It's not an Arab thing it is an Islamic thing that is why we don't date.
For me I don't see anypoint in it
it's just a wast of time, money and energy for something that doesn't last or benefit anyone on the long-run.

@@theenlightenedarab8081 There's no magic or perfect system of governance. All the social problems that exist now have always existed (e.g. prostitution, poverty, domestic violence, alcoholism, exploitation). The underdevelopment of the region has a large and complex multitude of reasons as to why the region is underdeveloped from colonization all the way the mongol invasion.
You are just a spinless arab how wishes the solution to the problem would be turing to a master and asking him how he did it.

@@mindyourbusiness4440 You see how you are being angry and not being multiculturalist? I wanted you to accept me as an Arab nonbeliever but you failed, which again reflects your narrow views dictated by mythological upbringing. Yes we want to learn from the west which is much more wealthy in cultural production than your intellectually impoverished region. The point when you could read Edward Sead, Freud, Joseph Conrad, Naguib Mahfouz, Chinua Achebe, Heins Kohut, Bertrand Russell, come and challenge me. I will not give your comments much weight I just turned up here to say a word about how pitiful Arabs' historical and cultural awareness is. Thank you for your amazing videos!! I am so appreciative of your content because I have just met an amazing Arab man from Egypt and I am trying to navigate my way through this relationship. I am attracted to his desire to know exactly what it is he wants, which is marriage. However, in western society, talking about marriage so quickly after meeting is seen as a red flag which is confusing for me. I find comfort in hearing your story while acclimating to this new world. It is also nice to learn more about Arab men in general. And yes, please, I am aware there will be a difference between Egyptian and Jordanian men but still I am learning from your videos and I'm sure anything I learn here will be of use. I am excited and love my Egyptian man and love the relationship we have. Thank you!!!

Usually many people are confused about life, decisions and not confident of themselves, that makes people not take decisions or responsibilities and usually this kind of people are easy to manipulate; I prefer people w conference and responsible for their life.

i love how the high standards (in terms of morality, religion and responsibility) a woman puts for a husband actually comes from Islam.
the problem we are facing nowadays is that these standards are starting to expand to the areas of wealth, beauty, dramatic romance and other things that don't really lead to a healthy marriage relationship.

Even she was quite expressive about her feelings. However, unlike Jordanian women, she didnt expect me to do alot and try alot. It was easy for me in that regard, perhaps because i am American and many Moroccans see foreigners as wealthy and women as we know are hypergamous by nature.
I will also add that my origin, Bangladesh who are also Muslims, are similar to Jordanian men in that regard, generally speaking. They dont date for long and only begin talking to wkmen when their ready for marriage, and even then often the extended family refers a girl and her family to him and they all speak to them when the time comes

Example. Going back to the 60s only married coulples could get an aparment, or take a big loan in the bank and so on.

The concept of "dating" does not exist in muslims culture in general and in the Arab culture in particular. The reason comes from the relegion of Islam which prohibits any kind of sex between unmarried couples... Therefore, in 99% of couples getting married they are both vergin. This seems strange and odd to westerners, but think about it... A vergin man getting married to a vergin woman... Both have no previous experience... They will both get adapted to each other and will generally each live happily knowing that his/her partner never been in an intimate relationship with an ex. That is why most Muslim couples live together to the end and in most marriages you do not find a husband cheating on his wife nor a wife cheating on her husband.

It is amazing how different perspectives can be- I don't know many Jordanian Jordanian girls, only men from my work and I've never met one who was faithful to his wife. After work they sit around drinking tea or beer (or both) and smoking and talking about their favorite prostitutes in brothels or their secret second wives, etc. Complicated, yet open secret.

And when the man can any girl he want why he should think in marriage , he just looking for fun romantic relationships until his desires calm down from this girl and go for another one , you know human self can’t be satisfied, and the beauty of girls are not limited, so no thing will be enough for this man eyes but the soil when hi die !
European people get judge by culture not by religion, so they do what is normally happen in their culture , that is make me talk about the absolute truth or the absolute values , because in some countries relationships out side of marriage consider shame ! , other countries consider it pretty normal !

I agree, too, that there is a double standard for women. I have almost no female friends in Jordan because they are stuck in family routines and not available to work in most sectors. Almost never recall meeting with a European lady, where she'd been that cold or ambiguous, but yes, they wouldn't rush into getting married in general as having a relationship is an option, while it's generally not the case for an Arab lady, and that's basically more of a cultural rather than a personal attitude. Ah but if you meant to highlight the fact that Europeans tend to have that long term relationship with no commitment, then yes that kind of insane behavior is peculiar only to Westerners (some of them of course) I believe.

This in itself has psychological implications that run to maturity. Just when you date an Arab guy beware of their masculine bent and their attempts to make you part of them, to subsume you in their cultural framework. Thank you for explaining this point. Do you know, Rachel, that it is possible for many Arab or Jordanian youth to marry women of European or American culture, for example.
The problem is how to explain and receive culture from both sides
For example, you know how a Jordanian is jealous of his wife and does not like to see her with European clothing designs or see her accompany men etc.
Here lies the difficulty of explaining the Arab or the Jordanian specifically to the foreign girl, because as you know there are few restrictions placed in Europe on girls and men there, and we are much more conservative ..... Is it possible for you to explain to us your experience and what are the difficulties you faced? Is love or logic? Who defeated you in this ?? And what would you recommend to the Jordanian man and European girl in this regard ???

    • @aspadiamanti5677
      @aspadiamanti5677 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I am a European girl dating an Arab christian man. It works because he is not jealous at all and he has 100% confidence in me. The same goes for me towards him. I am used to a really "western" approach on relationships, I could never tolerate a man criticising my clothing as being too "provocative" for example. I couldn't stand a guy who can't bare the thought that I have male friends. I would also be angry if I knew that my boyfriend freaks out/is repulsed by the thought of me having past relationships. However, I respect his family values. We have a relationship based on respect and confidence.
If you are a "jealous-conservative" Arab man dating a western girl, I would say that the odds are in your favour, because generally speaking, it's the woman that usually has to adapt to the man's point of view, even in the West, although it's changing now. However you have to know what kind of person you are dealing with: if it's a girl like me for example, many of these behaviours would be red flags.

How is it possible for you to protect your wife while she wears inappropriate clothes while walking in the street, may she be raped because all her charms are visible ?? Can someone look at her and say: I wish I could reach her ?? How do you want a person to bear things like this ?? Women are the most precious thing in our life. We cannot bear that and this is what I asked for my comment until I find the answer ..... and the issue is not related to trust. The topic is related to society’s view and the person’s view of himself and his family and what he can provide to protect those who love. @@anaskronz5629 I don't want to criticise anybody. As long as you do not harm others, you can freely have your own values, I respect that. If that is the case though maybe you should try to find a muslim girl and get married. I do not think that you can find many western women that are ok with a man controlling their clothing. Especially the connection between a woman's clothing and harassment is a taboo issue in the west: We believe that it is not the appearance that provokes rape, that it's the rapist that provokes rape. Period. So as a society, we believe that we have to educate and civilise men to not do such things, instead of shaming women for their clothing. That's a basic western principle.
However, maybe your girl has the same values, so it's all good. If not, you shouldn't try to change her, it is wrong. If you persist in your values but still want a western girl, then you need to make some adapting. For example, it's ok to not like it if your girl is out clubbing all night with men. That's a valid reason to be upset in my opinion. But if you get upset each time that your girlfriend wears a skirt or shows a bit of cleavage or talks to a guy that is not her relative, now that is a problem. Compromise. If you can't do it, find a muslim girl. That's my honest opinion. I hope it turns out well for you in any case!
