then show appreciation when you meet those expectations well. For example: "Babe, when you get a chance in the next hour, can you empty the dishwasher and load the old dishes please?" Later.... "Hey, really appreciate that you took care of those dishes earlier. I was super busy with the baby and it helped ease my mind so much. Thank you!" Hang in there, it's definitely hard on your marriage having kids - it's like you gotta start over figuring out how to communicate. My husband and I fought a lot until we hit a new stride.
@@surlespasdondine lol we thought we were on the same page too, and turns out that things that bothered me didn't bother him at all so we definitely had to work on our communication! Good idea trying to suss it out before kids too - a good foundation helps :)
My top tips is "to do the 3 minutes round around tidy up at the end of the day everyday/night the quickiest you can. It helps me with our 3 small kids. I am your no. fan. Thank you for the motivation tips and being inspiration to us.
Thank you so much for making this video. It really is helpful. I am a new mom with toddler, i moved to another country and i have to do all by myself now, i used to have helper before. I need to organise everything. I'm gona apply your tips. Thanks a lot. Stay healthy 💕😘
I still can't get over how amazing Jackson's room looks! You did such a great job and I'm sure he will treasure it for a long time Edit: I think I get that elephant thing. Get the big, looming job done first instead of doing lots of little things to delay it, like getting rid of an elephant instead of trying to delay the ants for a while.
Some good tips there thanks 👍🏽 I like to sort the washing into piles on a Sunday evening (as I don’t tend to do any on Sat & Sun’s) in the utility room and get the first load into the machine on a “delayed end” so in the morning it’s washed and ready to go out on the line. I also often make blueberry and banana muffins and pop them in the freezer. I then get one out for each of my daughters each evening to defrost and they have that with a glass of milk and a piece of fruit for their breakfast. If we’re in a rush they can always eat them on the way to school!👍🏽👍🏽
hey Emily, I love your videos, they are always fun to watch and your tips are highly appreciated. You have such a lovely and happy personality. Please continue producing such helpful, fun and genuine content. I have to ask where you got your jumpers from...? (yellow with "happiness", black and grey with the rainbow) thanks 😁
I try to use one paper and one electronic diary/planner at a time - for the paper one if it’s a plain notebook I use the front for family/blog stuff and the back for work - this helps keep everything in one place rather than me leaving notes everywhere! Microsoft Planner is another good one 🙂
@@jessicamoylan I literally cannot believe how tough some days can be - I don’t know how I’ve got through this many already lol 😆! Almost 2 is such a lovely age isn’t it? My eldest is a complete charmer & a complete tornado all at the same time! x
@@jodekelly7861 yess your right it’s so tough. But so are us moms 🥰 I’d like to say it gets easier as they get older but we seem to just get more and more challenges handed our way 🙈 parenting really moulds us grown ups too. Your eldest sounds just like my daughter at the moment she is so funny and sweet like butter wouldn’t melt then she is a complete different person, sometimes I have to laugh or I’ll cry lol 😂 it’s nice to know I’m not alone lol xxx
Totally understand the part u said we need to have time away for ourselves then we can come back and take on again. ;)..really makes a big difference before we are burned out..
I used to be super extra organised before but now with a 6 and a 7 years old and moving to a tiniest apartment ever due to covid job crisis... I am mentaly under so much pressure 😖 My brain needs organised surroundings and gets none !!!! I hope this can help me 😍
Get up before the kids stretch and shower so you feel put together. Have a day a week that you know your partner will cook and you can focus on something else. Like play time with the kids. Have post it notes somewhere (ours are on the back door) to remind you of things you need to do and everyone can do them. Make your bed as soon as you get out of it. Thanks for sharing your tips Em!
I loved when I first learned the toy rotation and I like the idea of ten minute tidy up. Also I like the idea of laying out clothes the night before - I used to do it but then I kind of lost it and now got reminded to do it again
Really enjoyed the video and the tips. I am not a natural born organized person, and i can use all the help I can get 💖 I have 2 boys, 4 and 2 years old, and the 3rd one is on the way. It's definitely easier when the 2 older boys are able to go to nursery. The lockdowns were harsh on all of us 😢 hopefully I will be getting more organized with time.
The don't sit down thing is so very true, especially after work when I'm tired. I get everything done then I can sit knowing everything is ready for the next day.
I’m so trying to be organised but does anyone else have a “Monica” cupboard? Feel overwhelmed sometimes that I just throw things in there to sort later and it never happens 🤦♀️ thank you for more inspiration Emily! Love your videos x
Omg Emily our handwriting is almost IDENTICAL. I literally had to replay your list and look at it again because I felt Ike I was looking at one of my own lists!! So crazy! These are great tips too. I definitely need to work on improving my mindset!
You are so organised Emily, well done you. I’m a bit OCD! And love a clean and tidy house but do you have any tips for people who work full time and have a family to keep? During the last 12 months I’ve also become a carer for my 91 year old mom but I have a big house, two teenagers and a partner who only stays a few nights a week but it still means cleaning up and providing meals for 4. Now the gyms are open, I’m trying to go there 3 times a week too but it’s all a bit mad! I’ve taken on a lot of your tips but it’s hard when working full time
If you prepear everything the night before set yourself a time limit, and don't break it bc I remember not being able to sleep as a child because I know my mom isn't sleeping and will be tired tomorrow, and tired moms aren't spreading the most positive vibes
The 10min challenge is quite useful. I have three girls and the second one(3year old) is having insecure feeling I think that's why she's alway having trouble fall asleep or slept but woke up in the middle of night and requires only me to take care of her. That kind of waking up drains all my energy. And I can't really function well in the day time. But seeing your video, I may change something, like prep the meal and cook a big amount of food. When I can cook, cook more.(at the moment l shud not care too much about if my husband liked to eat different meal everyday 😂)
Small Tips that changed my life: any task, work, feeling about something someone or your self that U don’t love and gets you being tired , just say that you love it and your mind will change your feeling ( like I say to my self that I love to be busy and get tired, and that helped me to feel not tired quickly and keep running all day doing things 👍🏻
Loved this @EmilyNorris! I have an 8yo & a 7yo. I LOVE a list - it's a bit of a standing joke that I have a list for practically everything 🤣🤣🤣 I really loved your ideas for setting out the kid's snacks for the day - this Easter holiday, my husband decided to start doing a packed lunch for them when he did their breakfasts, so that they'd be ready for lunch, and if they were able to go out for a walk, all they had to do is grab the lunch bags (& our eldest has packed lunches at school anyway, so it's not a new routine to hubby). I also really like your idea of quiet time for the kids - obviously screen time can sometimes get use too much (& that's definitely true in our house - but a lot of the time, it can end up being a losing battle hey??!) - I'm definitely going to introduce quiet time to our day - maybe give them half hour quiet time after school where they can do what they want before they then have to do any homework or chores - & then on the weekends or holidays, give them quiet time after lunch, as you say, as though it's their nap time (depending of course on what's happening that day haha!!!!) I always love your videos and social media posts, and I usually watch one or two of them when I come up to bed - sort of a "guilty pleasure/wind down" time lol xXx
💯 toy rotation! Also saves me money because my kids feel like they are getting new toys. We change out the bins on the first of the month. It’s faster to clean too.
Hey Emily Love this as a mum to two boys (8 and 6 months) I was finding hard to find the right flow to us but giving it time and watching a few of your vids has been a big help. Thank you x Your Amazon link isn’t working x
.... Thank you for this video. You always get me back in the groove or forgive myself for being out of the "groove". No clue how I would have gotten through my first 3 years of parenting without you. The face mask part just hit home for me hahahaha :) I love them and I think I'll go do one now. Feeling grateful for that too.
Really grateful for this video. it helped me address a personal need to conquer this area. Love your HAPPINESS top and the big SMILE on your pillow. Positive reinforcements. BLESSINGS
Your videos are the besttttt. Thank you for the great tips. Hard to get out of a rut sometimes. I’m also a mum of 3. And it can get chaotic at times 😂 really enjoy having 5 minutes to watch your videos and relax xx
I would love to see a video how to organise documents? What documents are worth to keep, what we can throw away. How long to keep such as... How keep it nice and tidy in this subject? What you think?;) 😘
Love this. Might watch it again and again to keep reminding myself. :) How do you keep up with ironing? I always iron most of my clothes before putting them back in the cupboard. Any useful tips? Also, do you iron your all the clothes you and your children wear at home too?
Thankyou so much for this video very much needed as just recently been feeling a little overwhelmed and unmotivated with the organisation of family life and household tasks an trying to manage it all just feels like a mammoth task right now but having watched this video now as always when I watch your videos just get that new found inspiration again and motivation to get back on track again. so Thankyou 👍 (iv even saved it to look back on for the next time) lol 😂
Ahh this woman, just listening to Emily makes me feel more organised. Really enjoy your videos. Super friendly non-judgemental vibe. Love it
Amen to that
I recently changed all clocks in our house (except my phone and watch) so the kids think its 20 minutes later than it is. This way, they go to bed earlier and get ready for school sooner. It's the best thing I've done to help things to run smoothly around here!
Genius! Totally stealing that idea in a few years! 😂
I do the same thing! No more running late 😂
Aaaaaa a wax.a pin c do n lip po N
My mom does the same thing for many years already.-)
Wish there had been organizing and cleaning videos 30 years ago. I think it would have helped! Great video 😊😊
My top tip is “never leave a room empty handed”. Whenever you are going somewhere in the house, car or garden, always have a look if there is anything you can take with you. It keeps the clutter down. My husband and son join in now too and it’s really made a difference.
Soooo hellful
That’s SUCH a good tip! 🙌🏼 it would help so much if all the kids and hubby did this too.
Thankyiu for sharing this 🥰
Such a good tip! Defo going to try this one x
You are totally right about it. Unfortunately, I am the only one is having this habit at home.
My mum used to say never go upstairs empty handed, its stuck with me for 50 years
Im a single parent and studying midwifery full time and I have barley any energy left for cleaning and basic house work stuff. I needed this video to get back into being organised. Thank you!
Wish the best for you...! Take it one step at a time
Stay strong. You will pull through..remember to prioritise well.dont be harsh on yourself.
I was a student nurse with a 1 year old and I won’t lie, I lived in total mess and filth lol. Prioritise your studies and baby :) rest can wait. Now I’m a health visitor and can afford a cleaner :) will all be so worth it xx
All the best! So amazing what your doing x
Makes transporting items so easy
-Taking out the kids outfits the night before
-Setting up a breakfast tray with all the required cereal, cutlery, bowls etc the night before (for busy mornings)
-Fold tumble dried laundry immediately after drying.
Best tip (that works for me as a Christian mom) waking up at least an hour earlier than my toddler to read my devotional and do my prayers. ⭐️✌️
I do this too. I find spending time immersing myself in scripture before my four kiddos aged between 9-2 wake up really helps me have a great day.
Amen
Love this.
As a Muslim I do the same, praying early morning and reading my holy book
@@arshirashid7240 yup. Thats why we have subuh prayer..
It works for my family 😊😊 The best thing is to do what works for your family
as all households run slightly differently.
Having a dedicated space for everything, helps just speed o the cleaning process
One day my daughter asked how I cleaned up so fast in our living room and I told her " because everything has a place to go."
Makes the process so much easier
I always ever since you mentioned it waaayyyy back when follow the "one touch" method, i can't tell you how something so simple has helped me so much! I have 2 little boys Frayser(3) and Freddie (8months)and your channel has changed my life 🥰😍👍xx
Ah Emma I couldn't ❤️this message enough! Thank you, it means the world. Thanks for watching xx
Yes!!!! This one was a life saver
What is the one touch method please?❤️

- I clean the tip/corner and bottom of the ketchup, maple sirup, milk, honey ... before putting it away (this way, I don't get the fridge/ cupboard dirty as fast)
- If I do a big shopping and the fridge is emptier than usual, I quickly wipe down everything that I feel could use that extra sweep (so I then place clean objects into an always-clean-fridge)
- I clean surfaces after using them (or dishes while cooking) so I don't dirty other things from them
- I have a special way for fast-folding clean clothes I either tried on in a hurry and decided not to wear, or clothes I wore for only a small period of time and that are clean; I also have a dedicated spot for them (this way I don't have extra unnecessary laundry and damage my clothes less by washing them less. I often opt for a "worn but not stinky" shirt when I'm going to work out etc)
- I fill in the dishwasher in a way that it will be easier or faster for me to unload
- I also tend to match clothes (category-wise or person-wise) in the laundry so I feel like I have less piles when folding it
- If my shoes are dirty I wash them along with my hands when I come home (the thoroughness of the wash depends partly on the time and how soon I will need to wear them again), so they have time to dry out but also aren't "left unattended to"
It's a bunch of silly little things but I have marketed to myself (as a lazy person) as ones that will spare me some work and make my life easier :D and they keep me calmer and happier ! ^^
My top tip is organize one thing a day. Can be a huge thing or a small thing... Also one chore per day. If you get that chore done, good on you.
Toy rotation is a game changer! I have 4 children and this has made my life 100 times easier !
Love the ‘quiet time’ tip. Mum guilt is the worst!! You’ve made me feel better 😘
I started following The Organised Mum Method for cleaning my house and it's totally changed my life! As someone who hates housework, it's just genius!
You’re doing a great job Mammy! 👍👍
Oh bless her Ashton 😘 Thanks for both watching xx
Can you do a video on “organising my pantry” I saw your video on how to organise a fridge and it got me wondering about a pantry xx
She has done a video about a pantry I thing
I need a pantry first, ask me again in about a year Halima! Thanks for watching xx
lovely
I feel better even watching this 😍🥰
Lovely video Emily ❤
For me, what helps (if you have the space for it), keep a spray bottle of detergent in each bathroom so whenever I have time in the day I can do a quick clean everyday.
I will try the self care one because sometimes i get so caught up with life that i forget how to look after myself not worrying about other people xx
Yes you need to take care of yourself bye queen or king👑👑👑

Some things that work for me;
LISTS ARE EVERYTHING!! always wrote everything down that needs to be done or reminders
Don’t leave anything for ‘later’, while u have the energy get as much done so end of the day u can relax
Emily I must say your approach is very realistic and your delivery is matured. I am from Ghana and this is so applicable to my context.
I always quote your “be kind to your future self!”.....so easy and important!
Dont you think you always write too much
I dont even think emily read all your comment because all the time you write the same thing
Yes I do sometimes I write too much all the time but next time I will try to write a shorter comment hopefully. 😊
Missed watching your videos saw you pop up on Instagram and I’m so happy your video is here ready to give me a kick up the backside lol
Feeling such burn out at the moment 3 kids, starting a new business from home I’m also missing making videos for TH-cam I literally have no time edit at all! Like how in hell did you do this when your boys were small ? I’m so overwhelmed and tired.
Your so right about the feeling resentful when the hubby’s don’t offer lol they totally need us to just ask out right because they don’t usually think 😂
I need a cleaner my house is a bomb site my toddler is ruling the house at the moment.
Thanks for a great video again emily ❤️
Yes, definitely MATT would help if he made a video about why he is helping out in his family. Maybe my husband would learn from it...
This point of asking the partner to start doing things that they don't notice or offer to help, I tried when I had my baby, and he just said I was always asking for stuff... 🙄
@@surlespasdondine yeah. That's what I would expect. But since he didn't do any at all, I thought, maybe if I ask, he'll understand. But nope...
For example:
"Babe, when you get a chance in the next hour, can you empty the dishwasher and load the old dishes please?"
Later....
"Hey, really appreciate that you took care of those dishes earlier. I was super busy with the baby and it helped ease my mind so much. Thank you!"
Hang in there, it's definitely hard on your marriage having kids - it's like you gotta start over figuring out how to communicate. My husband and I fought a lot until we hit a new stride.
@@surlespasdondine lol we thought we were on the same page too, and turns out that things that bothered me didn't bother him at all so we definitely had to work on our communication! Good idea trying to suss it out before kids too - a good foundation helps :)
@@surlespasdondine this is a fab idea! I think I’m going to go on strike too!
You did such a great job and I'm sure he will treasure it for a long time
Edit: I think I get that elephant thing.
You are such a diligent and hardworking mum. Wow thank you so much for these wonderful tips ❤
I try to use one paper and one electronic diary/planner at a time - for the paper one if it’s a plain notebook I use the front for family/blog stuff and the back for work - this helps keep everything in one place rather than me leaving notes everywhere! Microsoft Planner is another good one 🙂
God I could not need this more right now with a 22 month old and a 7 month old! Can’t wait!
My boys are the same age gap! Theyre now 12 & 11 but my gosh I remember it well! My 3rd is 21months and she is ruling the house atm 😩🙈 x

Lovely tips.....struggling here as a 1st time mom in a new country....just moved from India to the UK 1 year ago...Thanks a lot 😊
Thanks for sharing your tips Em!

i was so in need of this video. 😔😔 You always know what we need most.. Thanks Emily 💓💓💓
😘 Thanks for watching xx
I love the idea of the snacks boxes! Not only for children but also for us! Great video! Thank you so much! 🥳🥳🥳
I loved when I first learned the toy rotation and I like the idea of ten minute tidy up. Also I like the idea of laying out clothes the night before - I used to do it but then I kind of lost it and now got reminded to do it again
Should I be watching this with a coffee and slice of lemon cake ?!🤣
Yes!!!
Thank you so much for Tipps and for sharing your experiences with us 💝 this video was exactly what I needed right now!

I’m so trying to be organised but does anyone else have a “Monica” cupboard? Feel overwhelmed sometimes that I just throw things in there to sort later and it never happens 🤦♀️ thank you for more inspiration Emily! Love your videos x
I know exactly what you mean! It's this one cupboard, which is waiting for me since last year, before all of this stuff about covid evan started🙈🙀

I have a whole spare room, we just pretend it doesn’t exist 😂
Omg Emily our handwriting is almost IDENTICAL. I literally had to replay your list and look at it again because I felt Ike I was looking at one of my own lists!! So crazy! These are great tips too. I definitely need to work on improving my mindset!
Really love the tidy up tips that you implemented in your family! I need to try that so cleaning doesn’t always feel like a huge job
I loved all your tips. I like the most is self-care which we don't do when we become mom. So I definitely need to focus on that too. ☺️☺️
Regarding Tip nr 3, Brian Tracy call it and wrote book about that: "Eat that frog" ;-)
I’ve taken on a lot of your tips but it’s hard when working full time
I’m pleased TH-cam suggested this and you! Love being an organised mum but need all the tips!
I LOVE a list - it's a bit of a standing joke that I have a list for practically everything 🤣🤣🤣
I really loved your ideas for setting out the kid's snacks for the day - this Easter holiday, my husband decided to start doing a packed lunch for them when he did their breakfasts, so that they'd be ready for lunch, and if they were able to go out for a walk, all they had to do is grab the lunch bags (& our eldest has packed lunches at school anyway, so it's not a new routine to hubby). I also really like your idea of quiet time for the kids - obviously screen time can sometimes get use too much (& that's definitely true in our house - but a lot of the time, it can end up being a losing battle hey??!) - I'm definitely going to introduce quiet time to our day - maybe give them half hour quiet time after school where they can do what they want before they then have to do any homework or chores - & then on the weekends or holidays, give them quiet time after lunch, as you say, as though it's their nap time (depending of course on what's happening that day haha!!!!)
I always love your videos and social media posts, and I usually watch one or two of them when I come up to bed - sort of a "guilty pleasure/wind down" time lol xXx
💯 toy rotation! Also saves me money because my kids feel like they are getting new toys. We change out the bins on the first of the month. It’s faster to clean too.
