This is by far probably one of the hardest achievements to get in game so hopefully this video helps you guys obtain it!

Campaign wins is the easiest part.
The problem is being in a server with people good enough to get to wave 35, because carrying the server by being the only good player in the server will just get you killed.

winning 30 campaigns is harder than the 35 waves part i struggled way more with the campaign part than the 35 waves part
I got into a server that was in wave 15 and I died 2 waves after and then they got to wave 38 (I witnessed someone get the badge)
Things to need to get Old guard:
10 KDR.
Survive 35 wave in total.
Get few badge requirements.
And 1 therapy session

Every time someone broke their legs it was always the moment where I didn't have range weapons (when I play as a Sapper, Medic, or Musician)
well, if you still don't have it now i would suggest equipping a gun for the end of San Sebastian as the person who sacrifices can jump off or even someone who is late for the platform
Best strategy for getting the old guard,in endless mode,use seaman and just shoot from a long distance and pray that your team actually do something

An ideal strategy is having :
- 1 Fifer/Bugle to boost the potency of buildings and firearms.
- 2-3 Sappers, no need to explain why.
- 3-5 Melee players, helping the sappers deal with the stragglers, usually a Surgeon, a Pike, and some Officers, you can have a Priest in the group as an emergency button, but don't get more than 2 of them, Priest is the worst class offensively and stacking it doesn't work, you just don't have the damage to kill the horde fast enough.
- As much Blunderbusses as possible. See, the Blunderbuss' slow reload speed doesn't matter when you have a Fifer and 9 more blunderbuss ready to rain hell on the shamblers.
The ideal map is Hougoumont, on the opposite side of your respawn point. The wooden fence is a top tier spot to set up your Blunderbusses, as they have full vision on the horde, the small gate where 95% of the shamblers spawn is also ideal to spam into, as any Bomber/Igniters that passes through are immediately killed, eliminating their surroundings in the process.
It's a fun time for the whole lobby if you ask me, except for the Fifer. It's so boring you should immediately go for the Bugle if you don't want to fall asleep. I made the mistake of going Fifer for my Old Guard run 😅.
As a man with Old Guard for the endless requirement I did it by getting a really good team on Hugomount and sniping bombers with a blunderbuss in the corner
Yeah Hugomount is a great map to put like 7 guys in the back to form a blunderbuss volley, and the rest will be sappers and saber users for walling the zombies while the volley in the back get the bombers and reduce the numbers. I once got to wave 35 with this, and got to hear Scotland the Brave for like 20 rounds as a bagpiper played
@@jonathanlongtinhuen4938Add in a few officers/priests to let the sappers retake any lost ground, a drummer to help the melee dudes, and a surgeon or two for the goofy guys who get too close to the zombies, and you're golden!

@@noamginat4273 basically try to find a lot of pro players on Hardcore or normal match and just play as a line infantry or a shooter and stay in the back lines just let the pros carry you just don't die think of it as one life

i hope old guard gets redesigned since it really looks like the normal french sapper except the icon on the hat and face
it has red shoulder pads and the bearskin hat
I think the reasoning was that sappers were considered grenadiers anyway, which is why they have the bearskin and the shoulder pads
@@sungineer no they had bearskins to appear taller and more intimidating since one of the requorements to join was to be above 5'11
I got it a couple months ago, used it like 3 times, barely ever touched it after. It’s only worth if the Old Guard is your favorite regiment from the Napoleonic Wars.
I managed to get old guard before the October Halloween update when igniters were added and I’m considered lucky for it due to just how much igniters ruined runs after they were added
I remember those old days when you played the Rake remastered, now that you play a game that I play, I am now watching you again. I need a plan for the survive 35 waves in one life part, I was thinking about getting a private server and asking for help on a youtuber’s discord server, possibly yours.
You cant get the endless wave thingy in private servers sure youll get to wave 35 but nothingll happen in a priv server

As for the strat, the most important aspect is finding a good team to work with. I'd recommend going on a Voice Chat server for it, which can simply be done by just having it available. You don't need to turn VC on and you can mute everyone else if you want to while still being allowed in the server.
As for the exact strategy to reach 35 rounds, (Keep in mind it is survive 35 ROUNDS in a row not survive to round 35 specifically) I'd recommend going blunderbuss and staying in the back blasting igniters and bombers. The spread makes it easy to hit them while the inaccuracy doesn't matter much due the enclosed nature of endless maps.
Then all you really have to do is, well, not die. Stay back, blast those two zombies, and hope your frontline can handle the rest. That's really all there is to it. Don't take any risks, stay safe and shoot away. You'll be helping the team, racking up kills, and won't die unless the entire team gets overwhelmed. But in that case you're probably going to lose the round anyway.
Btw votex you can hold left mouse with saber out to wind up a saber swing same with axe or any other melee

If you're trying to survive wave 35. Here's the classes that I recommend. Seaman, (Most of your teammates should be seaman. For crowd controlling) Sappers, (A 2-4 sappers are enough. It should buy the seaman some time) Front liners (Frontliners should buy more time for the Seaman to reload but to those who frontline might die easily) Okay das all.
Btw to make getting to round 35 easier
Be a support class and avoid fighting in the front lines( sea man is good for hougumount because the nockgun can easily spot a igniter and you will need to shoot the igniter so not that many zombies get to the barricade or they are atleast 2 to 3 hits when coming to the barricade
Blunderbuss is really good in farm because nock gun is pretty much useless just because if the igniter walk in your rsnge they would already throw the lamp, fife and drum are good eitherway because fife gives reload and building boost while drum gives swing rate boost id not use buggle because you need to be in the front lines to give buffs
Pike and surgeon are just about the same because they are useful but needs to be in the front lines
If you have preist i recommended using it since that crucifix ability is whack but you have to exchange damage for it which i personally think is worth it
The best maps in my opinion are huogumount because you can literally see eveything from the platform which is good because of bombers and igniters and farm just because it has so much room to walk in and juke the zombies
I’m late, but one of the best strategies for wave 35 is a gunnery line of about 5 Seamen with blunderbusses, buffed by a fifer. Anyone who already died, doesn’t care or is willing to risk it just stalls zombies at the front.

The only tip I can give you is be seaman or sapper (others are alr), Also vc servers are pretty good.
Just got it yesterday. I love being a Backline Piper (basically Scottish Fifer).

Tip for people trying to get the Old Guard badge is playing in VC servers, people are much smarter and better there than in public servers (it took like 2 tries to get it in a VC server), and use a seaman with blunderbuss and stay at the back.

the very first game i ever joined on this game, i struck gold with the server. Everyone was super talkative and communicative and we actually managed to get super high survival round rate in endless. I dont remember the number honestly, but we made it beyond 25 and honestly? that was the most peak best first experience i could've ever asked for in this game

Tips for old guard.
1. The endless waves
Simply play on a map with U.K such as hougoumont or la haye sainte and use the scottish regiment for the bagpipes because they dont have metronome.
2. the campaign wins
Grind for something expensive like pike or bugle
3. KDR
Go on endless and stay at the front
4. the objective maps
I. Leipzig
Follow everyone
II. Catacombes de paris
Stay on the cannons
III. Vardohus fortress
Stay at the very back of the docks
5. Finding a good team
I. The endless part
Go into PC/Console servers for the endless, do NOT do hardcore
II. the campaigns
Go into hardcore servers, it doesnt matter if its mobile or PC hardcore
III. The teammate saves
Grind for soldiers grace, if u already have it then dont worry about it cause you would have it done already
Once you complete all of these, rejoin the game or press P multiple times. I hope this helped you all
I think the best map to get the KDR and 35 waves on may be Hougoumont. I’ve found that it’s fairly easy, especially with 3 or more players, and even more so if said players are friends who know how to play
I once made it to wave 34 before a runner grabbed me and my teammate looked at me and then walked away :/

I have 102 hours with a 40kdr and no old guard. I've tried a bunch but it's difficult as a solo. If you are active then you are in danger and if you are inactive your team may lose before 35.
La Haye Sainte is the best endless map in my opinion to get old guard on. I was about to get old guard two days ago, the server I was on was full of people who new what they were doing when we all were camping on catwalk. I was a sea man, who was using nockgun to clear zombies off the barricades, but I wasn't looking out for bombers tho, I let my other teammates look out for them because ya know how slow nockgun is to reload.
We got to wave 40, sadly I got disconnected on wave 41💀, losing my chance to get old guard in the process. I should of reseted to see if I would of got the badge, but I didn't want to because I couldn't remember what wave I joined on.
When I rejoined, I decided to join a different server, but I also checked to see if that same server I lost connection on, was still going and boy they were still going, they got to wave 68 on La Haye Sainte and probably higher and I ain't joking about that either. Never camp in the house on this map, its a terrible camping spot because theirs no way for you to escape unless your a priest.
When you camp on the catwalk in the barn on La Haye Sainte, this is what you should do. Have people with blunderbuss looking out for bombers and igniters that try to go up the ladder because their the main threat to you if you have a sapper camping with you up on the catwalk. Also some people should have grenades and water buckets just incase igniter manages to throw his lantern up their with ya'll.

got to wave 34, never been grabbed by a single zombie. but died because i accidentally dropped my grenade and i didnt realize until it blown me up..
The problem of surviving endless is that your teammates won't save you like they're blind
So all of these but the endless one you’ll eventually get simply just by playing the game

When I got old guard the 30 games was the last I did. I was a little goated at the game.
I remembered that one dude earlier, we were at Leipzig, I died I couldn't respawn, so this DUDE decided to not cross the bridge at the ending and instead kill himself... Bro could've gotten a badge lol.

What makes it difficult is that there are some stupid people who keep activating the hordes ahead of time
Me trying to get the "Soldier Grace" badge and unlock the priest role: takes 4 days to grind. (Hard as hell because everyone keep stealing the sacrifice thing in San Sebastian.)
Also me: getting the "Old Guard" badge by playing without any sweat and didn't realize that I got that badge so easily.

the first thing i did on the list was survive 35 waves and i did it first try because it was wave 30 when i joined a endless
It will not count if you get to the 35th wave by completing 5 waves. You need to complete 35 total waves in one game without dying.

My server went to wave 41 and then when the game restarted they survived at wave 30 i tired again and again.. but no because people keep herding up zombies to grief..

How to get to round 35 in rounds: 1: Go to good servers like Pc servers or sometimes German servers even though they kind of suck
2: make sure the team is nearly full (18-20)
3: become something that is a support class because you don’t really have to do anything
4: if you want to be sacrificed for your life become defensive like Sapper
5: enjoy

Im gonna be honest the only one i struggled with was the survive 35 rounds one
The only thing I need to do is endless and it didn’t work because when u join a Radom server that haves wave 25 or 15 I didn’t get it
You don't actually need to survive all of the campaigns for the 30 campaigns won, only for the badges that are needed for the old guard, and unless you're on a server full of idiots, (in my experience) you'll have to convince someone to break their legs or just hope someone's an idiot
it's hard for the wave 35 in single life... requires good teammates in public servers which is low chance to do that...
