The MCU is truly a phenomenal labor of love. I know many are quick to call it mindless and not worthy of being called “cinema,” but I vehemently disagree. Many MCU films, probably even most, contain rich themes that are a commentary on the human condition itself. The acting, direction, writing, and cinematography are all usually top-notch. The MCU truly is artful cinema in my opinion. It’s not perfect, but it’s still amazing.
Totally agree with you. But it lacks good cinematography. Only Infinity War, Doctor Strange (not very much but it has) and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have beautiful cinematography.
@@TheManOfTomorrow dr strange has the best cinematography in the MCU, i think you're confusing color grading with cinematography also wandavision had some great cinematography
I’ve actually never seen James Bond but out of the other nine I’d rank them like this: 1. MCU (it changed my life) 2. Wizarding World 3. Spider-Man 4. Star Wars 5. Lord of the Rings 6. Jurassic 7. DCEU 8. X Men 9. Fast and the Furious (6-8 can honestly be changed around)
Maybe not full on changed but it has had a big impact on my life and a lot of the themes in the films really connected with me and made me who I am today
@@mathemachickenmadge2963 Yes and Crimes of Grindelwald is a underrated masterpiece and my favourite of the 10 Wizarding World movies. Fantastic Beasts 3 is gonna be awesome!

As I personally wouldn't include Spider-Man as one franchise, and instead 2 trilogies + the MCU, my ranking would be 1. Middle Earth 2. MCU 3. Star Wars 4. Jurassic Park 5. DCEU 6. James Bond 7. Wizarding World 8. X-Men 9. Fast and Furious 10. Transformers And really there is a huge gap between number 8 and 9 Great Video Sean!
I love that Transformers is on your list. Even if it's last I'm happy it's there. I know people hate it, but for me, I guess it would fit into that fast food movie category plus Transformers was my childhood so it's got nostalgia.
Awesome video, Sean! Here’s my ranking: 1. MCU 2. Star Wars 3. Harry Potter 4. The Fast and the Furious 5. X-Men 6. DCEU 7. Spider-Man 8. The Lord of the Rings 9. Jurassic Park 10. James Bond
Have not seen any James Bond or Fast and Furious movies and not every movie in each of these franchises: 1 = LOTR - that original trilogy is just perfect: amazing acting, characters, emotional beats, visuals, sets, action, worldbuilding, it’s suspenseful and has high stakes. I love it! It’s not something I rewatch too much because the movies are really long but when I do, I’m blown away by the quality. I could gush about how good it is for hours. The Hobbit is flawed and nowhere near the level of LOTR but I really enjoyed being back in Middle Earth and it’s what I wanted in a LOTR prequel like the Hobbit. 2 = MCU - So many movies, so many characters, so few missteps with only 2 bad movies. It’s extraodinary what this franchise did: compelling characters, amazing action, visuals, emotional beats and a overarching story that spans all 23 movies. That’s not an easy task at all and I have no doubt they’ll continue being extraodinary 3 = Harry Potter - the books are better but the movies still did an amazing job translating the books: amazing casting, acting, visuals, sets, it’s emotional, there are so many amazing sequences and it really absorbs you into the world. FB2 is rough but FB1 was amazing and provided something new. It’s a franchise that drives all worries out of my mind and the one that got me into movies. 4 = Star Wars - Easily the most inconsistent franchise when it comes to the list with some awfully low lows (TLJ, AOTC, parts of TPM) but the highs are really high. Each movie (even the sequels) absorbs you into this universe with the original trilogy offering timeless characters, action, villains and stories, the prequels are filled with some of the best action in the franchise with so much creativity put into them and I do have some fun with TFA and TRoS especially. This franchise is just magical 5 = X-Men - What I love about this franchise is its more mature, thematic take on superheroes/mutants, being more about characters and story over action and spectacle with amazing acting and characters and you still get some great action and a diverse set of movies with Logan being my favorite superhero movie. It has some bad movies (DP and Origins) and Last Stand and Apocalypse are incredibly flawed (but not awful) but it’s still a great franchise 6 = Spider-Man - This is probably the franchise I’d rewatch the most. These movies are so fun with amazing action, villains, characters, action, they’re funny and each actor/reboot brings something new to the role and you also have Spiderverse, one of the most creative animated movies ever and Spider-Man 2 being one of the best superhero movies ever. The movies do have some obvious flaws but they’re still really fun 7 = DCEU - Frustrating franchise for me. I appreciate the diverse of movies with this franchise with each solo movie offering a different genre and I do enjoy most of these movies: ZSJL, MoS, Shazam, Aquaman and Wonder Woman were great, BvS was flawed but fun but I have no idea where this franchise is going. The planning and story building is just so poor (thanks WB); it just seems like a bunxh of differwnt directors are making their own movies but it’s definitely a franchise that’s incredibly overhated. 8 = Jurassic Park (Only saw Jurassic Park and World) - Jurassic Park was amazing and while Jurassic World and fun and I enjoyed seeing an official theme park with dinosaurs, it felt really derivative of this original movie and even though I haven’t seen the other 3 movies, I can’t imagine what they’ll do with them without feeling repetitive or tiresome; it shouldn’t have been a franchise but I can’t judge yet
@@mrshelby7526, there’s around 26 James Bond movies and from what I’ve seen/heard, it’s not like I’m missing out much with Fast and Furious. They seem to be just fun dumb action movies and as I said, I can’t imagine what they can even do with the Jurassic Park franchise. Both movies seemed to have deliver what I wanted.
Sad to see James Bond in last, it's my favorite franchise and personally I love all but 3 of the movies (diamonds are forever, die another day, spectre) but of course I respect your opinion
Absolutely man, Bond is the best. You don't like Diamonds Are Forever? Aww, I've always enjoyed that outing for some reason, just good fun to me. Tiffany Case is such a likeable Bond girl. Considering the lowest franchise in the top 10 made 5 billion dollars, the only "trilogy" that can even enter the list is the Avengers films. And potentially the Avatar trilogy if the sequels are big.
I agree. Marvel has done so much and I absolutely love the Avengers movies, Captain America, and especially Iron Man and Spider Man's relationship! Marvel has done so much and I'm excited for the future projects as well!!!
@@preacherskids6724 Marvel is good. But Star Wars basically invented blockbusters. It was basically the biggest milestone since the Wizard of Oz and Gone with the wind as the first colored movies.
I’d go MCU, LOTR, Star Wars in that order. To have as many movies in the MCU that are amazing they easily take 1st, LOTR’s story telling and actors that portrayed the characters were perfect. You could watch those movies now and they’d hold up w today’s movies. Star Wars is just a worldwide phenomenon even w the prequel trilogy being rough.

The Clone Wars and the Mandalorian have been breathing life into Star Wars, especially with the mess that Disney made. I'd love to see the day when Disney lets Filoni incorporate more legends material such as the ancient sith and old republic. Hopefully the new TV shows live up to the Mandalorian's standards.

For me it’s: (also I made some changes, im leaving out the sequels for Star Wars, and hobbit for Lotr) 10: James Bond, I’ve never been the biggest fan, but I love the Daniel Craig films, I prefer Austin powers 9: Jurassic Park, same with James Bond, not the biggest fan, love the first one, others are meh 8: fast and furious: I love everything up to fast 5, not the biggest fan of the rest 7: Harry Potter: loved them as a kid, still do, but fantastic Beasts heavily weigh it down 6: x-men: Logan is my 3rd favourite superhero , and Deadpool is somewhere in my top 10, but I still like the rest, apart from origins 5: dceu: zsjl is my 2nd favourite superhero movie, and it has some great films, I think it will get better if zsjl had sequels 4: spider man: i LOVE into the spider verse, it’s creative and amazing, it has more ups than downs 3: mcu: I love the mcu, but I feel it’s getting a bit too ridiculous with the multiverse and the whole plot of wandavision, and I will probably only be able to watch wandavision and the other shows, I don’t have Disney plus, but I managed to get it for a month, and I wasn’t the biggest fan of wandavision 2: lotr: Jesus, the lotr trilogy is amazing. That’s the only way you can put it, it’s epic. Long, had a fantastic story, I love it 1: Star Wars: everyone on planet earth has heard of Star Wars, I have pretty much every Star Wars game, seen all the movies (1-6) at least 10 times, Star Wars has branched out in fantastic ways (apart from the sequels) that pretty much everything they pump out (apart from the sequels) is fantastic. If you couldn’t tell, I hate the sequels, but that’s just what I think, and I prefer the prequels to the original trilogy, I’m more of a gamer to a hardcore movie watcher, and I can say that , without a doubt In my mind, every single Star Wars game is fantastic, my favourite being Vader immortal 3, the vr one, but enough about games. Solo is decent but holy moly rogue one is fantastic, and the mandalorian, clone wars and rebels I don’t need to go into detail about how fantastic they are
1. Lord of the Rings 2. Harry Potter & the Wizarding World 3. Spider-Man 4. MCU 5. DCEU 6. James Bond 7. X-Men 8. Star Wars 9. Jurassic Park 10. Fast and the Furious
It’s so interesting to see how opinions can differ on movies. For me, the DCEU would firmly be at the bottom of my list but you rate it in much higher esteem. Equally, I would place Bond much higher up. That could be due to my British background and Bond is kind of vital to our movie culture, great list as always though- always interesting to see difference of opinions :)
Y’all are smoking. Shazam ,Aqua-man, Wonder Women themselves put it over Spider-Man really just cause Spider-Man 3, TASM2 and Venom aren’t really that good

Nice list! Here's mine 10. James Bond - (Only seen the Daniel Craig films and I’m frankly not that interested in the older films. I did love Daniel Craig as Bond, but these movies don’t bring out as much emotion from me as others) 9. X-Men - (I really loved some of these movies such as Days of Future Past, Logan, First Class, but Origins, X3, New Mutants, these are awful movies IMO. Unfortunately it ended with Dark Phoenix which IMO is overrated, but it’s not good either. It’s just a weird franchise because I love some movies, but hate some movies) 8. DCEU - (I love Man of Steel but after that it got a bit rocky with BVS (even though I enjoy the Ultimate Edition) and Suicide Squad. I thought they were back on track with Wonder Woman but then Justice League happened. Lately they’ve been doing better though with Aquaman, Shazam, I think Birds of Prey is pretty decent but I wasn’t a WW84 fan. However 2021 was freaking incredible for the DCEU with Zack Snyder’s Justice League and The Suicide Squad. It’s just as a franchise, they really need to get in track as they’re very all over the place. However I do have faith in their future) 7. - Fast and Furious - (This is just an incredibly fun franchise. Not only is it fun but I really did grow to love the characters and Furious 7 was a beautiful send off to both Paul Walker and Brian O’Connor. After that though, (even though I enjoyed Hobbs and Shaw) I haven’t been loving the movies after Furious 7 so it may be in the decline but as if now, I’m still on board) 6. Star Wars - (Ok hear me out, the OG trilogy is absolutely classic. The prequels whilst not being the best in overall quality IMO, it told an interesting story. Then the Sequels to me were just a mess as an overall trilogy. Also the fan base more than any I’ve seen (other than maybe Snyder) feels so toxic that it kinda puts a bad taste in my mouth for the franchise) 5. Jurassic Park - (This is my heart pick. Jurassic Park is my favorite movie of all time and I really like Lost World. I even enjoy JP3 and I still love Jurassic World. Fallen Kingdom is honestly the only movie here I don’t like but from this franchise I just get a sense of magic I don’t get elsewhere. Then again I love dinosaurs) 4. Spider-Man - (This is a franchise I hold very closely to my heart. I absolutely love the Raimi trilogy, I’ve grown more fondly for Andrew Garfield as of late and I love Tom Holland as well. Spider-Man 2 and No Way Home are 2 of my all time favorite movies and I also love Spiderverse. This may not feel that much like a franchise because of the reboots, I do have Spider-Man very close to my heart) 3. Wizarding World - (The Harry Potter franchise is consistently at the very least good. The series ranges from good - fantastic. I like Fantastic Beasts 1 but didn’t care much for 2. However I love this franchise overall so I’ll always stay on its side) 2. Middle Earth - (The Lord of The Rings trilogy is my all-time favorite trilogy. It’s just incredible. I even love the Hobbit films. Not as much as LOTR but I still love them) 1. MCU - (The story they managed to tell here is insane that they actually pulled it off. You’d think after Endgame that they have no steam left but that’s not the case with Shang-Chi and of course No Way Home. I really love this franchise)

I really agree with all of this, very well said, i only disagree about the cinematography
Well said! 👏👏

relax, its my opinion.
Have not seen any James Bond or Fast and Furious movies and not every movie in each of these franchises:
1 = LOTR - that original trilogy is just perfect: amazing acting, characters, emotional beats, visuals, sets, action, worldbuilding, it’s suspenseful and has high stakes.
That’s not an easy task at all and I have no doubt they’ll continue being extraodinary
3 = Harry Potter - the books are better but the movies still did an amazing job translating the books: amazing casting, acting, visuals, sets, it’s emotional, there are so many amazing sequences and it really absorbs you into the world.
This franchise is just magical
5 = X-Men - What I love about this franchise is its more mature, thematic take on superheroes/mutants, being more about characters and story over action and spectacle with amazing acting and characters and you still get some great action and a diverse set of movies with Logan being my favorite superhero movie. It has some bad movies (DP and Origins) and Last Stand and Apocalypse are incredibly flawed (but not awful) but it’s still a great franchise
6 = Spider-Man - This is probably the franchise I’d rewatch the most. These movies are so fun with amazing action, villains, characters, action, they’re funny and each actor/reboot brings something new to the role and you also have Spiderverse, one of the most creative animated movies ever and Spider-Man 2 being one of the best superhero movies ever. The movies do have some obvious flaws but they’re still really fun
7 = DCEU - Frustrating franchise for me.

Lord of the rings is a trilogy. The franchise is called middle earth.
That might be the most consistent franchise ever. Each movie is in the top 15 highest rated movies list on IMDb.

Warner Bros
Things I rank based on importance to my heart
-MCU
-Harry Potter
-Spider-Man 1-3, Spiderverse and Homecoming,FFH
-X-men (Dark Phoenix doesn’t exist)
-Fast and Furious
-Star Wars (1-6)
Not a fan of LOTR but I respect them
Marvel Cinematic Universe
DC Extended Universe
Harry Potter and the Wizarding World
I love these 3 the most and equally. They will ALWAYS remain in my heart.
I’d take out DC put in lord of the rings
@@Bbell47 DCEU is actually my top 3 as well
@@spector.a4267 For me the DCEU is painfully average, like I feel like if you took Thor the dark world and made a franchise it would be the DCEU. Just my opinion tho
@@JC42844 Well i don't count suicide squad and Josstice league because they both are getting either remaked or a soft reboot so with them away i dont think any DCEU movie is bad and thats why i like them a lot
@@spector.a4267 yea true, I love Shazam, Aquaman, and the snydercut. I guess it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth because i wasn’t really fond of the man of steel and bvs, and those are my favourite dc characters
Why isn’t Pirates of the Caribbean on the list
Probably because when you go to wiki it’s not in the top 10 list.
On the topic of Star Wars: I’m really excited for the upcoming shows and movies and I think it’s Disney’s way of saying sorry for screwing up the last 3 episodes.
I love the hobbit films I don’t see the hate they get
Same I love them not as good as lord of the rings but still good
Top three for me is:
1. MCU for the obvious reasons but also because this was and still is my childhood. Still remember going to see iron man opening night with my dad.
2. LotR I’m a huge fan of fantasy and while I have issues with the Hobbit films, I can still see these 6 films as a 6 episode saga that I just f-king love.
3. Spiderman, the character of peter parker meant soo much to me so these films will always be close to me forever, I’m just not a fan of FFH or TASM 2 so I’d put it lower than LotR
I like ffh

I agree with Harry Potter being at the bottom.(I hate Harry Potter)
1 - The Lord of the Rings (Just for the fact that TLOTR trilogy is in here this is an easy number 1)
2 - DCEU (The same thing as the above, BvS Ultimate Edition is in here and this movie resonates with me at a personal level)
3 - MCU
4 - Spider-Man
5 - Star Wars
6 - X-Men
7 - Harry Potter and the Wizarding World
8 - Jurassic Park (Makes me sad to put this so low because of the original movie

I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE lord of the rings
the DCEU only has one movie that can compete with the MCU. The lord of the Rings is one of the most boring movies I ever watched
@@kareemamerey5664 I´m talking about my personal preference, not about quality, i know BvS is weaker than any MCU movie, but it like it much more. And i respect that you don´t like the LOTR trilogy but any one of those movies are much much better than anything the MCU has to offer :-).

I don’t know if anybody else agrees with me or anything like that, but does anybody else agree with me that it’s tough to rank franchises. Because every franchise has a bad movie or more. Nice list! Here's mine
10. James Bond - (Only seen the Daniel Craig films and I’m frankly not that interested in the older films. I did love Daniel Craig as Bond, but these movies don’t bring out as much emotion from me as others)
9. X-Men - (I really loved some of these movies such as Days of Future Past, Logan, First Class, but Origins, X3, New Mutants, these are awful movies IMO. Unfortunately it ended with Dark Phoenix which IMO is overrated, but it’s not good either. It’s just a weird franchise because I love some movies, but hate some movies)
8. However I do have faith in their future)
7. - Fast and Furious - (This is just an incredibly fun franchise. Not only is it fun but I really did grow to love the characters and Furious 7 was a beautiful send off to both Paul Walker and Brian O’Connor. After that though, (even though I enjoyed Hobbs and Shaw) I haven’t been loving the movies after Furious 7 so it may be in the decline but as if now, I’m still on board)
6. Star Wars - (Ok hear me out, the OG trilogy is absolutely classic. The prequels whilst not being the best in overall quality IMO, it told an interesting story. Then the Sequels to me were just a mess as an overall trilogy. Also the fan base more than any I’ve seen (other than maybe Snyder) feels so toxic that it kinda puts a bad taste in my mouth for the franchise)
5. Then again I love dinosaurs)
4. This may not feel that much like a franchise because of the reboots, I do have Spider-Man very close to my heart)
3. Wizarding World - (The Harry Potter franchise is consistently at the very least good. The series ranges from good - fantastic. I like Fantastic Beasts 1 but didn’t care much for 2. However I love this franchise overall so I’ll always stay on its side)
2. Middle Earth - (The Lord of The Rings trilogy is my all-time favorite trilogy. It’s just incredible. I even love the Hobbit films. Not as much as LOTR but I still love them)
1. MCU - (The story they managed to tell here is insane that they actually pulled it off. You’d think after Endgame that they have no steam left but that’s not the case with Shang-Chi and of course No Way Home. I really love this franchise)
1: Jurassic Park
2: Star Wars
3: Lord Of The Rings
4: X-Men
