Most of these people committing the crime in places like Oakland and other places around the United States are far more wealthy than folks and other countries. Yet they still commit crimes. I wonder why. Could It maybe possibly be that it's a culturized trend that the young black community just loves? There will be zero change if there is no extreme authorty measures taken.

You don't need "visionaries" you to enforce the rule of law. Pretty simple. I used to fly to the Bay Area every week for business from SoCal. I enjoyed flying into Oakland International Airport. I always filled up my rental car at the Shell gas station on Hegenberger. My last time (and it will be my last time) using this station I went inside to purchase a soda and a thief broke into my locked car and took my carry-on. Despite his fat belly he was amazingly quick. Apparently, this is a common occurrence. I suspect the owner of the gas station probably gets a cut of the proceeds. Oakland? No way!

Yep, I got bipped at the shell in July while I was literally standing at the pump filling my rental. Worse yet Oakland PD sat there and watched it all happen and did nothing. After flying in twice a year for a decade I’m saying never again. Your money and my money may just be drops in a bucket but their are a lot of drops filling that bucket up that are leaving Oakland and never coming back. I hope they are happy with themselves. From now on I am flying my daughter back home for visits instead of me going out there. It’s a shame because I had a lot of good times out there. Never again.

I think decent people were too empathetic. They thought of the golden rule, treat others as you wish to be treated. Well intentioned, but naive. People have a hard time realizing that some people really are *bad* and can't really participate in society.

Sad how far that area has fallen. I worked near Hegenberger and Doolittle from 1990 to 1995. It was decent area. I never felt unsafe. We used to go the baseball games right across the freeway all the time. I doubt I would ever go back there now.
