As wonderful as this movie is - and it really is wonderful - everyone owes it to themselves to listen to the commentary from Adam West and Burt Ward. It's a joy; they are infectious in their love of the film and you just want them to keep talking forever.
I love the dark and gritty comics and the Nolan films but this Batman and Adam West's delicately ballenced performance between camp and sincerity deserves equal respect.
You put the foam rubber in its crude form outside and that entices everyone inside. Then inside, that's where you put the good foam rubber. Foam rubber conventioning 101.
Great stuff man, spot on. I'd definitely give Danger: Diabolik a shot. It's Mario Bava directing John Philip Law in a 60s comic book adaptation from an industry notorious for its camp value, with music by none other than Ennio Morricone. Keep up the stellar work.
It was disappointing that Cesar Romero was underused in the movie, but also really refreshing to see the Joker as *just* a clown mobster. Since Dark Knight came out nearly every incarnation of the Joker has tried and failed horribly to crank up the edginess of the character (with the exception of The Brave and the Bold which paid tribute to the campier times of Batman).
Also if you want more superhero camp I'd recommend Japanese Spiderman/Supaidaman. It has an episode where the villains try to drive him insane using a hit single called "The Spiderman Boogie".
That's one reason why I'm a big fan of the Nicholson version. He has the cut-throat murderer trait combined with the silly wisecracking. Hamill too but obviously the murder was toned down for the cartoon. Never rub another man's rhubarb!

Burt Ward's appearance in Beach Babes From Beyond almost made me hate him. Almost.
Adam West will forever be my batman.
You mean you prefer him over the subtle and masterful portrayal provided by George Clooney?!

5:00-I never thought otherwise :)

I'm a huge Bava fan so it's a massive oversight on my part to have not seen it yet. I'll get round to it!
