I lived in Houston through the late '80's and my girlfriend and I would eat there at least twice a week. I worked at the Contemporary Art Museum (CAM) and would always bring my leftovers for lunch. We had a communal fridge downstairs and people stealing my sticky rice cakes, lol. Thanks for the sweetest memories 💖

I like the idea of a Vietnamese/Thai buffet. I hope this idea could catch on elsewhere. Too many Asian Buffets serve Americanized Chinese food along with a Mongolian BBQ and some sushi.

You should try the brunch buffet at Caracol in Houston. It's a costal Mexican restaurant and the food is great. The seafood (especially love the oysters and ceviche), meat dishes, and dessert.

Kim Son is good for variety at great price point for people wanting to try Vietnamese food, but not too sure what to get. Once you find dishes you like, then you go out and find the places that blow the dish out of the water.
    LOVE ECK egg tarts.

Loving the videos Mikey. Stoked you’re in my neck of the woods in STL.
Try Sides of Seoul down the road from Fire Chicken. I believe they’re carry out only. Not quite Korean BBQ, but really homey dishes. As a Korean, it reminds me of comfort home food.
If you’re in the mood for an amazing burger, Mac’s Local Eats! Smash style burgers using dry aged beef. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

You actually weren't far from one of STL's Koran BBQ restaurants, where you can cook at the table (Wudon BBQ Korean Restaurant).
BB.Q Chicken is a great Korean fried chicken chain in the other direction from you.
Cate Zone has Northeat Chinese food, there's a soup dumpling shop next door, and Royal Chinese BBQ a little further east of that.

Well dang Mikey I wish I would have known you were going to be in Tyler, AND going to Stanley's - I basically work right next door to them. Would have been cool to hang out. You should definitely explore the Tyler food scene some more the next time you come through. There're quite a few (crappy) American-chinese buffets, a couple of legit Chinese places (Poch's Rice Cafe and Ming's), the Vietnamese food scene WAS blowing up before 2020 (sadly two of the three places I know of have closed, and the third, while it holds a special place in my heart for being my first Viet food experience, is more expensive and less quality than the others had), plenty of Japanese/sushi places, and TONS more BBQ in Tyler and the surrounding areas. Also: you NEED to come here next year for crawfish. Wade's Place in Chandler will blow your mind - they don't just do good crawfish either - their steaks and burgers are amazing.
