When I studied sex addiction in college, that “glazed over” look in the eyes are a common factor. Of course he still needs to be held accountable if he did rape women but in my opinion what I’ve gathered from watching his videos for the past 2 years is that he’s changed and grown a lot as a person. He’s got a lot of not great life patterns, like animal abuse as a child, and early peeping events. He writes about it in his own words in his book. None of this surprises me.

My hubby's cousin used to be an avid fan of Brand and would often see him on tour. Women threw themselves at him - many had their phone numbers written on pieces of paper , ready to hand to security - or they would wait by stage doors for him to appear. I never saw the fascination with him - I personally think he's vile. His behaviour back then was encouraged and women went ga ga over him

For 16 year olds(even if the state allows it) they can't legally consent. An underage victim doesn't always recognize right away what happened to them is wrong. When they become an adult is when they start to realize how gross it was.
In other cases, most women are passive and don't come out right away due to backlash fear. Celebrities have lots of influence and money and can control narrative. Although it seems different now. The narrative is still similar back then(as of 10-20 years ago) even if women came out right away, they were dismissed.
Also side note. Celebrities are also known to buy silence. R Kelly is guilty of underage relationships but he bought their silence with a bribe.
Why not bring this up during the me2 movement? They would have had a lot of support. Im not saying it did or didn't happen, but the timing is strange.
As bad as he looks during that period 2006 to 2013, that does mean or prove he acts this way today or in recent years. He is in recovery on his sex addiction and substance addiction today. The actions and words of Russell Brand during that period of his life are not excusable. However if SA and r@pe of the women that spoke up are proven by a court of law, then he should be prosecuted.

By all means but at this point its accusations. None of us is in a position to convict him nor to defend him. That has to take place in the court of law not in the court of public. That applys to all situations of that kind.
