This is one of the most impressive covers of this song I've ever heard. All your respective voices blend together perfectly in beautiful harmony. I'm so happy you shared this with the world.
It's not often I think it's better than the original unless pentatonix did the cover! You guys just might be better than the original if that's even possible! How have I not stumbled on this sooner!!
@@CP-yd7lp But there really isn't anyone who could match Pentatonix at all. I think Homefree is the second best then Voctave then at the bottom is Voiceplay. Not sure if you are familiar with the other ones
When it first started I didn't like it because of the different key, but as it went on, I became nothing but absolutely spellbound. Amazing work, guys.
I love Pentatonix and I'm glad you honored them with this beautiful cover :) you performed it in a higher key than the original right? Must have been challenging for the soprano! Anyway, I hope you'll post more!! Love from France :)
Camiiilllee We do too! And yes, we did - one whole step (as our bass in this song is actually more of a baritone/tenor 2). Thank you for the kind words!
@@pitchpleaseofficial8251 wow tenor 2 with that low voice is awesomeness! by the way, this version is great! literal goosebumps everytime first minor chords is hit, not sure Bm? awesome!!
Our Acapella group is singing this and I was looking up covers and this just blew me away The perfect chord at 3:30 gives me chills EVERY SINGLE TIME Congrats to you all for a tremendous cover!
Just wow!!! You guys! I'm in tears! Such a beautiful cover, and that is in one whole step higher.... just wow! This is one of my all time favourites from PTX, and you did an amazing job here. Opening the volume in the middle gave me goosebumps! Beautiful beautiful job you guys!!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks! Pentatonix actually published the sheet music for Run To You and we simply took it up a whole step as the bass part was too low for us and our tenor (soprano) could handle the higher notes just fine.
Well the original key has the bass constantly sing to a C2 and thats pretty hard, so it makes it clearer for the bass. And the tenor still performed just fine
Nicely done!! What effect is on the bass? Sounds like an octave below here and there. Just curious. If it is an effect, I'd like to experiment with it.
That’s just the undertone from a perfectly executed chord, if the chord is perfect or almost perfectly in tune it will add a couple over and undertones
@@aaronbrook I think it's just an effect on the mic because subharmonics and throat singing are far more rough than that and it's ridiculously difficult to pull off singing subharmonics for that long.
@@drewconleymusic Good observations. Recordings with TH-cam's compression are so tricky to tell, but I think you're probably right upon further review.
Thanks for the comment! We actually had to switch halfway through and switch back due to our ranges. Chris (the guy to the far right) is the bass at the bridge and Tyler (the guy in the middle) is the bass the remainder of the song.
Good grief, such an unnecessary and mean comment. You should be ashamed of yourself. PTX is such a humble and talented group that are just the nicest people setting a great example to all of us to be better humans. You may want to work on that as you make Pentaholics look bad with this comment. It's a cover, therefore obviously it won't have Mitch or Kirstin. Smh
@@dianad3080 I meant they don't have the anyone with the range of Mitch or the obvious female voice of Kirsten. They aren't bad but it doesn't move me like the original. You should speak about mean and unnecessary. I'm entitled to my opinion and I have reasons for it. You're being judgmental toward me. Any vocal coach would say it doesn't measure up.
@@cherylhowe1541 the tenor for this cover is Nick Oberlies, boy with the glasses. Rather, few people have this man's range, higher chest than Mitch's that's for sure. Search Nick up and come back and say he still "doesn't have Mitch's range" pft.
@@Bbouy1HD Sorry, I don't care for his voice; the quality or timbre. I'm not a big fan of many tenors. They sound like they have a broomstick up their butts and don't have control of their registers. I listened to 3 different songs and I'm going to have to disagree with you. I'm not saying he's bad. I just don't care for his voice overall. I'm not someone who knows nothing about vocal music. I've been fortunate enough to win competitions in NYC when I was younger and to sing in St. Peter's Basilica and in a private audience with Pope John Paul II. IMO Mitch's voice is better overall.
the blending here is so seamless I actually cannot deal, the crescendos almost had me in tears
watching this in 2023.. the blend and the acoustics, I'm melting. great job
perfect place to perform this song......so emotional, rich, with the slightest of echo, as it should be.

This had the perfect amount of bass for me and the balance of everything else was INCREDIBLE and the acoustics holy crap so talented beautiful
OMG!!! The higher version of "run to you" so beautiful
Thank you.

Your poor tenor 1. LOL! That bridge must have nearly killed him. The final "to you" broke but beyond that, this is VERY nice!
very impressive that group of college guys can pull this off. got be the best performance i have seen of this song.
That bass is crunchy! Love it.
It's 103 degrees right now but I have goosebumps. Unbelievable!
The Bridge almost Killed my soul. OMG this is freakin’ Amazingggggg!!!
its cooler in this key
This version is beautiful and soothing. There's definitely something to be said for it. However, I don't know that its better than the original.
Which key is it in?

What a beautiful and respectful cover of this haunting song. Brought a tear to my eye. Loved the higher key too.

This is still absolutely beautiful every time.
Y'all DID THAT ! 🎶
Amazing 👏✊👌
Respect to everyone holding their part down esp bass & tenor 1 💯
That high note tho... i did not ecpect that.. wow this is amazing
omg... the bass it's EPIC
this one is even more touching than the original by Pentatonix. So powerful in the middle. Absolutely great cover!
This had me in tears & goosebumps all over! Just purely amazing work
This is hauntingly beautiful.
OMG!!! Tenor 2 came in hard at the climax!!
WTF, how can that just be seen that rare? This is soooo awesome! Wooow, guys! Love it!

So, so very good.
There are better technical performances out there but this one is perfection in expression, emotion and execution.
Holy smokes!!!! 😳😳😍😍
tight tight tight. so good guys.
It's just like heaven!
This was SO beautiful! Wow
WOW!
So so beautiful!
the shivers-
Damn right no dislikes
That was stunning.
Amazing, you sound so beautiful ❤️
Who is singing the highest? Their voice is beautiful and is perfect for the part just like everyone else singing
I think it's second from the left, with the glasses. It's either him or 2nd from the right - either way they're amazing, as are all 5 of them!!
2nd from the left! Thank you soo much
😊
Beautifully covered
great job guys!!!!
WOW wow amazing job😍😭
BRO THE BASS!!!! BRO THE TENORS
beautifully done !
nice

Que lindo!
Do you guys have sheet music for this key because I’m in love! Great job!!!
We didn’t modify the arrangement at all other than raising the key. PTX posted it when they release the song! Enjoy!
They really made the song in a higher pitch 😧

Scott Miller Yeah I thought the same thing. I also want to know how this works (because I'm a tenor who wants to be able to sing bass).

Thanks! It's actually the original Pentatonix arrangement, just transposed up one step.
ASMR at 3:20 nice work.
Better then they do it
from left to right, who sings each part
Alto, Soprano, Bass/Bari, Tenor, Bari/Bass
I can't figure out which one is the bass
Autumn Rae the smallest one
Jesrael Lima it's actually the gentlemen in the middle, he's the bass.
Thanks for the comment! We actually had to switch halfway through and switch back due to our ranges. Chris (the guy to the far right) is the bass at the bridge and Tyler (the guy in the middle) is the bass the remainder of the song.
No one covers this song better than the Melodores from Vanderbilt. This cover is also bogus as they don't have the female voice.
Not good enough. They don't have a Mitch or Kirstin. Sorry
