The fingers movement with a sound when the index finger hits the middle finger is very popular in elementary schools and it occures usually when the teacher asks his students a question and the excited students who know the answer would rais their hands and do that finger slap to attract the teacher's attention
For the mouth movement, it is very popular in Egypt as used particularly between women. It usually means that the woman who does it is not happy with actions or speech of another person present in the same place... Usually it is like a gossip since usually this movement appears to other people present in the place but not to the person who the mouth movement was done against

Nice Video , always interesting to have it from a non-native (who’s Jordanian now ☺️Ya Hala w Maraheb) , now about the mouth gesture of the actor , it is more in the Egyptian culture and concerned with women as it is so weird to see a man do it (except maybe it’s funny as part of a movie ), also very unusual to c it in our culture , and here it’s so disrespectful and demeaning , except if it’s expressed as a joke of course . Tbh women who use it usually are recognized as “Raddaha” , ask ur husband and he’ll tell its exact meaning , a disrespectful and low profile kind of culture (except as a joke between close ppl of course)

The "tat" was so confusing for me at first, my husband dose this all the time and i confused it with him nodding/approving, well I do know the difference now *LOL* So thank you so much *smiling* This is a lot of help in a sometimes confusing marriage with my Jordanian husband.

I’ve been trying to figure this one out, hope someone can help.
I had a neighbor, older Christian lady from Syria. One time we were talking about a random individual who had just been to her house, and in her attempt to describe his qualities, she said:
“He is…you know,” she frowned and did a gesture as if she was flicking something or wiping dust from her shoulder.
I just said, “Yea I know” but really I didn’t know 😢. It’s been bothering me for the past 5 years. I moved away and so did she.

  • @salimd7842

A rabbit's movement means many things....When you are annoyed, or when you see a problem or something you don't like, and It is also used in admiration and flirtation.
You will find this more common in Arab women and Egyptian men. But most Arab men do not do this.
